    Derbyshire 53-2 v Notts

    A couple of quick wickets for Jake Ball have checked Derbyshire's progress and brought Wayne Madsen to the crease.

    He started tonight's games one run behind James Vince as the leading scorer in this summer's competition and, with Vince perishing for a first-ball duck at Canterbury, Madsen draws level with a single off his first ball.

    Two more MASSIVE sixes for Will Smeed, pulling Danny Lamb high over the square leg fence and then again over wide long-on.

    He's on to 64, which is now his highest score of the summer in the Blast.

    Yorks 41-1 v Worcs

    James Wharton tries to pull Pat Brown and a top edge flies over the keeper for four.

    A similar shot follows, but this time he makes good contact and it flies over mid-on for six.

    Not elegant, just brute force - but elegance isn't shown in any scorebook.

    Fred Klaassen quickly followed his first-over dismissal of James Vince by bowling Toby Albert to leave Hampshire 17-2 at Canterbury.

    However, Joe Weatherley and Ben McDermott are building a solid platform for the visitors. They've added 41 for the third wicket so far.

    Ah, wonderful from Haider Ali - the Pakistan batter takes a couple of steps down the pitch and belts a short ball from Jake Ball through mid-wicket.

    Dismissive from the Derbyshire man.

    But later in the over, Luis Reece mistimes a shot off Ball and it lands safely in the hands of Alex Hales.

    Only eight runs from his first 10 balls - time for Dawid Malan to step on the gas for Yorkshire.

    He swings Dillon Pennington through mid-wicket for four and pulls the next one behind square for another. That's more like it.

    Shaheen Shah Afridi appeals in vain for a lbw against Derbyshire opener Luis Reece, with the umpire judging that his yorker was sliding down leg.

    Reece replies with a pull in front of square which earns him three runs.

    Derbyshire 39-0 at the end of the fifth over.

    Alex Davies cover drives James Sales for four and is gifted another boundary as the Steelbacks seamer sends down a full toss.

    He tries a slower one to end the fourth over but Davies spots it and lifts it over mid-off for six.

    The Bears opener has 28 from 11 balls faced.

    Will Smeed is in the mood this evening, smashing Matt Taylor for a big six, the ball landing 10-15 yards beyond the rope.

    It was a decent over from Taylor to that point, with only six runs coming from the first five balls. Smeed then spoiled it with that big hit.

    Glamorgan will be glad to see the back of Robin Das.

    He attempts another big hit off Jamie McIlroy, but slices high to third man where Peter Hatzoglou hangs onto a good catch running to his right.

    Rob Yates made 71 when Birmingham Bears beat the Steelbacks by 21 runs at the end of last month - but there will be no repeat this evening.
