WICKET Holland c Foakes b Roach 11published at 14:54 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    Hants 117-7 v Surrey

Oh this is a stinker for Ian Holland.

He goes to flick a ball from Kemar Roach way down leg and gets a little touch through to Ben Foakes.

Roach strikes in the fifth over of his second spell - with probably the worst ball he's bowled all season.

Holland and Ben Brown, still there on 29, had got through 11 overs together and were beginning to just make Surrey work a little. But a huge piece of ill luck has broken the stand.

  2. Middlesex batters set to face the musicpublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    Nottinghamshire v Middlesex (15:00 BST)

Middlesex captain Toby Roland-Jones has won the toss and his team are going to bat first at Trent Bridge

Roland-Jones is one of three players back in the line-up from the defeat by Warwickshire at Lord's along with batters Max Holden and Steve Eskinazi.

Middlesex: Robson, Stoneman, Holden, Eskinazi, Higgins, Simpson (wk), de Caires, Yadav, Roland-Jones (c), Helm, Bamber.

Notts, whose safety was confirmed last week, include Jake Ball on his farewell appearance.

Notts: Slater, Hameed, Mullaney (c), Clarke, Montgomery, Moores (wk), James, Harrison, Hutton, Ball, Paterson.

  3. 100 runs

    Kent v Lancashire 196-4

Beautiful shot through midwicket from George Balderson for four - real style in how he dealt with that Joey Evison half-volley.

Balderson moves to 35 and his partnership with Josh Bohannon reaches three figures.

  4. Clark & Bedingham steady Durhampublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    Durham 200-4 v Leicestershire

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

David Bedingham and Graham Clark have restored a bit of stability in the afternoon session after Durham lost 3-34 in nine overs either side of lunch.

They have put on 50 runs in 65 balls and taken the side to 200-4. Once they reach 250 Durham will have earned their 50th batting point of the season - a new club record.

It would beat their 49 points from the 16-game season of 2009. Back then though the first point was earned at 200 runs and not the 250 mark set this year.

The sun is shining and the Leicestershire attack looks blunt now. The likes of Josh Hull and Will Davis have not been able to emulate the tight bowling of Tom Scriven and Chris Wright from earlier. And there-in lies a problem for the visitors. They have had to field a weakened attack in this one.

  5. 100 runs

up for Worcestershirepublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    Yorkshire v Worcestershire 101-4

Yorkshire continue to attack and that means gaps in the field.

So when Matt Milnes drops short, Kashif Ali helps himself to four through the offside, a seventh boundary of a breezy 31.

  6. 100 runs

up for Hampshirepublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    Hants 100-6 v Surrey

Ben Brown is still there for Hampshire and is playing a few shots.

He's pulled Tom Lawes for four, slashed Jordan Clark over point and driven Kemar Roach past cover.

He's perhaps the remaining hope of avoiding a hopeless total for the home side.

  7. 100 runs

for Josh Bohannonpublished at 14:33 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    Kent v Lancashire 189-4

There it is, Josh Bohannon works Joey Evison through the legside and it beats the field to bring him the four runs he needs.

That is a fourth century of a wonderful summer for the Lancashire number three.

This knock has taken 143 balls and it is giving his own team a good platform, a headache for Kent and a boost for Middlesex.

  8. Postpublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    Warwickshire v Somerset 12-2

Both Somerset openers, Sean Dickson and Tom Lammonby, are already back in the hutch at Edgbaston.

Lammonby was bowled by Chris Rushworth before Dickson was pinned lbw by Oliver Hannon-Dalby.

12-2 and two batters on nought.

  9. wicket

WICKET Nair b Porter 21published at 14:24 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    Northants 95-4 v Essex

    Huge wicket for Essex!

The former India Test batsman Karun Nair has made 78 and 150 in his two knocks so far for Northants but a failure today.

Jamie Porter is on a really good length and nips one back to beat the inside edge and find off stump.

    Essex now right on top.

  10. 6 runs

Postpublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    Kent v Lancashire 182-4

The first six of the match comes from Josh Bohannon's mighty blade.

Dancing down the wicket, he launches Yazvendra Chahal emphatically over long-on for a maximum.

He is now up to 95.

  11. Play to begin at Trent Bridge at 15:00 BSTpublished at 14:15 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    Nottinghamshire v Middlesex (15:00 BST)

Good news from Robin Hood country and good news for Middlesex.

The toss will take place at 14:30 BST and weather permitting, play will begin at 15:00.

There will be up to 42 overs to be bowled with tea taken at 16:15.

  12. wicket

WICKET Dawson c Overton b Lawes 13published at 14:12 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    Hants 84-6 v Surrey

    Tom Lawes again for Surrey!

A big drive outside off from Liam Dawson and a thick edge to the big hands of Jamie Overton at second slip.

Second point secured for Surrey, three to go.

  13. wicket

WICKET Haynes c Bean b Hill 14published at 14:03 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    Yorkshire v Worcestershire 67-4

The home side continue to exploit the conditions in Leeds.

George Hill puts the ball up to swing, it does enough to entice Jack Haynes into a drive and it flies into the hands of Fin Bean at third slip.

It was straight at him, but Bean took it with the look of a good slipper.

Worcestershire may do well to get any batting points from this innings.

  14. wicket

WICKET Azad lbw b Harmer 32published at 14:03 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    Northants 63-3 v Essex

Hassan Azad had got through the seamers but falls to the second ball of Simon Harmer's off-spin.

He totally misreads the length, going back to a ball much too full and can't get the bat down in time as it skids into his pad bang in front.

A first point for Essex and breaks a stand of 40 that was moving Northants into a decent position.

  15. wicket

WICKET Prest c Foakes b Lawes 11published at 14:03 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    Hants 73-5 v Surrey

It hasn't taken too long after lunch for Surrey to strike again.

Tom Prest had scratched around a little and, much like his captain James Vince, goes to force a ball off the back foot that's too close to him.

Again there's a hint of bounce from Tom Lawes and thin edge through to Ben Foakes.

  16. 50 runs

partnershippublished at 13:56 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    Kent v Lancashire 152-4

George Balderson skips down the pitch to Yazvendra Chahal, turns it into a full toss and hits the ball for four.

Then Chahal's next ball goes for four leg byes and that is the 50 partnership between him and Josh Bohannon.

  17. Postpublished at 13:53 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    Kent v Lancashire 143-4

Lovely stuff from Josh Bohannon as he cracks Matt Quinn away for three boundaries in four balls.

The first is a cut off the back foot, then he guides one past point before chopping another one to deep third.

He is strong just short of a length outside his off-stump. And he is now up to 78.

  18. Good spell for Foxespublished at 13:53 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    Durham 149-4 v Leicestershire

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Durham have lost three wickets for 34 runs either side of lunch. Scott Borthwick was the first to go, just before the break. He was caught behind off Tom Scriven for 63, with the keeper Ben Cox standing up to the stumps.

Scriven then bowled Michael Jones for 37, with the first ball after lunch, before Chris Wright came back into the attack and took a wicket with his first ball of the afternoon.

Ollie Robinson was on 12 when he clipped the bowler straight to Scriven at mid-wicket.

So it's been a good spell for the visitors. Can David Bedingham and Graham Clark now get Durham out of this spot of bother?

  19. Postpublished at 13:48 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    Hants 64-4 v Surrey

    Back out in West End.

Hampshire in massive bother and have Liam Dawson, after his tremendous match-winning innings at Essex last week, and Tom Prest resuming.

Jordan Clark and Tom Lawes, a wicket apiece so far, to continue for Surrey.

  20. wicket

WICKET Libby lbw b Hill 32published at 13:46 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    Yorkshire v Worcestershire 50-3

No sooner does the 50 come up and then Jake Libby is on his way.

He gets trapped in front by George Hill and there is little doubt that the ball was on the way to hit the stumps.

The Pears remain in a spot of trouble.
