Kent fans are looking to the heavens, desperate for rain. Not sure they're going to get any.

  11. Finch back on the fieldpublished at 16:57 British Summer Time 11 July 2023

    Yorkshire 376-7 v Worcestershire

Good news for Worcestershire paceman Adam Finch.

Ths magic sponge has obviously done the trick - and having been helped off barely ten minutes before, he has now trotted back onto the field of play.

Just as well. 32 overs still left in the day after this one.

Maiden double-century for Rob Yatespublished at 16:56 British Summer Time 11 July 2023

    Kent 171 v Warwickshire 489-7

The second double-ton of the Division One afternoon. This one from Rob Yates was very different but no less impressive in a different way to that of James Rew.

A lesson in patience and grit. Rob Yates resumed this morning on 53 and has dug deep to reach his maiden double-ton from 402 balls with a push through the covers off Hamid Qadri.

There were 19 fours and that destructive straight six which smashed up the Kent balcony along the way, but, Yates is going to Yates, he defends the next ball respectfully.

The lead is 318. What an effort.

Nick Gubbins let it be known he did not want to be out there as a shower hits Taunton. After 120 overs in the dirt he wants a sit down.

There's blue sky to the west so it's hopefully not terminal for the day's play.

Still 33 overs left here tonight.

Josh Shaw bowls a half volley and Lees drives beautifully through mid off for four runs.

    He's 160 not out now - and that's a career best.

Hmm. Rain in the air, I'm afraid. And we're off. That came very suddenly.

  20. Lancashire take new ballpublished at 16:50 British Summer Time 11 July 2023

    Lancs v Essex 261-5

New ball time at Stanley Park and it hasn't come a moment too soon for Lancashire.

Essex were 50-4 earlier in the day but Tom Westley, aided and abetted by Paul Walter, has batted them into a healthy position.

Tom Bailey will start a new spell. Simon Harmer is on strike.
