Stuart Broad to David Warner first up?

Dan Liebke on Twitter: If Bairstow doesn’t throw the ball at the stumps first ball, I’m going to be so disappointed in him.

Headingley is certainly fired up and we knew it would be.
Big boos as the Australia openers David Warner and Usman Khawaja walk out to the middle.
Nothing that Warner won't be used to...

Boos at the end of the Australia anthem from the Western Terrace…
Is it an unpopular opinion to say that the Australia national anthem is an absolute banger?
The players are out at Headingley now and both sides are lining up for the national anthems.
Australia first.

It looks like Pat Cummins is leading Australia out in his 100th Test. Not a lot of chat between the players as they head out.

Re Tim Callaghan 10:05 - I’m assuming this means no Aussie should reference any of Mr Don Bradman’s famous knocks?
Sam, English fan Down Under in Bondi
Can someone please remind Tim (10:05) that England have won more Ashes series than Australia in the last 20 years. #winning
Jamie Wilson, Caversham
Tim 10:05 - erm the last Ashes series in England, Tim, probably the best point of reference for, er, the current Ashes series in England? Perhaps we can talk about Australian ineptitude at Headingly instead of Stokes’ brilliance? Either way, we’ll stop talking about it when your lot finally bore off about Bradman etc.

The opening day of this Headingley Test sees England and the wider game celebrate the Rainbow Laces campaign.
It is designed to promote LGBTQ+ inclusion, with cricket participating for the seventh successive season.
England player Joe Root said: "As players we have a platform to use and as a group we believe that cricket should be a game that everyone can play, watch and enjoy. We're really proud to support LGBTQ+ inclusion in cricket, and we know that supporting a campaign like this can help LGBTQ+ individuals feel supported in the game."
Thanks Sam.
Morning all.
Morning Prime Minister (hopefully you all get that reference, if you don't find out about it here).
A key day in the Ashes then. They've all felt like that so far, but this one really does.
We're about 15 minutes away from the first ball of this all-important third Ashes Test.
England - with a much-changed attack - will bowl first first.
I'm off for a brew, so to see if they can make a few early inroads and take you through the morning session it's over to Callum Matthews.
Look who's back?
Mitch Marsh is the surprise inclusion in the Australia XI at Headingley.
He's not played a Test for nearly four years. In fact, his last red-ball appearance for the Aussies was against England at the Oval in 2019.
England: Crawley, Duckett, Brook, Root, Bairstow (wk), Stokes (c), Moeen, Woakes, Broad, Robinson, Wood.
Australia: Warner, Khawaja, Labuschagne, Smith, Head, Marsh, Carey (wk), Cummins (c), Starc, Murphy, Boland.
Australia captain Pat Cummins: “We would have had a bowl as well but I don't think it's too big a deal.
"Three changes. Cam Green has a slight hamstring strain, he should be back for next week but Mitch Marsh comes in for his first game in a while.
"Todd Murphy is in for Nathan Lyon and Scotty Boland is in for Josh Hazlewood."
On Todd Murphy: "It's his fifth Test in the last few months. He was a star in India so he's ready to go."
On 100 Tests for Steve Smith: "The standard he's set over those matches, averaging nearly 60. Hopefully it's another huge week for him."
On fiery atmosphere: "I wouldn't expect anything less up here. It was a great game in 2019, the last first two Tests have been pretty good so hopefully another one here."

Boos for Pat Cummins as he steps up for his interview at the toss.
We’re told Cam Green has a slight hamstring strain.
England captain Ben Stokes: “We would be happy going either way, it looks a good cricket wicket but hopefully we can get something out of the pitch this morning.
"With the injury to Ollie Pope we had a few thought processes that went into the selection and we thought about what team we'd go with if I couldn't bowl. We're really happy with the team we've gone with.
"Harry Brook was in the squad last summer and waiting for this opportunity and we felt he could come in at any position. He's a quality player and could fit in anywhere. We wanted to keep Rooty at four too.
"Moeen is very confident. It's always great having someone like him, who can affect the game with bat and ball.
"It's an amazing place to play cricket, especially with the Western Terrace. They get right behind us. We love playing cricket here."
For the third match running, Pat Cummins calls wrong at the toss.
Ben Stokes says England will have a bowl first.
It's almost time for the talking/ bickering/ whingeing to stop.
It's time for the toss...
