Kent v Lancashire 126-4
The box of tricks, sorry the box of balls, is out at Canterbury.
Kent want something different as they try to get a first wicket of this afternoon session.
Yorkshire v Worcestershire 46-2
Batting at Headingley has plenty of risk, but there is usually reward for a batter's shots too.
Jake Libby clips George Hill's first ball for four and then drives the next through the covers for four more.
Libby has hit six fours and has made his way to 32.
Sussex have collapsed after lunch against Gloucestershire.
Matt Taylor has run through the hosts, who have slumped from 116-4 to 117-8, and the left-armer has 5-14.
Will Gloucestershire finally get their first win of the season?
Champions Durham are building a solid foundation against Leicestershire having moved to 149-3.
And Derbyshire, who are also without a victory this year, are looking good on 121-1 against Glamorgan. Luis Reece has 69.
Kent v Lancashire 125-4
Scott Read
BBC Radio Lancashire commentator
Josh Bohannon is currently the leading run-scorer in Division One, in what could be a landmark season for him.
It's the first time he's gone past 1,000 runs in a season after totals north of 800 in the previous two seasons.
Composed at the crease, unflustered, hardly ever seems rushed and plays as if he's got all the time in the world.
Solid in defence and stylish in attack he has made the number three spot at Old Trafford his own.
He's a "Test match batsman" in the view of David Lloyd who has joined us on commentary throughout the season, and since making his debut in 2018 he's been on an upward curve, which if it continues will only strengthen his case for full England honours.
Kent v Lancashire 125-4
A first real shot in anger from George Balderson as he drives Nathan Gilchrist for four.
Balderson has had a real breakthrough summer for Lancashire with his first two centuries and 19 wickets with the ball.
Warwickshire v Somerset - play to start at 14:10 BST
Good news from Birmingham - they've mopped up and play will get under way in about 40 minutes time.
Not a huge amount at stake in this one, although Warwickshire will be hoping to sneak above Hampshire and into third place.
The Bears started the day three points behind Hants.
Sixth-placed Somerset meanwhile will either finish the campaign, fifth, sixth or seventh in Division One. A fairly disappointing season for them.
Northants 47-2 v Essex
Northants trying to settle at Wantage Road.
Hazan Azad is playing for a contract having signed for Northants on a deal only for this summer as injury cover.
But he's played eight matches before this after problems first for Emilio Gay and latterly Ricardo Vasconcelos.
He's only made 258 runs with one fifty so needs something substantial this week if Northants are going to be tempted to keep him on.
23 not out so far with three clipped leg side boundaries and a edge that's not carried to second slip and flown to the fence.
Nottinghamshire v Middlesex - start delayed
Not good news from Trent Bridge.
The umpires will inspect again at 14:00 BST as the outfield is very wet.
It feels like the clock is ticking on Middlesex's time as a Division One team.
Kent v Lancashire 111-4
A lovely cut shot behind square from Josh Bohannon for four. He really is strong square of the wicket.
That takes Lancashire to Nelson. This always makes us think of late, great umpire David Shepherd!
Yorkshire v Worcestershire 22-2
Classic Headingley bowling from Ben Coad.
Right length, right line, Azhar Ali not sure whether to play or leave and the ball is in the hands of Adam Lyth at second slip.
Not a good start for the Pears in their pursuit of two points for promotion.
Yorkshire v Worcestershire 14-1
Yorkshire have four slips in place for a reason and Ben Coad shows why.
The paceman puts the ball in the right spot to get Gareth Roderick nibbling and it's taken low down by Fin Bean at third slip.
Northants 23-2 v Essex
Second strike for Essex.
Jamie Porter with a length ball from round the wicket that left-hander Luke Procter plays very poorly.
He almost turns himself around, plays right across it and gets a thick low edge to third slip, good catch from Paul Walter.
Hants 60-4 v Surrey
A shortened morning after the delayed start but an almost-perfect one for Surrey.
They won the toss and have taken four cheap wickets and already have one of the five points they need to secure the title.
Kemar Roach with two and one each for Tom Lawes and Jordan Clark.
Hampshire in a huge hole. What resistance can they find after lunch?
Yorkshire v Worcestershire 13-0
A fairly watchful start from the Worcestershire openers at Headingley.
Although Jake Libby has a life as he edges a Ben Coad delivery between first and second slips.
With only 80 overs due, the Pears will do well to reach 300 today and secure the two batting points that would guarantee promotion.
Northants 14-1 v Essex
Can Essex reply?
This is a good start as Sam Cook gets one to hold its line from just outside off and graze the edge of Emilio Gay through to Adam Rossington.
Hants 59-4 v Surrey
Bowled him with a beauty!
A sharp nip-backer from Jordan Clark goes straight through Fletcha Middleton to clip his bails.
Middleton a little late coming forward and it proved fatal.
Dream morning this for Surrey.
Glamorgan v Derbyshire 95-1
Nick Webb
BBC Radio Wales
Luis Reece and Harry Came have given Derbyshire a solid start despite failing to make three figures against Glamorgan for the first time this season.
The pair put on 165 and an unbeaten 360 in the earlier Championship match in Derby, plus 134 in the One-Day Cup, and looked untroubled after being put in on a strangely patchwork-coloured pitch.
Came was dropped by Colin Ingram at slip in Dan Douthwaite’s first Championship over since April, but then was neatly caught behind low down for 32, driving at Zain Ul Hassan’s first ball.
Reece’s half-century came off 74 balls during a session which allowed Sue Redfern, the first female umpire in the Championship, the luxury of having no contentious decisions to make.
Sussex 114-4 v Gloucs - lunch, day one
Adrian Harms
BBC Sussex
It was hardly surprising that the visitors chose to bowl first on a greenish looking track at Hove, as they looked for their first County Championship win of the season.
Perhaps what was surprising was the wicket turned as well, as a mixture of seam and spin accounted for the four wickets that have fallen.
Tom Haines has led the Sussex fightback reaching his sixth half-century of the season, and he’ll be keen to convert to three figures for the first time this season.
Hants 53-3 v Surrey
Just a couple of overs for Jamie Overton. Tom Lawes takes over and strikes fourth ball!
He gets a fraction extra bounce from a good line just outside off.
James Vince is trying to force it off the back foot when it's probably too tight a line and nicks high to second slip.
Dom Sibley with good hands again, this time by his right shoulder.
First point on the board for Surrey. Four more to secure the title.
Northants v Essex
Essex match Surrey in winning the toss and electing to field.
A chance to get ahead of the game today in what surely will be favourable bowling conditions.
Start at 12:40 BST.
