I've enjoyed watching this series so much and regardless of how many times I've felt like we've dropped the ball with our game management (if only we had completed 20overs!!) I can genuinely say we are closer to the Aussies now than we've ever been and with some fine tuning can get even better. Well done ladies!

We're back to the waiting game, folks.
Firstly, waiting to see if that rain is heavy enough to push back the restart time.
Then, if it is, waiting on the rain to stop completely so we can get a new restart time, overs remaining and revised DLS target.
Typical.

And it's raining again...
Good news! Play will restart at 18:50 BST, about 20 minutes from now, provided there is no more rain.
Six overs have been lost, so it's down to 44 overs. We're waiting on what Australia's revised target will be.
No word yet on a restart time or even an inspection. Have they even been off for long enough that a proper inspection is needed?
I guess we'll find out. Hopefully soon.

The covers are coming off!
Or is there? We have movement!
Pegs are being taken out of ground sheets and the ground staff are beginning the clear up.
You wouldn't have thought it would take too long.

It's not raining but there's no sign of the covers coming off.
Danni Wyatt and Sophia Dunkley are out there at the moment, although it looks like they're just signing a few autographs and taking selfies with fans rather than preparing for a restart.
Although, the umpires are out now as well - umbrella-less - so perhaps they won't be off for too much longer?

I didn't predict this multi-format Ashes going so deep. England came out of the Test match knowing they had put Australia under pressure. All of the games have been so close, everyone is getting value for money when purchasing their tickets. There has not been a closer series and it goes all the way back to 1934.

Umpire Sue Redfern is taking a solitary walk around the middle, umbrella in hand.
Unfortunately, all she can see is the groundstaff bringing more sheets out.
It is looking pretty grim at Taunton now. Hopes of a quick restart are fading and if they don't get back out, how much might Heather Knight regret that bowling change that Ffion mentioned?
Still, we've got plenty of time yet for them to get back out there.

Extra sheets are being bought on now to protect the area around the wicket.

The rain is pretty heavy - umbrellas are up and the full covers are on.
Everyone is pretty baffled by Heather Knight's decision to change the bowler when the rain was getting heavier. Had Sophie Ecclestone carried on, she could have whizzed through the 20th over to get us a result.
Instead, Alice Capsey had to warm up, change her field and that took a considerable amount of time out of the game. If we don't get back on, it could cost England.
What difference would those extra four balls have made? Well, once 20 overs of the second innings are bowled, we're guaranteed a result.
England lead on DLS at the moment which would see them win if they'd bowled 20 and no more play was possible.
As it is, with just 19.2 overs bowled, if the rain doesn't relent, it will be match abandoned, one point each and Australia win the series outright.

At this stage, Australia are the happier of the sides. It's a shame that England haven't bowled four more balls. The covers are firmly on.
We've got half an hour before they start losing overs. Hopefully this shower will have passed long before we reach that point.
Although, as I write that, extra ground sheets are being brought on to protect the bowlers' run ups.
Aus 97-3
I spoke too soon. Two balls into Alice Capsey's over and the rain has got heavy enough that the umpires call for the covers.
Hopefully this will just be a very brief stoppage.
