    Bowled him!

Mark Wood picks up four through point before he's bowled having a big ol' heave ho.

He was trying to hit it over mid-wicket but there's a little bit of extra bounce and it crashes into middle stump.

Todd Murphy has picked up two wickets.

    Another one goes down!

After hammering Mitch Starc to the point boundary Chris Woakes is dropped at gully by Mitch Marsh.

It goes fast but Marsh gets both hands to it, in front of his face, but the ball bursts through them and England run two.

That's handy for England. This partnership is going alright. They've got 39 so far, useful.

    Oh, wow!

    There's a clear inside edge.

Chris Woakes and Mark Wood seem a bit shocked by that. They definitely didn't think an edge was going to save him.

As Glenn says the game has already progressed quite a lot.

England were 62-0 before Ben Duckett, Zak Crawley and Joe Root fell in quick succession to leave the hosts 73-3.

None were particularly good balls, but Crawley had been giving a good working over by Pat Cummins, playing and missing at five of the past 10 balls.

This game continues to move at a rate of knots. England are setting a new standard with how quickly they are scoring. In the past if you had lost seven wickets by this stage you would have only 170 or 180 on the board.

    Thanks Sam.

That session absolutely flew by. I had my head down in some other work and then looked up and the players were walking off.

I thought it was raining or they'd gone off for bad light.

Good news on the weather front.

So, with a full session of cricket in prospect, I'm off for a brew and it's time for me to hand you over to Callum Matthews.

The rain which was forecast for around tea time looks like it is going to bypass the ground so we should go through to the close of play uninterrupted.

England are ticking along at a clean five runs by tea. There's lots to play for in this Test match still. Mitchell Starc bowled well, and looked very threatening. Australia's bowlers have punched back after England looked quite comfortable earlier.

  20. Tea - Eng 250-7published at 50 overs

Quick single to end the over, it takes England to 250 and that is tea.

A good session for Australia, four wickets in it but England added another 119 runs with Chris Woakes and Mark Wood combining for a useful eighth wicket stand.
