  1. 6 runs

    Aus 72-3published at 10.2 overs

    Shot!

Ash Gardner takes one half-step down the pitch to Dani Gibson and just plants her over wide long-on for the first six.

    Superb striking.

Forgive me if I speak too soon here, but this is the most I've seen Australia struggle with the bat over the past few weeks.

Actually, probably over the last few years, if we're being honest.

Beth Mooney just looking to manipulate the ball around the field. Slower ball, and she was in no position to play that shot. That's because of the pressure England have built.

    Mooney b Sciver-Brunt 32 (Aus 66-3)

    BIG wicket!

Lovely bowling from Nat Sciver-Brunt. England have bowled really well so far.

Beth Mooney looks to get a little bit funky and ramp the England all-rounder away, but she can't get enough bat on the slower off-cutter and it ends up crashing into the stumps.

England could really restrict Australia here.

Here are the two wickets that England have taken so far.

Two things to look out for:

    • Alyssa Healy just immediately turning round and walking off
    • The look of delight and shock on Alice Capsey's face for the second wicket
  6. Aus 62-2published at 9 overs

What did I say about Beth Mooney against left-arm spin?

She advances down the pitch to her second ball from Sophie Ecclestone and superbly drives over mid-off for a one-bounce four.

The left-hander then works a single into mid-wicket.

    She looks really comfortable.

Sophie Ecclestone bowling from the Pavilion End. So if the ball does spin it will hold up the slope. Ash Gardner will have to look out for lbw.

Time for Sophie Ecclestone, the world's best T20 bowler, to have a bowl.

It is difficult facing a right-left hand combination. You're having to change your angles and your lengths. If you're a spinner, you want to settle.

  10. Aus 55-2published at 8 overs

    Mooney 24, Gardner 3

England might need a plan D...

It looks like Beth Mooney fancies a little bit of Sarah Glenn as she clubs the first three legitimate balls for four.

Glenn comes back well though, with three conceded from the final three balls.

Australia had scored 59 after six overs at The Oval three days ago.

England have squeezed the batters expertly. This will be a big test of the patience of Australia's middle order, who are not exactly used to this kind of pressure.

This has been a low-scoring white ball ground over the last couple of years. So if Australia can get up to 150-160 that's par.

England are on Plan C for Beth Mooney.

    Sarah Glenn is on.

England will know that Mooney averaged 75 and struck at 138 against slow left-arm going into the series so will be trying to avoid bowling Sophie Ecclestone at her.

Over in the third men's Test England have bowled Australia out for 224.

It means they need 251 to win and stay in the Ashes.

England have to bat for at least 20 minutes tonight (providing there's no more rain).

    Follow live.

  15. Aus 39-2published at 7 overs

Good start from Dani Gibson, just three runs and wicket from the over.

What score do Australia need here?

That's the second international wicket for Danielle Gibson. She gets the number one Twenty20 batter in the world. Well played, Gibson!

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 6.3 overs

    McGrath c Capsey b Gibson 10 (Aus 37-2)

    Good bowling!

England like the short ball to Tahlia McGrath and Dani Gibson opts for it.

The Aussie number three tries to flat-bat it back down the ground but can only send it into the hands of Alice Capsey at mid-off.

Gibson has got Beth Mooney and Tahlia McGrath for her first two international wickets. Not bad!

It looks like England did do their homework today - the two players most likely to get Beth Mooney out, according to Cricviz, were Charlie Dean and Nat Sciver-Brunt. Sarah Glenn is Plan C...

It's a pretty quiet powerplay from Australia's point of view. They scored 58 at The Oval, without losing wickets. Mooney's been pegged down by the bowling of Charlie Dean. It's disappointing for Australia, England are getting their match-ups right.

  20. Aus 36-1published at 6 overs

    Mooney 9, McGrath 10

A better over for Australia as Beth Mooney swept for four before that drop, and then Tahlia McGrath plants Charlie Dean over mid-off.

Dean almost yorks an advancing McGrath to end the over and gets a "nearly, Deano" from Amy Jones behind the stumps.
