    Yorks 147-7 v Leics

Scott Currie takes a second to break a useful partnership.

It's another disappointing dismissal from the Yorkshire point of view as Matthew Revis edges to wicketkeeper Ben Cox.

He takes the catch diving to his right in front of first slip.

Will Leicester have time for a bat tonight?

There are 18 overs left, potentially.

    Essex 261-5 v Hants

    Essex accelerate.

Adam Rossington takes two steps out of his crease and lifts Felix Organ over wide long-on for six.

Organ drops short at the end of the over and Matt Critchley has loads of time to steady himself before pulling to mid-wicket for four.

  3. wicket

WICKET Davies lbw b Murtagh 6published at 17:12 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Middx 121 v Warwicks 25-3

    Guess who?

The fairytale ending continues for Tim Murtagh who gets one to nip back up the Lord's slope.

It beats the defensive prod forward of Alex Davies and hits him on the knee roll bang in front.

He has no complaints and Murtagh has 3-7 off 28 balls.

  4. wicket

WICKET McManus b Lawes 6published at 17:11 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Surrey v Northants 151-6

One ball after taking Northants to 150 with a steer wide of the slip cordon to third man for four, Lewis McManus has gone.

That's a third wicket for Tom Lawes.

Full, straight and ripping out off stump.

Justin Broad is the next batter in for Northants.

    Essex 250-5 v Hants

Adam Rossington steers Liam Dawson into the covers for one and Essex have their first batting point.

They could do with two or three more before the end of this innings but that may depend on how far these two can extend this partnership.

    Yorks 142-6 v Leics

Ben Mike has decided to play a few shots and counter-attack.

The former Leicestershire man plays a lovely straight drive back past Scott Currie.

He then hooks Currie over the rope for the first six of the innings. He;s raced to 21 off 18 balls.

Mike and Matt Revis have added 30 in five overs.

  8. Somerset back on at Tauntonpublished at 17:07 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

  9. Postpublished at 17:06 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Essex 247-5 v Hants

Adam Rossington plays too early as he tried to turn Felix Organ to leg and the ball loops off the edge but just out of reach of James Vince at slip. Just one run from the over but Essex are in sight of their first batting point.

  10. Postpublished at 17:05 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Surrey v Northants 142-5

Northants are in grave danger of unravelling here, but they'll have hope of a batting point or two with Karun Nair still at the crease.

Nair gets four runs driving between cover and extra to move on to 39.

20 overs left tonight, conditions permitting.

  11. Postpublished at 17:01 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Surrey v Northants 138-5

The physio has left the field and Saif Zaib will bat on.

    Two balls later he's gone.

Zaib, perhaps still thinking about that brutal bumper earlier in the over, is half forward to defend and gets a thin edge through to the Surrey keeper Ben Foakes.

The new batter is Lewis McManus.

  12. wicket

WICKET Brathwaite c Simpson b Murtagh 3published at 17:01 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Middx 121 v Warwicks 13-2

    A second for Tim Murtagh.

A beauty from the Irishman who tempts Kraigg Brathwaite to push at a ball a little wide of off-stump.

Wicketkeeper John Simpson does the rest, diving to his right to take a brilliant low catch in front of first slip.

How many times has that dismissal entered the Middlesex scorebooks?

Almost two in an over as Alex Davies just about clears the slip cordon for four.

Josh de Caires is going off for some treatment after his unsuccessful attempt at full pelt to stop a Will Rhodes boundary.

The ball keeps de Caires interested but it just beats him to the rope and the batter rolls over the covers.

He looks shaken, but not badly hurt.

  14. ouch!

Postpublished at 16:57 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Surrey v Northants 138-4

Jamie Overton is back into the attack - which will be a relief for Surrey after he briefly left the field with a side injury this morning after bowling 17 deliveries.

Karun Nair gets a single off the first ball and Saif Zaib gets a brutal ball that spits up off a length and falls safely back down to the ground via the glove.

    The physio is coming on.

  15. 50 runs

for Adam Rossingtonpublished at 16:56 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Essex 237-5 v Hants

If you're going to do it - do it in style.

Adam Rossington steps down the pitch and hits Liam Dawson for six to reach his first Championship 50 of the season off 83 balls.

It also brings up the 100 partnership with Matt Critchley.

    somerset 165-1 v Kent

Tom Lammonby moves to 89 with the neatest of front foot glances through mid on off Jas Singh for four runs.

He'll have to wait a while to add 11 more runs to the tally though because it's raining again and the players are leaving the field.

  17. Postpublished at 16:53 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Essex 229-5 v Hants

A streaky four for Matt Critchley, who tries to cut Felix Organ but edges past the right hand of slip.

He moves to 63 not out and this partnership is now worth 97.

Kraigg Brathwaite gets the Bears first knock going with a single off Ethan Bamber.

Will Rhodes then gets off the mark with a boundary to the Middlesex seamer.

I imagine there will be some relief in that.

  19. Postpublished at 16:51 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Worcs 62-0 v Durham

This is exactly the start Worcestershire would have wanted if you'd asked them to script the start of the match.

A couple for Jake Libby in Ben Raine's latest over and he joins Gareth Roderick on 31 not out.

There are 20 more overs scheduled today.
