    Suddenly a glimmer of hope for Yorkshire.

    Glamorgan lead the Tykes by 78, but have lost a fourth wicket.

    Straight after completing 1,000 first-class runs for the season, Kiran Carlson edges a catch down the leg side to keeper Jonny Tattersall - and that earns Tykes debutant Ben Cliff his first wicket.

    Billy Root is the new man in. He got a shocker in the first innings and will be looking to atone.

    A fifth for the 24-year-old who carved away Jack Carson into the off side.

    The runs required is very close to double figures.

    Ben Sanderson has now been steaming in for seven overs.

    How much longer can he go on for?

    His figures currently stand at 7-0-16-4.

    But, more importantly, it is the first hat-trick for Northants since Andrew Hall in 2010 - and the first at Edgbaston since Gareth Batty for Surrey in 2019.

    The Surrey coach might enjoy that one on his day off.

    Notts lead by 99 after this century stand between Joe Clarke (103*) and Brett Hutton, who has 63 of them from 82 balls.

    Kent are yet to turn to spin but surely, surely it can't be too long before they try something different.

    Even if they got all three wickets right now Kent will need more than two an over to secure victory.

    Sure it was nothing personal.

    Scriven has 37 from 50 balls.

    Just how crucial it is, only time will tell.
