    Image caption,

Rilee Rossouw scored 70 runs in six innings for Oval Invincibles in the 2022 tournament.

Ben Duckett will be one of the most sought-after domestic players in the highest price band, and Spirit will be among the teams keen to sign him given his left-handedness and ability to bat more or less anywhere in the middle order.

Should they get him, it would allow them to target an overseas player at £100k, with the likes of Pakistan's Azam Khan, West Indies' Sherfane Rutherford or South Africa's Rilee Rossouw within reach at that level.

  3. What do London Spirit need in the draft?published at 15:08 Greenwich Mean Time 23 March 2023

    London Spirit

The Spirit lack experienced leaders with Eoin Morgan and Kieron Pollard leaving.

Elsewhere, they need a left-hander to bat in the top six and need to find a finisher to round off their order.

The bowling attack looks strong and with plenty of variety, so their third pick could be a spare batter.

What price brackets do they have open?

    £125,000, £100,000 & £30,000.

    What picks do they have?

There are going to be 30 signings made in the men's draft and Spirit have the following picks: 4, 10, 30.

Glenn Maxwell scored 116 runs and took two wickets in four games for London Spirit in 2022.

London Spirit have a group of players that are or have been in the England squad and two Australia players who are in consideration for national honours too.

BBC Sport and CricViz have focussed on one of them and two of the players of the edge of England recognition.

203 - Australia's Glenn Maxwell has scored more runs with the reverse sweep (203) than any other player in T20s since start of 2020.

36 - New London Spirit captain Dan Lawrence averages 36 and has a strike-rate of 149 at Lord's, Spirit's home ground, in his T20 career.

6.73 - Left-arm spinner Liam Dawson has a powerplay economy rate of 6.73 in T20s since start of 2020.

  5. Who have London Spirit retained?published at 15:06 Greenwich Mean Time 23 March 2023

    London Spirit

    • Mark Wood (Eng)
    • Glenn Maxwell (£125k)
    • Nathan Ellis (£100k)
    • Liam Dawson (£75k)
    • Dan Lawrence (£75k)
    • Zak Crawley (£60k)

    • Mason Crane (£50k)
    • Adam Rossington (£50k)
    • Chris Wood (£40k)
    • Ravi Bopara (£40k)

London Spirit finished third last year and they are another team to retain 10 players for 2023. They have filled two overseas spots meaning they have one available in the draft.

  6. Who might Birmingham Phoenix target?published at 15:04 Greenwich Mean Time 23 March 2023

    Birmingham Phoenix

Ben Duckett plays a shot for Welsh Fire in the 2022 HundredImage source, Getty Images
    Image caption,

Despite Welsh Fire being winless in 2022 Ben Duckett scored 220 runs to make him the sixth-highest run-scorer in the tournament.

Any one of Fred Klaassen, Reece Topley or David Willey would make sense as a left-arm quick bowler and all would be easily gettable should they decide to use their first pick on that role.

More likely is they will use that slot for the batter they need, with Ben Duckett an attractive option given his ability to keep wicket.

Should they decide Chris Benjamin's keeping is good enough, they could target Stevie Eskinazi in one of the lower bands.

  7. What do Birmingham Phoenix need in the draft?published at 15:04 Greenwich Mean Time 23 March 2023

    Birmingham Phoenix

The Phoenix need an opener to partner Will Smeed, ideally one who can keep wicket as Chris Benjamin is their only recognised keeper.

They have plenty of bowling options but should target a left-arm seamer as they currently have quite a samey attack with several right-arm quicks.

Another factor to consider is all three of their overseas spots have been covered by retentions, so they will sign three domestic players.

What price brackets do they have open?

    £125,000, £50,000 and £40,000.

    What picks do they have?

There are going to be 30 signings made in the men's draft and Phoenix have the following picks: 3, 21, 26.

Benny Howell took nine wickets for Birmingham Phoenix in 2022.

Birmingham Phoenix are another side with a host of England players and international stars, seeming they have retained all three from 2022.

Here's why they've retained three of their lesser known players:

7.49 - All-rounder Benny Howell is a box of tricks with the ball and his economy rate of 7.49 in the Hundred is the third best of any English pace bowler to have bowled 100 balls or more.

233% - Quick bowler Tom Helm bowls more than twice as many yorkers in the final 25 balls of the innings (7%) than earlier in the innings (3%). Yorkers are generally harder for a batter to hit away.

93mph - New Zealand pace bowler Adam Milne is capable of bowling speeds above 93mph

  9. Who have Birmingham Phoenix retained?published at 15:02 Greenwich Mean Time 23 March 2023

    Birmingham Phoenix

    • Chris Woakes (Eng)
    • Liam Livingstone (£125k)
    • Moeen Ali (£100k)
    • Shadab Khan (£100k)
    • Adam Milne (£75k)
    • Benny Howell (£75k)
    • Kane Richardson (£60k)
    • Will Smeed (£60k)
    • Tom Helm (£50k)
    • Chris Benjamin (£40k)
    • Dan Mousley (£30k)

Birmingham Phoenix finished fourth last year and they have retained a strong core of 10 players for the 2023 tournament. They'll be picking up three players in the draft, with all three being domestic players.

    Image caption,

David Willey took five wickets and scored 90 runs for Northern Superchargers in the 2022 Hundred.

Australia's Usman Khawaja or New Zealand's Devon Conway would be good fits for the left-handed top-order batter they need, though the latter is unlikely to be available so deep into the draft.

Pakistan's Azam Khan would be an attractive option as a middle-order hitter and has a good chance of being available.

For their remaining domestic spot, David Willey could be an option to replace the left-arm seam of the departing Topley.

  11. What do Oval Invincibles need in the draft?published at 15:00 Greenwich Mean Time 23 March 2023

    Oval Invincibles

    The Invincibles need a top-order batter, preferably a left-hander.

They also need either a finisher or another all-rounder.

With only Sunil Narine on their current roster, two of their three draft picks will have to be overseas players, though a lot of what they do will likely be dictated by what has happened earlier in the draft, as the Invincibles do not have a pick until the £60k price band.

What price brackets do they have open?

    £60,000 x2 and £40,000.

    What picks do they have?

There are going to be 30 signings made in the men's draft and Invincibles have the following picks: 18, 19, 25.

Danny Briggs (left) took seven wickets for Oval Invincibles in 2022.

There are a number of current and former England players in the Invincibles squad. BBC Sport and CricViz have looked at a couple of potentially more unfamiliar names and someone making an injury comeback.

85mph - Having missed last year's competition with a stress fracture of the back Saqib Mahmood will be determined to prove his worth in 2024. He is the fastest England bowler in the Hundred with an average speed of 85mph.

    7.20 v 8.01 - Left-arm spinner Danny Briggs has career economy rate of 7.20 against right-handers, compared to 8.01 against left-handers.

165 - Middle-order batter Jordan Cox has a strike rate of 165 in the Hundred outside the powerplay (from ball 26 onwards.

  13. Who have Oval Invincibles retained?published at 14:57 Greenwich Mean Time 23 March 2023

    • Sam Curran (Eng)
    • Sunil Narine (£125k)
    • Will Jacks (£125k)
    • Jason Roy (£100k)
    • Tom Curran (£100k)
    • Sam Billings (£75k)
    • Saqib Mahmood (£75k)
    • Jordan Cox (£50k)
    • Gus Atkinson (£50k)
    • Danny Briggs (£40k)
    • Nathan Sowter (£30k)

Oval Invincibles, who finished fifth in 2022, have retained 10 players meaning they will need three players in the draft, two of whom can be overseas.

  14. Who might Northern Superchargers target?published at 14:54 Greenwich Mean Time 23 March 2023

    Northern Superchargers

Tom Banton plays a shot for Welsh Fire in the 2022 HundredImage source, Getty Images
    Image caption,

Tom Banton has left Welsh Fire after only scoring 179 runs in the first two years of the competition.

Either Pakistan's Mohammad Rizwan or Somerset's Tom Banton would fill their requirement for both a right-hander and a wicketkeeper.

Should they opt for Banton, they would be able to use their overseas slot lower down and could target one of Sri Lanka's Maheesh Theekshana or Afghanistan's Mujeeb Ur Rahman in the £75k bracket to solve their off-spin issues.

Another option could be a domestic seamer like Olly Stone or Reece Topley.

  15. What do Northern Superchargers need in the draft?published at 14:53 Greenwich Mean Time 23 March 2023

    Northern Superchargers

The Superchargers' retentions have left them with a fairly strong core, but they could do with a right-handed top-order batter to partner and complement Adam Lyth.

That player would ideally be a wicketkeeper as well.

They are also lacking a spinner who turns the ball from left to right, with Callum Parkinson the only back-up to Adil Rashid, so an off-spinner could be on their list of targets.

What price brackets do they have open?

    £100,000 x2, £75,000 and £40,000.

    What picks do they have?

There are going to be 30 signings made in the men's draft and Superchargers have the following picks: 9, 12, 16, 24.

    Image caption,

David Wiese scored 150 runs and took seven wickets for Northern Superchargers in 2022.

BBC Sport have worked with CricViz to try and identify why teams have retained certain players. We've ignored the obvious - who wouldn't want Ben Stokes, Harry Brook and Adil Rashid in their team?

Here are some reasons they have kept three other players...

20% - Right-arm quick Brydon Carse bowls slower balls 20% of the time at the death (the final 25 balls of the innings). This makes it difficult for batters to judge and connect with the ball cleanly.

59% - Matthew Potts, who made his England debut last summer, bowls 59% of his deliveries on a good line in The Hundred, the highest percentage of any Superchargers bowler.

170 - Namibia all-rounder David Wiese has a strike-rate of 170 at the death in T20s since the start of 2020.

  17. Who have Northern Superchargers retained?published at 14:50 Greenwich Mean Time 23 March 2023

    Northern Superchargers

    • Ben Stokes (Eng)
    • Harry Brook (£125k)
    • Adil Rashid (£125k)
    • Adam Lyth (£75k)
    • Adam Hose (£60k)
    • Brydon Carse (£60k)
    • David Wiese (£50k)
    • Matthew Potts (£50k)
    • Wayne Parnell (£40k)
    • Callum Parkinson (£30k)

Northern Superchargers, who finished sixth in 2022, have retained nine players. They will be adding four at the draft, including one overseas player.

  18. Who might Southern Brave target?published at 14:48 Greenwich Mean Time 23 March 2023

    Southern Brave

    Image caption,

Tim David scored 84 runs in seven games for Southern Brave in 2022.

Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan would be an obvious pick for the Brave's first £125k slot given his availability, left-handedness and ability to bowl quality off-spin.

Australia's Tim David is another option in the top price band who would provide the Brave with the finisher they currently lack.

For domestic options, either Ben Duckett or Leus du Plooy, who have both left Welsh Fire, would address their need for left-handed top-order batters.

  19. What do Southern Brave need in the draft?published at 14:48 Greenwich Mean Time 23 March 2023

    Southern Brave

Middle-order batters, with the possibility of two of them being overseas given Finn Allen is their only overseas retention.

They would also ideally be looking for at least one left-hander in their top six, as their likely top three and current lower order are all right-handers.

The Brave may also target an off-spinner as leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed is the only spin option in their squad going into the draft.

What price brackets do they have open?

    £125,000 x2 and £75,000.

    What picks do they have?

There are going to be 30 signings in the men's draft and Brave have the following picks: 2, 7, 15.

    Southern Brave

    Image caption,

George Garton took four wickets for Southern Brave in 2022.

CricViz and BBC Sport have worked together to tell you why three of the players in each men's teams have been retained.

    Here are Southern Brave's:

74% - New Zealand opener Finn Allen is one of the most attacking in the game. He attacks 74% of the balls he faces in the powerplay, which is the first 25 balls of the innings.

14 - George Garton has taken 14 wickets in the Hundred, the most of any left-arm seamer. That is despite him suffering with what he thought was long Covid in 2022, but turned out to be a lung clot.

131 - Top-order batter Alex Davies has a strike rate of 131 against pace bowling since the start of 2020 in T20s.
