George Bartlett does not last long as Clark gets one jagging in from outside off.

    Hampshire v Essex 49-3 (target 83)

    Too little, too late...?

Either way, it's a deserved wicket for Mohammad Abbas, who had Nick Browne playing and missing, as well as edging one just short of second slip, before trapping him with a ball that nips back.

Essex are three down - but only 34 more needed.

  4. wicket

WICKET Leaning c Mullaney b Harrison 38published at 12:44 British Summer Time 27 July 2023

    Notts 350 v Kent 157-4

Slightly bizarre mode of dismissal, but Calvin Harrison makes the breakthrough for Nottinghamshire with his second ball.

The spinner induces an edge from Jack Leaning and the ball appeared to deflect off wicketkeeper Tom Moores, looping up for Steven Mullaney to turn at slip and complete the catch.

Alex Blake is the new man in for Kent, in his first red-ball innings for four years.

  5. wicket

Two for Surrey. Two for Jordan Clark.

Will Jacks gets another chance at third slip and makes no mistake this time and Tom Lammonby is on his way.

    Warwickshire 60 & 216-8, Middlesex 199

Four wickets in six overs. This is Warwickshire back to their form of Terrible Tuesday.

Ed Barnard offers no shot to Ryan Higgins and looks back in horror to see his furniture has been rearranged.

Oliver Hannon-Dalby, one of only four Bears to reach double figures in the first inniings, joins Henry Brookes.

The hosts lead by only 77 - and already the game looks up for Warwickshire.

Surely only the weather can halt Middlesex now.
