I think it is sensible. It might have bounced into Joe Root's hands but you can't be sure so I think it is fair to give the batter a bit of leeway.

Hmmmmm. Kumar Dharmasena has decided that the ball was grounded before Joe Root took the catch.

There really wasn't any camera angles that were conclusive.

It did look like the ball bounced in Root's fingers and then rolled up, but it is so hard to tell.

    This is a massive call.

Are Joe Root's fingers under the ball?

    Hello!

Steve Smith has edged Chris Woakes to Joe Root at first slip.

Has it carried? The initial celebration was subdued but Root is saying "I think that's out".

    This could take a while.

Superb tactics from England here. Let Warner get just enough runs so that he still gets picked at The Oval. Genius!

Marnus Labuschagne looks pretty good here. He works Stuart Broad for a couple into the leg side to move 13.

He looks fidgety, which to honest is perhaps not a good sign for England.

  12. Aus 58-2published at 18.1 overs

Well that's not the right spot.

Stuart Broad goes too full and Marnus Labuschagne just pushes him back down the ground for four.

    Lovely shot.

At the break in play Stuart Broad is pointing and inspecting the area on the pitch that is providing the uneven bounce.

He wants all of his team-mates to come and have a look.

Fantastic bowling from Chris Woakes, he gave David Warner a real working over the top of off stump. He played and missed a couple of times but this time was indecisive and chopped on.

    Warner b Woakes 28 (Aus 54-2)

    BOWLED HIMMMMM!

Brilliant stuff from Chris Woakes. He homes in on fifth/sixth stump line and has Warner defending and then playing and missing.

Warner feels he has to play at this one and gets a thick inside edge onto the stumps.

    Woakes just keeps on delivering.

Hmmm. Another one keeps slightly lower on Marnus Labuschagne but he's able to get to get it through point for a single.

The sun is shining over Old Trafford. We hopefully shouldn't have any problems with the weather today.

That's encouraging for the England seam bowlers. They won't mind seeing that.
