  4. Leicestershire need a minor miraclepublished at 15:56 British Summer Time 12 September 2023

    Sussex 262 & 344-9 dec, Leicestershire 108 &113-3

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

Sussex are slowly working their way through the Leicestershire top order but they’ll be wary of Colin Ackermann who scored an unbeaten 277 on this ground last season and is unbeaten at tea on 59.

Rishi Patel was batting beautifully until he rather gave his wicket away caught low down by Tom Haines at mid off having added 92 for the third wicket.

Despite being a used pitch there’s not too much help for the bowlers but, even so, it would take a minor miracle to chase down the remaining 386 runs required.

  5. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Bristolpublished at 15:55 British Summer Time 12 September 2023

    Glos 377 v Derbys 394-8

One more over to get another batting point.

Leus du Plooy gets a single off the first ball of the Ed Middleton over.

The light is bad and there's rain in the air...and we're going off with four balls left in the 110th over.

A mini session lasting all of eight balls there!

  6. Tea at Old Traffordpublished at 15:53 British Summer Time 12 September 2023

    Lancashire 245-4 v Middlesex 194

Josh de Caires gives up just one run off his latest over and that is tea.

Lancashire have added 113 runs for the loss of Luke Wells in that session.

Dane Vilas remains on 86 not out - can he go on to a farewell ton after tea?

  7. 100 runs

100 for Leus du Plooypublished at 15:52 British Summer Time 12 September 2023

    Glos 377 v Derbys 392-8

He's done it! That's his fourth Championship ton of the season.

Derbyshire will miss him when he leaves this winter.

That didn't take long - just two balls into the session.

He smashes Ollie Price down to long on for his 13th four to reach the landmark in 151 balls.

  8. Postpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 12 September 2023

    Lancashire 244-4 v Middlesex 194

The wicket of Luke Wells has certainly slowed up Lancashire's scoring but Middlesex could do with another quick wicket or two.

    They trail by 50 already.

    Yorkshire 500, Glamorgan 273 & 35-2

Lyndon James will get a single, nudging Michael Hogan into the off side.

Joe Clarke steers a short ball to third man for a single.

Clarke picks up a single off Aron Nijjar at the other end and Lyndon James defends.

Four session left in the game but Notts would have to do something extraordinary to last that long.

Stunning catch by Zak Crawley to dismiss Tom Moores before the break.

  12. Tea at Hovepublished at 15:38 British Summer Time 12 September 2023

    Sussex 262 & 344-9 dec v Leicestershire 108 & 113-3

Colin Ackermann reaches tea 59 not out, but the loss of Rishi Patel for 40 after their stand of 92 will make tea much sweeter for Sussex.

Leicestershire need 386 more runs to pull off the unlikeliest of run chases.

Far more likely, the home side need seven wickets for victory.

  13. Tea at Bristolpublished at 15:32 British Summer Time 12 September 2023

    Glos 377 v Derbys 388-8

A frustrating session for Gloucestershire who have conceded an innings lead, thanks in the main to an unbeaten 97 from Leus du Plooy.

This game is almost certainly heading for a draw.

    Yorkshire 500, Glamorgan 273 & 30-2

Glamorgan lose their second wicket at Sophia Gardens.

And it's a first for spinner Dom Bess, who adds to his one in the first innings.

Shaping into a better end to the season for the England spinner than seemed likely at one stage, when he was twice sent out on loan.

  15. wicket

WICKET Moores c Crawley b Hogan 0published at 15:31 British Summer Time 12 September 2023

    Kent 446 v Notts 265 & 78-5 f/o

Stunning catch! How did Zak Crawley get that?

Left-hander Tom Moores hangs out the bat, edges a widish ball from Michael Hogan - and Crawley scoops the ball up one-handed just off the grass, diving to his right at full stretch.

His four-ball duck completes a pair for Moores in the match, after lasting only eight balls in the first innings.

Notts are in tatters. Lyndon James is in next.

    Oh no, Rishi Patel!

He has batted so nicely but his eyes light up when Ari Karvelas offers a bit of width, but he steers his attempted drive in the air to mid-off.

Patel is distraught with himself as he slowly makes his way off the field.

  17. wicket

    That takes him to 40.

The tea interval will be at 3:40.

Can Kent prize another Notts batter out before then?
