Jordan Thompson can be expensive but he also picks up wickets at vital moments.

Adam Hose pulls the all-rounder away for six, but tries to flick the next one away and gets a top edge, with keeper Jonny Tattersall running round to take the catch and send him on his way for 11.

    Leics 78-1 v Durham 172-4

Durham are falling apart a little bit here.

They've dropped a dolly of a catch and misfielded to concede a boundary since our last update.

So the visitors turned to Nathan Sowter, the leading wicket-taker in this season's T20 Blast, and his first delivery was a full toss and a no-ball. The free hit was smacked for six by Lewis Hill.

Soon-to-be-again England Test spinner Moeen Ali enters the attack for the Bears at Edgbaston and strikes in his opening over.

There is a little bit of turn there and keeper Alex Davies takes a thin edge to send Steelbacks skipper David Willey on his way.

    Glamorgan 58-0 v Essex 226-9

Glamorgan pass 50 in only the fifth over as Kiran Carlson punches Paul Walter away square and then lofts over mid-on for successive fours.

Another boundary ends the over and the home side are going along very nicely at the moment, with Carlson 38 not out.

    Glos 57-1 v Somerset 231-4

The hosts pass 50, with Miles Hammond (25) and Ben Charlesworth (22) both taking up the opportunity to despatch Craig Overton to the boundary rope.

Overton was the man who took the first Glos wicket of Ben Wells for 10.

    Yorks 224-4 v Worcs 28-1

    Kent 53-0 v Hampshire 177-7

A fine innings comes to an end with Laurie Evans frustratingly seven short of a ton.

His 94 from 51 has put Surrey in a good position and the in-form Evans is currently the fifth-highest run-scorer this season.

Jamie Overton had been having fun out there - taking Fynn Hudson-Prentice for 18 from the last four balls of the 16th over.

But Henry Crocombe has accounted for him too, taking the two wickets in the 17th over.

  11. wicket

    Bears 137 v Northants 26-3

    They couldn't, could they?

Two wickets now for Dan Mousley as Saif Zaib joins David Willey.

Rishi Patel is leading Leicestershire's charge in pursuit of 173 against Durham. The Foxes are 46-1 after four overs, with Patel racing to 30 not out.

One Patel shot over mid-on for four was absolutely gorgeous - he held the pose as well, like Rory McIlroy finessing a nine iron onto the green.

  15. Postpublished at 20:14 British Summer Time 9 June 2023

    Bears 137 v Northants 23-2

Another breakthrough for the Bears as Dan Mousley takes a superb diving catch at deep mid-wicket to dismiss Emilio Gay for 18 off the bowling off Glenn Maxwell.

The fielder celebrates with a volley that Erling Haaland is unlikely to reproduce in the Champions' League final - more height than accuracy.

    Four overs gone.

  16. Postpublished at 20:10 British Summer Time 9 June 2023

    Glamorgan 16-0 v Essex 226-9

A couple of fours off Daniel Sams as Glamorgan begin their chase at Sophia Gardens.

Sam Cook will open up from the other end and Sam Northeast cuts backward of point for another boundary.

Nothing else doing from that Cook over, though.

  17. Postpublished at 20:09 British Summer Time 9 June 2023

    Kent 15-0 v Hampshire 177-7

An eventful second over of Kent's run chase - a dropped catch, an lbw appeal turned down and a boundary.

The upshot is Kent are 15-0 after two overs.

  18. Postpublished at 20:09 British Summer Time 9 June 2023

    Glos 16-0 v Somerset 231-4

The Gloucestershire chase has started, and started well.

Miles Hammond and Ben Wells are both off the mark with boundaries in their pursuit of that rather daunting target.

That should put a bit of heart into the Bears. Dan Mousley beats Chris Lynn's indeterminate push forward and bowls the big-hitting Australian opener for one. Two overs are complete.
