Broad will be desperate to get an early one here, especially Warner, who looks very well set.

It feels like England need the crowd a little bit here. They would have hoped for the early breakthrough.
Warner is being positive, Khawaja is continuing his business. England just have to keep probing away and need the crowd to give them energy.
Stuart Broad continues to David Warner.

Khawaja had a real feel for that one, not a lot of footwork. James Anderson draws him in.

That was a bit riskier than the one that brought the genuine edge. Anderson in the business area.
James Anderson presents a beautiful seam position to Usman Khawaja as he gets the ball to nip away from the Australia opener to audible gasps from the England slip cordon.
Khawaja nicked one off Anderson a little earlier, but the chance went between Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root. Should the England wicketkeeper have done better here?
A subdued quiet start by England in the field. The crowd are a little quieter than they were a little earlier as Australia attempt to nullify Stuart Broad and James Anderson.
Andy Zaltzman
Cricket statistician on Test Match Special
By my count, Australia have made 15 chances in the game and taken 12 of them.
England taken five of their 10 chances in the field.
Meanwhile, Alex Carey took nine of his 10 opportunities behind the stumps, Jonny Bairstow is on just one from five so far.
Target 281
Marnus Labuschagne is the picture of hyperactivity in the Australian dressing room. Bags of nervous energy he's busily chewing the ear off anybody willing to listen to his musings.
Out on the field, Usman Khawaja is happy to leave Stuart Broad's first two balls, and the England seamer goes a bit straighter which allows the left-hander to just flick it off his hip for a single.

Line and length hasn't quite started on point from Jimmy Anderson. He'll just want to tighten up this line to the left-handers.
James Anderson continues.
The short stocky David Warner, biceps bulging, shows his intent off Anderson's second ball as he connects with a drive. Harry Brook is stationed in the covers, however, and is able to deny him a boundary.
Warner leans into Anderson's final delivery, which is ever so slightly on his pads, and nudges it beyond Stuart Broad at mid-on for a couple of runs.

Khawaja looks like he has got so much time. Not much foot movement but he lines the ball up well.
A hint of swing from Stuart Broad from round the wicket to Usman Khawaja in the remainder of the over but the Aussie opener, as you would expect, is watchful. Khawaja judiciously selects his moments to defend and leave.

England looking for the ball Stuart Broad chose with David Warner’s name on it…

David Warner is pugnacious, he's punchy, he's busy. He'll get this score moving if he can. England would give anything to get his wicket early.
David Warner flicks one off his hip for a single off Stuart Broad.

The entire Hollies stand is singing “Broady’s gonna get ya” as Broad charges in to Warner. There are people slamming on the metal railings to make a beat. It’s like the 1970s at the MCG.

Well, it's an appetiser to this over. Stuart Broad is going to bowl to David Warner.

That is Bairstow's catch. He's had a bit of a shocker, to be fair.
