    Derbys 297-6 v Glamorgan 521-8 dec

Glamorgan continue to pick up wickets and Jamie McIlroy has his second, with Anuj Dal caught behind.

Six down, so that's a second bonus bowling point for Glammy and they still lead by 224.

  2. wicket

    WICKET Green c Foakes b J Overton 7published at 15:52 British Summer Time 27 July 2023

    Somerset 170 & 130-7 v Surrey 368

Only three wickets to get now for Surrey!

They keep putting the ball in the right areas and the Somerset batters keep obliging.

This time, it's Jamie Overton with the ball which has Ben Green nicking off.

  3. wicket

WICKET Quinn c sub (Hayes) b Harrison 9published at 15:52 British Summer Time 27 July 2023

    Notts 350 v Kent 308-8

Calvin Harrison is back on - and, just as he did this morning, the leg-spinner takes a wicket straight away.

Matt Quinn tries to drive him on the leg side, miscues and the ball loops up to mid-off, where substitute fielder Jack Hayes races in to take a diving catch.

Nottinghamshire will be looking to mop up the tail quickly now.

  4. wicket

WICKET Wells c Vasconcelos b White 119published at 15:49 British Summer Time 27 July 2023

    Lancashire 256-2 v Northamptonshire 342

Jack White has toiled away manfully and he has his reward for Northants.

Luke Wells tries to give himself a fraction of room but succeeds only in edging to slip.

A terrific innings for Wells off 186 balls and a second-wicket partnership of 142 with Josh Bohannon, which has given Lancashire a terrific platform.

  5. Postpublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 27 July 2023

    Somerset 170 & 126-6 v Surrey 368

James Rew gets four with an accidental ramp over the slips that he was looking to play much finer.

Next ball, he plays a much better shot and picks up a couple more.

  6. wicket

WICKET Evison b Paterson 49published at 15:44 British Summer Time 27 July 2023

    Notts 350 v Kent 300-7

That's two in successive overs for Dane Paterson!

It's a beauty that disposes of Joey Evison, uprooting his off stump and denying him what had seemed an inevitable half-century on his return to Trent Bridge.

We're down to the tail now as Jas Singh joins forces with Matt Quinn.

  7. 250 runs

up for the Red Rosepublished at 15:41 British Summer Time 27 July 2023

    Lancashire 253-1 v Northamptonshire 342

Luke Wells unfurls one of his best shots, through the covers to get four and bring up Lancashire's first batting point.

Next ball, he defends, sets off on a run and is sent back and would be run out but the throw misses the stumps at the batter's end.

  8. wicket

WICKET Finch b Paterson 73published at 15:36 British Summer Time 27 July 2023

    Notts 350 v Kent 293-6

Harry Finch's judgement has been pretty sound so far today - until just now.

Dane Paterson brings a ball back at Finch and his decision to leave it alone is costly as it clips the off bail.

Nottinghamshire needed that wicket, which breaks the partnership of 75 and earns them a second bowling bonus point.

  9. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 15:34 British Summer Time 27 July 2023

    Somerset 170 & 107-6 v Surrey 368

Headline news... Ben Foakes has dropped a catch!

Ben Green nicks it and it goes low between wicketkeeper and first slip, but Foakes can't cling on.

The Jonny Bairstow supporters have evidence that even the best 'keepers drop catches.

  10. wicket

WICKET Aldridge c Jacks b Lawes 5published at 15:32 British Summer Time 27 July 2023

    Somerset 170 & 107-6 v Surrey 368

Surrey are hunting a three-day win!

Kasey Aldridge slashes one into the slips and Will Jacks pouches it at third.

  11. Northants strugglingpublished at 15:28 British Summer Time 27 July 2023

    Lancashire 236-1 v Northamptonshire 342

With Middlesex winning at Edgbaston, Northamptonshire are starting to be marooned at the bottom.

Today is not going well on the field, either.

They have shipped 115 runs in just over 23 overs as Luke Wells and Josh Bohannon have dominated proceedings.

  12. wicket

Luke Wells glances one down to the long leg ropes and that is his hundred.

That is a big innings for Wells - his first century of the summer but his fifth century for the club - and his first since reaching three figures against Yorkshire last September.

It has taken him 171 balls and is putting Lancashire in a strong position.

Wells has now passed 2,000 first-class runs and averaged over 40 since joining the club. He has been an outstanding signing for Lancashire - and this innings has been full of skill and positivity on a tricky pitch.

    Classic Wells.

  14. 50 runs

for Joe Phillipspublished at 15:23 British Summer Time 27 July 2023

    Gloucs 78-1 v Worcs 406

Great effort by teenager Joe Phillips, who's registered a half-century on only his second County Championship appearance.

The 19-year-old from Cornwall gets to his 50 from 87 balls to lead Gloucestershire's response to the Pears' total of 406.

  15. wicket

WICKET Du Plooy c Cooke b McIlroy 41published at 15:18 British Summer Time 27 July 2023

    Derbys 274-4 v Glamorgan 521-8 dec

Glamorgan have picked up another wicket at Derby and it's left-armer Jamie McIlroy who does the damage.

McIlroy moves the ball away from Leus du Plooy and wicketkeeper Chris Cooke completes a sprawling catch in front of first slip.

Derbyshire are still 247 in arrears as Tom Wood joins Haider Ali in the middle.

  16. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 15:13 British Summer Time 27 July 2023

    Somerset 170 & 98-5 v Surrey 368

    Somerset should be six down!

Kasey Aldridge flashes hard at one from Dan Worrall and it flies at Tom Latham at second slip, who can only parry it above his head.

It was fast, but that is what the slip catchers are there for.

  17. 50 runs

for Josh Bohannonpublished at 15:10 British Summer Time 27 July 2023

    Lancashire 207-1 v Northamptonshire 342

Josh Bohannon is having a very consistent summer and a couple off James Sales gets him half century number five of the season.

He has been very busy today at the crease with this coming off 69 balls.

  18. 50 runs

50 partnership for Finch and Evisonpublished at 15:06 British Summer Time 27 July 2023

    Notts 350 v Kent 270-5

That's the fourth 50 partnership of this Kent innings - and the fastest by some distance, coming up in 52 balls.

Joey Evison has been the catalyst for that with a quickfire 30 and he brings up the half-century stand by slamming Brett Hutton to the midwicket fence.

  19. wicket

WICKET Abell lbw b Clark 46published at 14:56 British Summer Time 27 July 2023

    Somerset 170 & 92-5 v Surrey 368

Jordan Clark is bowling Surrey to victory!

He goes very full, yorker length and it crashes into Tom Abell's pads.

The umpire takes his time but raises the finger.

Four for Clark, five for Surrey as they head for an innings win.

  20. 1000 runs for Rewpublished at 14:50 British Summer Time 27 July 2023

    Somerset 170 & 91-4 v Surrey 368

James Rew gets a single to move to 21 and that takes him to 1000 runs in Division One - the first player to reach that landmark in 2023.

And don't forget he is only 19 - what a prospect Somerset have on their hands.
