  1. That‘s All Folkspublished at 18:34 British Summer Time 28 June 2023

Right. That is enough red-ball banter for one week.

We now revert to 12 days of white-ball drama, when the T20 Blast Finals Day contestants will be decided.

Then it wil be Kookaburra time again on 10 July when all 18 County Championship combatants return for the second round of fixtures with the new ball.

But no doubt people will still be talking about that heroic Lancashire win over Surrey.

Not to mention a few more of the other highlights this week . . . Essex, Hampshire, Somerset, DBD etc

  4. WORCESTERSHIRE DRAW WITH DERBYSHIREpublished at 18:16 British Summer Time 28 June 2023

    Worcestershire 237 & 243-6, Derbyshire 578-5 dec

With one over left, hands are shaken. And Worcestershire have escaped again.

It is now Durham here on Friday night for the Pears in the T20, when Derbyshire host Leicestershire.

Then Worcestershire and Derbyshire must meet again on Sunday in the final T20 group game at Derby, when there will be a winner, one way or the other.

  5. LEICESTERSHIRE DRAW WITH DURHAMpublished at 18:15 British Summer Time 28 June 2023

    Leicestershire 422 & 259-8 v Durham 517-6 dec & 343-3 dec - Target: 439

Bad light ends the match six overs early as Durham's victory bid is frustrated.

The Division Two leaders add 13 points to their tally, while Leicestershire claim 10 and an honourable draw.

A superb knock from Peter Handscomb (136 not out) stood between Durham and a fifth win of the season.

The Australian came out at 26-3 and has helped shepherd number 10 batsmen Ed Barnes through 20 overs to ultimately salvage the draw.

He spent more than four-and-a-quarter hours at the crease and soaked up 201 balls. I'm sure his dinner will taste that much nicer this evening.

Durham now sit a commanding 36 points clear at the top from Leicestershire who leapfrog above Sussex into second spot.

  6. Bad light stops playpublished at 18:08 British Summer Time 28 June 2023

    Leicestershire 422 & 259-8 v Durham 517-6 dec & 343-3 dec - Target: 439

Leicestershire will have their draw without facing the final 36 balls if the light fails to improve by 18:17 BST.

That's 10 minutes to sweat it out, Foxes fans.

  7. Four overs to go at New Roadpublished at 18:08 British Summer Time 28 June 2023

    Worcestershire 237 & 243-6, Derbyshire 578-5 dec

This is the only game going now. with Leicestershire and Durham off the field.

Matthew Waite and Joe Leach look up to the job though.

There have been oohs, ahhs and shouts. But nothing to perturb the umps.

  8. SUSSEX DRAW WITH GLAMORGANpublished at 18:06 British Summer Time 28 June 2023

Sussex 273-9, chasing 359 to beat Glamorgan

An absolute thriller ends with each team taking eight points apiece.

The last wicket pair survived 21.2 overs.

Oli Carter finished on a fine 55 not out from 150 balls with Henry Shipley on a hugely creditable unbeaten eight from 56.

Hands shaken all around. Neither team is the winner, but cricket certainly is.

  9. Postpublished at 18:04 British Summer Time 28 June 2023

Sussex 273-9, chasing 359 to beat Glamorgan

Massive appeal for LBW from the second ball. Oli Carter backed off onto his stumps but it might just have been drifting down leg.

Sussex 273-9, chasing 359 to beat Glamorgan

Final over to come from Aussie leggie Mitch Swepson. NINE fielders crowd round the bat of Oli Carter.

Five straight maidens leading up to it. Sussex are so close to completing a remarkable rearguard effort.

  11. Bad light stops playpublished at 17:59 British Summer Time 28 June 2023

    Leicestershire 422 & 259-8 v Durham 517-6 dec & 343-3 dec - Target: 439

Scott Borthwick gets one to skid past Ed Barnes' defensive prod, but also past his off stump.

But then the umpires have seen enough. They are taking the players off for bad light with six overs still scheduled to play. It's dark out there.

The Leicestershire fans cheer. They know this might be it for the day and the match.

Peter Handscomb (136 not out) gets a generous ovation from the hardy supporters that remain as he walks to the pavilion.

Ed Barnes also deserves a mention in dispatches. He's survived 43 balls for a potentially match-saving five.

  12. Seven overs left at New Roadpublished at 17:58 British Summer Time 28 June 2023

    Worcestershire 237 & 240-6, Derbyshire 578-5 dec

The light no longer seems to be a problem at Worcester.

    Seven overs left.

Sussex 273-9, chasing 359 to beat Glamorgan

Six around the bat for Glamorgan as Mitch Swepson bowls what should be his penultimate over.

He beats Oli Carter's bat but also the stumps. Swepson is scooting them through. Intakes of breath with every delivery.

Two overs to come after this.

    Leicestershire 422 & 259-8 v Durham 517-6 dec & 343-3 dec - Target: 439

    Massive appeal from Matt Parkinson!

He thinks he's got the key wicket of Peter Handscomb as it bounces past his edge through to Ollie Robinson behind the stumps. But it's bounce not bat.

Maiden. Seven overs to go. Scott Borthwick to Ed Barnes.

Sussex 273-9, chasing 359 to beat Glamorgan

Timm van der Gugten returns in place of James Harris for Glamorgan.

No11 Henry Shipley on strike. 24 balls to come. He has faced 44 already, for his eight. Oli Carter has 55 from 138.

  16. Eight overs to find two wicketspublished at 17:49 British Summer Time 28 June 2023

    Leicestershire 422 & 259-8 v Durham 517-6 dec & 343-3 dec - Target: 439

Durham are operating with both strike bowlers now despite the gloomy overhead conditions as Ben Raine and Matthew Potts look to find a way to take the two wickets.

Peter Handscomb (136) has looked immovable, but Durham know one wicket could soon bring a second.

    There's eight overs to go.

However, if they were to go off for bad light now, that will be it. The umpires are checking their meters at the end of every over.

All change again as Matt Parkinson replaces Matthew Potts.

Sussex 273-9, chasing 359 to beat Glamorgan

    30 balls remain.

These two have been together for 16.2 overs.

Glamorgan frustrated Sussex by batting through six sessions at Hove, as BBC Radio Wales commentator Nick Webb wonders, is this cricketing karma for that?

  18. Postpublished at 17:42 British Summer Time 28 June 2023

Sussex 271-9, chasing 359 to beat Glamorgan

When Henry Shipley strode out as last man there were 21.2 overs or 128 balls remaining for Glamorgan to take the final Sussex wicket.

That number is now down to seven overs, or 42 balls.

Glamorgan look to have run out of ideas, but it only takes one ball to get a wicket, and they don't always have to be good.

  19. 250 runs

up for Leicestershirepublished at 17:40 British Summer Time 28 June 2023

    Leicestershire 422 & 251-8 v Durham 517-6 dec & 343-3 dec - Target: 439

Durham want to bring Matthew Potts back, but the light prevents them so Scott Borthwick is going to turn his slow arm over.

Ed Barnes cuts the Durham skipper and his second scoring shot in 28 balls goes to the boundary to bring up the 250.

The ninth-wicket partnership with Peter Handscomb moves to 62. Barnes' share is five.

Potts then has the okay to go and replaces Ben Raine.

    WICKET - Pollock c Dal b Reece 56published at 17:38 British Summer Time 28 June 2023

    Worcestershire 237 & 233-6, Derbyshire 578-5 dec

    Big wicket.

After 10 minutes short of four hours of determined crease occupation, Ed Pollock finally gets tempted.

He aims to work Luis Reece on the leg side, top edges and Anuj Dal has to run back beyond mid-off to dive and take a superb sprawling catch running backwards as the ball dropped over his shoulder.

Joe Leach comes in to join Matthew Waite with 11 overs sttil to face.

A clearly gutted Pollock has to almost unglue himself from the crease.

He will not need telling that was the wrong shot to play.
