  1. wicket

WICKET Clark c Rew b Green 8published at 12:49 British Summer Time 26 July 2023

    Somerset 170 v Surrey 239-6

Ben Green's mullet may not be to all tastes but there is nothing with his bowling.

Excellent delivery does enough to clip the edge of Jordan Clark's bat and have him caught behind.

  2. NOTTS ALL OUT FOR 350published at 12:47 British Summer Time 26 July 2023

    Notts 350 v Kent

Luke Fletcher managed to pick up the single that secured a third batting bonus point for Nottinghamshire, but Dane Paterson then holes out to give Jas Singh his fourth wicket of the innings.

Singh finishes with figures of 4-87 and Kent will have just under 20 minutes to negotiate before the lunch interval - which has been put back to 1.15pm to make up for time lost yesterday.

  3. wicket

WICKET Middleton lbw b S Cook 8published at 12:46 British Summer Time 26 July 2023

    Hampshire 120 & 12-2 v Essex 169

Make that two down... both Hampshire openers are gone now as Sam Cook removes Fletcha Middleton in the next over.

Very similar to the ball from Porter that accounted for Ian Holland. Essex have two in the bag now and the home side still trail by 37 as James Vince joins forces with Nick Gubbins.

  4. 50 runs

Half-century stand for Hain & Mousleypublished at 12:43 British Summer Time 26 July 2023

    Warwickshire 60 & 112-3, Middlesex 199

The spin of Josh de Caires is introduced but Sam Hain and Dan Mousley keep the scoreboard ticking over - and the third of their three singles off the final ball of the over brings up their 50 partnership.

The Middlesex lead has now been reduced to a more slender 27.

If these two are still together when Warwickshire wipe out that 139-run first-innings lead, then the Bears will have cause to feel a great deal more optimistic about the outcome of this game.

Day Three may well dawn after all.

  5. wicket

WICKET Holland lbw b Porter 4published at 12:42 British Summer Time 26 July 2023

    Hampshire 120 & 12-1 v Essex 169

Jamie Porter took five wickets in the first innings - now he's struck in the second!

Ian Holland is trapped in front by one that kept low and the bowlers are still on top in this game.

  6. wicket

WICKET James c Leaning b Arafat 36published at 12:40 British Summer Time 26 July 2023

    Notts 349-9 v Kent

Kent have a full complement of bowling bonus points now as Arafat Bhuiyan strikes, having Lyndon James taken at second slip.

Luke Fletcher has swung the willow, lifting Joey Evison over mid-on for four and edging another boundary through the slips, but the last pair will need another run to scramble up to 350.

  7. Centurion Lyth looking in good shapepublished at 12:39 British Summer Time 26 July 2023

    Yorkshire 211-3 v Durham

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Yorkshire opener Adam Lyth's century at Scarborough was his fourth against Durham - and he's played some nice shots.included. 16 fours. And his first three scoring shots were boundaries.

He actually had 50 on the board in the morning session yesterday. However only nine overs were then possible after lunch because of heavy rain. Today though it is hot and sunny and looks a good day for run-making.

Having resumed his innings on 75, Lyth was a tad lucky to survive on 81, when he appeared to clip a ball down the legside from Ben Raine. Keeper Ollie Robinson dived a long way to his right but couldn't hold on.

He also looked to have been caught behind on 102 off Migael Pretorius, but argued the ball hadn't carried and was given the benefit of the doubt by the umpires.

  8. Aldridge has side strainpublished at 12:33 British Summer Time 26 July 2023

    Somerset 170 v Surrey 228-5

News is coming through that Kasey Aldridge has suffered a side strain - every bowler's nightmare.

It means Somerset will have to claim the last five Surrey wickets with one bowler less.

  9. Postpublished at 12:29 British Summer Time 26 July 2023

    Hampshire 120 & 1-0 v Essex 169

The third innings of the match is under way at the Ageas Bowl, with Jamie Porter and Sam Cook sending down an over apiece and Hampshire reduce the deficit by a single.

Cook has beaten the outside edge a couple of times and Ian Holland and Fletcha Middleton will need to be watchful as they build a platform here.

  10. Glammy's greatest at Derbypublished at 12:24 British Summer Time 26 July 2023

    Glamorgan 519-8 v Derbyshire

    Nick Webb
BBC Radio Wales at the Incora County Ground, Derby

Glamorgan reached their highest ever score at Derby as they moved past the 500-mark without too much difficulty after bagging a maximum batting points haul on day two.

Chris Cooke tucked into anything off line as he lashed 11 fours and two sixes in his 70 off just 51 balls before being caught at slip off Anuj Dal, who was thankfully restored to health after limping off with an ankle injury just before the close on day one.

Derbyshire had to settle for two bowling points as Andy Gorvin played the support role with 20 before he was surprised by a quicker delivery from Sam Conners, lobbing a catch behind the wicket.

But the frustration continued for the home bowlers as the ninth-wicket pair of Timm van der Gugten and Mitch Swepson were able to play with freedom and increase the potential scoreboard pressure on Derbyshire, although a good batting surface should allow them every chance of replying strongly.

  11. wicket

NORTHAMPTONSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 342published at 12:21 British Summer Time 26 July 2023

    Lancashire v Northamptonshire 342

Jack White tries to sweep one from Tom Hartley, makes a mess of it and the balls ends in Phil Salt's gloves.

A good morning for Lancashire, taking the last five wickets this morning for 40 runs in 20.1 overs.

Spin has accounted for four of those and is set to play a big part given this is effectively the sixth day of cricket on it.

Northamptonshire may feel like they should have got a bigger score, but only once Lancashire have batted on this surface can we make a better judgement.

  12. wicket

WICKET Hutton c Finch b Singh 5published at 12:20 British Summer Time 26 July 2023

    Notts 331-8 v Kent

Jas Singh has his third wicket of the innings as Brett Hutton is caught behind, steering one gently into the keeper's gloves.

Suddenly Nottinghamshire look in danger of missing out on a third bonus batting point. They need another 19 to get there, although they still have 9.3 overs available.

Out comes Luke Fletcher to try and help lift that total above 350.

  13. wicket

    WICKET Latham c C Overton b Bashir 99published at 12:20 British Summer Time 26 July 2023

    Somerset 170 v Surrey 218-5

    Would you believe it?

The first ball after that brief stoppage and Tom Latham falls one short of a maiden Surrey century.

The New Zealand batter goes to cut one off the spin of Shoaib Bashir and those bucket hands of Craig Overton at slip do the rest.

  14. Play resumes at Tauntonpublished at 12:19 British Summer Time 26 July 2023

    Somerset 170 v Surrey 218-4

A very brief shower in the West Country and play is going to resume at Taunton.

  15. 100 runs

Hundred up for Warwickshirepublished at 12:18 British Summer Time 26 July 2023

    Warwickshire 60 &101-3, Middlesex 199

Warwickshire's hundred comes up in the 33rd over - which is 11 more than the Bears lasted yesterday morning.

This stand between Sam Hain and Dan Mousley is now worth 39, comfortably the Bears' best of the match.

  16. wicket

WICKET Sales b Morley 11published at 12:17 British Summer Time 26 July 2023

    Lancashire v Northamptonshire 342-9

    A left-arm spinner's dream dismissal!

Jack Morley, bowling around the wicket to James Sales, gets one to pitch on middle and leg, turn and hit off-stump.

A crackerjack! And probably a sign of things to come on this surface.

  17. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Tauntonpublished at 12:16 British Summer Time 26 July 2023

    Somerset 170 v Surrey 218-4

The first thing to go Somerset's way this morning. Or more aptly, the first thing to halt Surrey's progress.

  18. wicket

WICKET McManus c Bailey b Hartley 10published at 12:13 British Summer Time 26 July 2023

    Lancashire v Northamptonshire 340-8

Lewis McManus tries another big shot off Tom Hartley this time, and fails!

The ball balloons up and it is safely caught at mid-on.

  19. ESSEX ALL OUT FOR 169published at 12:12 British Summer Time 26 July 2023

    Hampshire 120 v Essex 169

Liam Dawson and Ben Brown (Hampshire)Image source, Rex Features

    Or... maybe not.

Brave gesture by Shane Snater, but his mobility is clearly limited and he can't do a great deal as his third delivery from Liam Dawson pins him leg before.

So that is the end of the Essex innings, with Simon Harmer unbeaten on 20. Hampshire will begin their second dig 49 runs behind.

  20. 6 runs

Postpublished at 12:10 British Summer Time 26 July 2023

    Lancashire v Northamptonshire 339-7

The first six of the match as Lewis McManus slog sweeps one over midwicket off Jack Morley.

The ball heads towards the Party Stand. A few days ago, thousands of fans would have been cheering like mad to see Zak Crawley or Jonny Bairstow do similar.

Today, the stand is empty and the Lancashire players have to go and fetch the ball themselves!
