    Surrey v Northants 166-6

Jamie Overton thinks he's got Justin Broad out LBW with his fourth ball but the umpire says no.

Justin Broad indicates he hit it after running to the other end - and the umpire signals leg bye.

    Very close. Just missing leg?

The umpires take a light meter reading but we're playing on for now.

This might be a short session though.

Dan Worrall will bowl next to Karun Nair.

  2. Bad light stops play at Worcesterpublished at 17:42 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Worcestershire 104-1 v Durham

There are nine overs remaining in the day's play but the umpires say the light isn't good enough at New Road and take the teams off.

Jake Libby is 46 not out, having reached 1,000 runs for the season, and Azhar Ali has five.

Worcestershire won't be happy at having lost so much time earlier in the day because of rain, but they have laid the foundation for a big first-innings score against a Durham attack minus Matthew Potts, who is away on England duty.

Gareth Roderick was the man to go, bowled by Bas de Leede for 52.

  3. Somerset pass 200 at Tauntonpublished at 17:40 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Somerset 201-1 v Kent

That's a lovely, flowing drive through the off side by Lewis Goldsworthy off the bowling of Daniel Bell-Drummond.

The shot yields three runs and takes Somerset to 200 in the 50th over.

  4. Play resumes at the Ovalpublished at 17:38 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Surrey v Northants 164-6

Just a short delay for bad light here.

Karun Nair and Justin Broad are making their way back to the middle.

Jamie Overton will bowl to Justin Broad.

  5. wicket

WICKET Mousley b Bamber 15published at 17:38 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Middx 121 v Warwicks 43-4

Middlesex are really back in this now.

Ethan Bamber comes around the wicket to Dan Mousley and finds more movement.

The ball goes straight through the defences of the left-hander and clatters into the top of off stump.

That's a 14th wicket of the day in a little over 54 overs.

  6. Bad light stops play at Grace Roadpublished at 17:36 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Yorks 155-9 v Leics

The umpires had a discussion after that Ben Coad dismissal.

And after just one more Will Davis delivery, the players are brought off for bad light.

    That could well be that.

There's 15 overs left in theory but it's pretty dark out there.

  7. Postpublished at 17:35 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Somerset 197-1 v Kent

How good has this innings been from Tom Lammonby?

He got off to a flying start on an emerald green surface, often scoring at better than a run a ball in the first hour - and has seldom looked troubled bar the occasional scoring shot off a thick edge.

    He now has 104.

Frustratingly for Kent, Michael Hogan is now off the field with injury.

Lammonby advances to 105 with a clip through square leg off Bhuiyan Arafat.

  8. 1,000 runs for Libbypublished at 17:35 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Worcs 103-1 v Durham

Worcestershire opener Jake Libby becomes the second player today to reach 1,000 runs for the season, following Essex captain Tom Westley.

A single off Vishwa Fernando carries him to the milestone but that will be of secondary importance to him than putting his promotion-chasing side in a position to try and win this game.

  9. Postpublished at 17:31 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Essex 286-5 v Hants

Adam Rossington square cuts Keith Barker for four and that is the 150 partnership with Matt Critchley.

Two balls later, the right-hander drives past mid-on for another boundary and moves into the 90s.

  10. wicket

WICKET Coad c Hill b Davis 6published at 17:31 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Yorks 155-9 v Leics

    Will Davis has four.

Ben Coad looks to play a few shots but lobs the ball up in the air to George Hill.

The fielder has to readjust, thinking Coad had hit the ball straighter and cleaner, before taking a good low catch.

Yorkshire have lost their last eight wickets for just 76 runs.

  11. 150 runs

up for Yorkshirepublished at 17:29 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Yorks 151-8 v Leics

Ben Coad takes a two off Scott Currie and Yorkshire limp past the 150 mark.

How many more can the Tykes add from their final two wickets?

  12. 50 runs

for Gareth Roderickpublished at 17:27 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Worcs 95-1 v Durham

Gareth Roderick reaches 50 off 73 balls with a boundary off Bas de Leede, but is bowled by the Dutchman's next delivery.

Roderick played all around that as he tried to clip it to leg and his middle stump is uprooted.

Jake Libby is 44 not out at the other end - one short of 1,000 runs for the season.

  13. Postpublished at 17:27 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Middx 121 v Warwicks 30-3.

After another maiden from Tim Murtagh (3-8), Ryan Higgins replaces Ethan Bamber at the Pavilion End.

John Simpson whips the bails off to a legside delivery from Higgins.

Dan Mousley was comfortably behind the line, but it was am impressive piece of athleticism from the 35-year-old.

    Two from the over.

  14. Bad light stops play at the Ovalpublished at 17:25 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Surrey v Northants 164-6

After surviving a very difficult catching chance behind the stumps before scoring a run, Justin Broad has his first boundary with a tidy drive down the ground off Tom Lawes for four.

But the players are off the field five balls later for bad light.

Surrey will be the more frustrated team, with the last three Northants wickets falling for 19 runs.

A third bowling point must have felt tantalisingly close at that stage.

Karun Nair goes off unbeaten on 45 and his wicket is key for both sides.

  15. Postpublished at 17:24 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Essex 278-5 v Hants

Looks like it is now new-ball time at Chelmsford.

Mohammad Abbas will take it and Hampshire will be looking for a wicket or two in this 14-over mini-session to stumps.

Matt Critchley and Adam Rossington have so far added 146 for the sixth wicket.

  16. 100 runs

We're having a change of ball at Taunton with Tom Lammonby on 97.

Joey Evison bowls into leg stump and the ball is turned away to the on side... for two runs.

Another leg side ball is clipped away in front of square...

There's the single! That's first century for Somerset this season in which he has also made four half centuries.

    137 balls and eight fours.

The Somerset faithful applaud a fine innings which may play a major part in Somerset's chances of getting at least a draw out of this game to stay in Division One.

  17. Postpublished at 17:20 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Essex 276-5 v Hants

Occasional spinner Nick Gubbins starts his second over as Hampshire look to hurry to the new ball.

Adam Rossington pulls him fine for four and although the new ball is now due, Liam Dawson continues from the other end.

  18. wicket

WICKET Mike b Davis 25published at 17:19 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Yorks 147-8 v Leics

Yorkshire are falling in a heap.

Will Davis finds a little extra bounce which takes Ben Mike by surprise.

It appears to strike him on his elbow and ricochets down onto the stumps.

An entertaining run-a-ball innings comes to an end.

  19. dropped catch

Justin Broad dropped on 0published at 17:19 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Surrey v Northants 157-6

Karun Nair moves to 44 with a lovely drive down the ground off Tom Lawes for four.

But batting looks like a far tougher occupation at the other end.

A brutal ball from Jamie Overton flies off the edge of Justin Broad's bat and has Surrey keeper Ben Foakes jumping at full stretch.

    But he can't hang on.

However, you get the feeling another chance is not too far away.

  20. Postpublished at 17:15 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Worcs 79-0 v Durham

Still no joy for Durham at New Road.

Bas de Leede is wide and short and Gareth Roderick cuts for four.

He is 41 not out and Jake LIbby has 35.
