    Surrey v Northants 132-3

Rob Keogh has settled after a scratchy start against Tom Lawes, moving to 12 with a back foot drive behind point off the same bowler for four runs.

A single off the fifth ball.

Keogh gets two more with an on drive off Jordan Clark at the other end.

A play and a miss is followed up with a flick behind square for a single.

Northants are scoring steadily and forcing Surrey to work hard for their wickets.

    Yorks 112-6 v Leics

Jonny Tattersall is dismissedImage source, Rex Features

    Another for Tom Scriven.

It's a poor shot selection from Johnny Tattersall as he tries a late cut, but succeeds only in chopping the ball straight to the midriff of Rishi Patel at first slip. Neat catch.

The procession of batters continues as Ben Mike walks to the crease.

Yorkshire were at one point 79-1.

    Middx 121 v Warwicks 0-1

Ethan Bamber opens with a maiden at the Pavilion End which causes Kraigg Brathwaite a few problems.

This pitch is offering plenty for the bowlers.

Eleven wickets already today, despite the rain delay - and there may well be more.

Tim Murtagh then serves up another maiden to Bears skipper Will Rhodes. Tough going.

  4. Postpublished at 16:42 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Essex 209-5 v Hants

Kyle Abbott overpitches with a no-ball and Adam Rossington drives it down the ground for four. He is 40 not out and that is his highest Championship score of the season.

  5. Somerset reach 150 at Tauntonpublished at 16:37 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Somerset 150-1 v Kent

Lewis Goldsworthy drives Michael Hogan through the off side for two - and that takes Somerset to 150 in the 38th over.

In theory we have 25 overs left tonight for Kent to pick up some bowling points.

But Somerset are looking very comfortable here.

  6. 50 runs

for Matt Critchleypublished at 16:35 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Essex 202-5 v Hants

Matt Critchley cuts Felix Organ away for two runs and reaches 50 from 70 balls, and takes the score past 200 as well.

Only two fours and a six by the former Derbyshire all-rounder so far, so he's done quite a bit of running.

That's seven half-centuries and two hundreds this season for Critchley. An impressive effort for his team.

  7. Postpublished at 16:35 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Essex 197-5 v Hants

Kyle Abbott charged in again and Adam Rossington slices it past the slip cordon and away for four.

The paceman sends down a wide one later in the over and Rossington flays it through the covers for four more.

    A Caribbean-style stroke on a very un-Caribbean day.

  8. Postpublished at 16:33 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Worcs 49-0 v Durham

Good timing by Jake Libby, who stands tall and punches Paul Coughlin for four through the covers at the start of a new over.

Coughlin loses his line later in the over and Libby flicks it away square for four more to move to 29 not out.

That's 984 runs for the season now.

    Middx 121 v Warwicks 0-1

Tim Murtagh takes a wicketImage source, Rex Features

    Who writes his scripts?

Charging in from the Nursery End as he has so many times before, Tim Murtagh induces a cut from Rob Yates to a ball that was never there to cut.

He chops on to his stumps. It's taken Murtagh two balls - career wicket number 1,008.

    And a wicket maiden.

  10. Postpublished at 16:31 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Middx 121 v Warwicks

Rob Yates begins the Bears reply as they look to make inroads into Middlesex's small total.

Tim Murtagh is to open the bowling for perhaps the last time at Lord's.

A poignant moment, but they need wickets and quick.

  11. Postpublished at 16:30 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Surrey v Northants 114-3

Jordan Clark is steaming in for Surrey and has Karun Nair playing and missing outside off.

He oversteps with his third delivery for a no ball.

Karun Nair sways out of the way of a bouncer and survives the over.

Tom Lawes is back into the attack. This will be his sixth over.

Rob Keogh plays and misses outside off.

He drives the fifth ball but can't clear point and misses the next ball which cuts back off the seam and just bounces over the top of the stumps.

The next ball seams the other way and Keogh leaves. Maiden over.

  12. wicket

WICKET Masood lbw b Wright 34published at 16:26 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Yorks 98-5 v Leics

Yorkshire are collapsing at Grace Road.

It's a big wicket as Shan Masood falls to the second ball after tea without adding to his 34.

Chris Wright pins Masood in front and Yorkshire have lost three wickets for seven runs.

  13. 50 runs

stand for Essexpublished at 16:25 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Essex 182-5 v Hants

Matt Critchley pulls a short one from Felix Organ. It's only a single but it brings up a 50 partnership with Adam Rossington - the second of the innings. Critchley is 45 not out.

  14. Postpublished at 16:24 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Worcs 41-0 v Durham

Durham decide four overs is enough with the new ball from Vishwa Fernando. He's been quite expensive, conceding 21 so far, and Paul Coughlin takes over.

  15. dropped catch

Lammonby dropped on 76published at 16:23 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Somerset 145-1 v Kent

Michael Hogan bowls into Lewis Goldsworthy's leg stump and a sweetly timed clip to the on side is picked up just inside the boundary rope to keep it to two runs.

Hogan adjusts his line and has Goldsworthy playing and missing outside off.

But crucially for Kent, no bowling points yet.

And that's going to hurt Kent!

Tom Lammonby gets and edge off the bowling of Jas Singh at the other end and a sharp chance is missed by Daniel Bell-Drummond in the gully.

MIDDLESEX ALL OUT FOR 121published at 16:21 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    De Caires c Mousley b Hannon-Dalby 40

    Oliver Hannon-DalbyImage source, Rex Features

Josh De Caires' dash for runs comes to an end.

He's left shaking his head as he picks out Dan Mousley at midwicket to give Oliver Hannon-Dalby a treasured five-wicket haul at Lord's.

The innings lasted just 35.1 overs, but Warwickshire will also face some testing conditions when Tim Murtagh and co get the new ball in hand.

    The Bears attack were superb.

  17. 6 runs

Josh de Cairespublished at 16:19 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Middx 119-9 v Warwicks

    Where did that come from?

Josh de Caires moves onto 38 as he hooks Oliver Hannon-Dalby into the stands for the first six of the innings.

With only Tim Murtagh left for company, he decides to go on the offensive and scramble some late innings runs.

  18. Postpublished at 16:18 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Essex 177-5 v Hants

You can only admire Keith Barker's consistency.

Only a single off the bat for Adam Rossington in his latest - that's just 16 runs conceded by the left-armer from 15 bowled and Essex have only hit one boundary off him.

  19. Foxes fightback before teapublished at 16:15 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Yorks 96-4 v Leics

Leicestershire have fought back well after a lightning start by Yorkshire.

Having been put in under gloomy skies at Grace Road, Finlay Bean (40) and Shan Masood were racing along after Adam Lyth’s departure to a loose shot.

But Will Davis removed the dangerous Bean and then an all-at-sea James Wharton to level up the session.

Masood has looked particularly good and remains unbeaten on 34 from 42 balls but he will be urging the next man in to stay with him when the sides return.

  20. wicket

WICKET Azad c Foakes b Worrall 48published at 16:11 British Summer Time 19 September 2023

    Surrey v Northants 106-3

Dan Worrall takes a wicketImage source, Rex Features

Hassan Azad has been suckered into loose leg side strokes a few times in this innings - and this time it costs him his wicket.

Dan Worrall bowls short, tucking the opener up down the leg side and Azad pulls the ball straight to the Surrey keeper.

A patient innings with lots of discipline on the off stump deliveries comes to an end.

The new batter is Rob Keogh.
