Mooney and Perry look pretty comfortable at the moment out there. As a left-arm spinner, you jut look to go tight to the stumps and keep it in play. You want to bowl dot balls at Mooney at the moment, she is a run a ball. I reckon it's pretty even stevens at the moment.

  2. Aus 64-2published at 12 overs

Another tight over from Nat Sciver-Brunt, who makes sure to restrict the width on offer to Beth Mooney and Ellyse Perry.

Only two from the over but the ball does seem to be finding the middle of the Australian bats with increasing regularity.

Darren: You’d take the two wickets, however the amount of loose balls bowled resulting in wides/free boundaries is something which needs addressing. It’s hardly as if the Aussies are playing expansively, just bowl tight lines and make them come to you, see what they've got.

To get Ellyse Perry out, you probably have to bowl a seed that would get anyone out. Either that, or just restrict her options until she gets bored.

  5. Aus 62-2published at 11 overs

Just three singles from Kate Cross' latest over and that is likely to be the end of her spell.

No wickets but it's been a solid start from the England seamer.

I think it is honours even, England have two wickets but Australia have been going at almost six and over. The ball is still swinging out there, we've seen see that from Sciver-Brunt, but I don't think it will be long before we see some spin.

  7. Aus 59-2published at 10 overs

The pace of the outfield is shown as Ellyse Perry just nudges the ball through leg side.

Once it beats the in-field, though, it is hard to stop. The fielder eventually hauls it in, just ahead of the deep mid-wicket boundary.

End of the powerplay. Neither side will be to disappointed with how it looks now.

First change of bowling for England. Nat Sciver-Brunt is on to bowl the last over of the powerplay.

Perry's managed to get away a few deliveries away from Cross and Bell here. Both her and Mooney are going at a run a ball.

Australia will be looking at anything between 280 and 300 if they can keep wickets in hand. It's a good wicket.

  10. 50 runs

    Aus 53-2published at 9 overs

A steady over from Kate Cross is ruined by a loose delivery to finish, swinging down leg and Ellyse Perry gratefully clips it away behind square for four.

There was a dive of sorts from Lauren Bell at fine leg but you get the sense she felt obligated to go for it, rather than ever expecting to stop the ball.

These two deliveries pretty much sum up Ellyse Perry's innings so far.

Plenty of class but the odd scare as well.

This is the big partnership. Mooney scored a half century at Bristol. Even though the run rate is higher than England would want, they are right in this.

Ellyse Perry is averaging just under 50 in ODIs, Beth Mooney is just under 55. This is the partnership.

  14. Aus 46-2published at 8 overs

Productive over for Australia as they're helped out by a couple of wides from Lauren Bell.

Ellyse Perry also adds a boundary with a clip through square leg and Beth Mooney gets three with a back-foot punch.

Mooney was beaten by a beauty the ball before, though, so there is still plenty to keep the bowlers interested.

Bell bowling at Perry is fantastic to watch. Bell is bowling nicely, is getting that extra bounce off the hard pitch.

  16. Aus 36-2published at 7.1 overs

Full but a bit of width and Ellyse Perry throws the kitchen sink at it... but misses.

It's been an interesting innings from Perry so far, some glorious shots but with the odd rash shot in there, too.

Lauren Bell will, unsurprisingly, continue. Here is her second wicket of the morning.

Alyssa Healy won't want to see this one again...

Jack Rule: Lauren Bell making use of her experience on this Rose Bowl pitch!

Georgie Heath: Lauren Bell with her second wicket of the morning. It’s the Vipers bowler’s first time playing international cricket at her home ground and she is LOVING it.

  19. Aus 36-2published at 7 overs

    Mooney 8, Perry 9

Kate Cross is bowling very full, trying to attack the pads and bring the stumps into play with Amy Jones up to the stumps.

However, when she gets it a little wrong, it allows Beth Mooney to drive handsomely back down the ground for four.

    Top shot.

Kate Cross is so good at the wobble seam, it is her bread and butter delivery.
