This is really impressive from skipper Alysaa Healy, who is absorbing the pressure and going for it. Alana King has done a great job for her team. Not just now, but in the first innings.

  4. Aus 254-7published at 76 overs

Lauren Filer with the final over before tea. We were slightly delayed starting the session - due in part to a power outage with DRS apparently - so the umpires generously allow another over even though we seemed to have ticked past 15:40 BST.

Healy clinically whacks Filer's third ball through backward point for a boundary before seeing off three dot balls to reach the interval with her wicket in tact.

This has been a determined knock from Alyssa Healy. She has 42 off 52 balls.

  6. Aus 248-7published at 75 overs

Sophie Ecclestone tosses up her first ball to the left-handed Alyssa Healy who takes a bite of the carrot on offer and rather unconvincingly edges a drive through gully for a couple.

Healy works a single into the off side to bring up a stand of 50 for the eighth wicket with Alana King.

England will now have to score the highest fourth inning total in a women's Test match if they want to win.

They previously made 245 in Canberra in 2022 but were 12 runs short of winning. Kate Cross and Sophie Ecclestone held out for a draw though.

  8. Aus 244-7published at 73.3 overs

Now then, Lauren Filer into the attack.

But she's a touch full to Alyssa Healy with her third ball and the Aussie skipper executes a brilliant straight drive to dispatch the young England tyro back down the ground for four.

A top shot, all along the carpet.

  9. How's stat?!published at 15:33 British Summer Time 25 June 2023

Healy's sweep in the last over took Australia's lead past the record fourth innings score in Women's Tests - England's 245 in the drawn Sydney Test in January last year.

England's Tamsin Beaumont speaks to Nat Sciver-Brunt as she lies injured on the ground during day four of the first Women's Ashes test match at Trent Bridge, NottinghamImage source, PA Media

Nat Sciver-Brunt stumbles and falls over on the follow of final delivery.

She lies on the turf in some discomfort before clambering to her feet. She has a troublesome knee and decides it might not be wise to continue bowling and departs the field after a maiden.

Sophie Ecclestone has now bowled 72.3 overs in this Test match.

Only Gillian McConway has bowled more in a Test match against Australia in Hove. She bowled 49.3 overs in the first innings and 38 in second innings.

  16. Aus 233-7published at 71 overs

Sophie Ecclestone has a wry smile after Australia skipper plays uncertainly to her fourth delivery which has all the perfect ingredients for a spinner: drift, turn and bounce.

England's premier spin bowler, who has 3-55, is on the money again. Her sixth maiden of the innings.

To come in with an injured knee is great of Nat Sciver-Brunt, especially when her team need their frontline bowlers.

  18. Aus 233-7published at 70 overs

Nat Sciver-Brunt with an over of steady medium pace as we edge closer to the tea interval.

Alyssa Healy, who has 27 off 33 balls, happy to work her into the gaps and picks up five runs off the over.

Alana King edges Sophie Ecclestone's first ball though the slips four. That was tossed up by the left-armer spinner but it goes wide of Heather Knight.

Sophia Dunkley is right under King's nose at silly mid-off and a big swing of the bat to one that dies off the pitch from Ecclestone has her cowering. Fortunately for Dunkley, it was a fresh-air shot from King.
