  1. wicket

WICKET Jenner c Cross b Main 29published at 9.3 overs

    Jersey 65-4 (target 150)

He's gone next ball! Gavin Main tempts his with a ball that stays wide, Jenner throws his arms at it but gets nothing meaningful on it.

Instead, it's nicked behind and Matthew Cross takes a good catch behind the wickets.

From hero to zero for Jonty Jenner!

  2. 6 runs

    Postpublished at 9.2 overs

    Jersey 65-3 (target 150)

A couple of umbrellas pop up around the ground, but most sit resolutely. 'This is just a light shower' say the Scottish fans!

The umpires have a look at each other... we're getting on with it.

Gavin Main might wish they'd been taken off, as Jonty Jenner slogs to the leg-side. He's caught that sweet as a nut and it flies out of the ground! The biggest shot of the day, and maybe the tournament!

  3. 50 runs

up for Jerseypublished at 9 overs

    Jersey 57-3 (target 150)

It's a good fightback from this pair. Brandon McMullen is on for his first spell.

He's edged over the top of the keeper! Jonty Jenner gets another four and keeps Jersey's hopes alive.

There's a misfield at third man, an awkward fall from Gavin Main. That was Nick Greenwood with that boundary. Decent innings for both, so far.

    Here comes the rain again!

Greenwood and Jenner realistically hold Jersey's last hopes of getting something out of this game.

If Jenner can keep hitting the boundaries and Greenwood support him Jersey might be in with a chance.

But it'll be a comeback of huge proportions.

  5. Postpublished at 8 overs

    Jersey 44-3 (target 150)

Gavin Main comes on for his opening spell, and Jonty Jenner sends him downtown immediately.

Not good news for Scotland, but the rain might help them - Jersey are far behind on Duckworth-Lewis-Stern.

It's getting a little lighter though..

It's just started raining, but we're staying on...

  7. 6 runs

    Postpublished at 7 overs

    Jersey 37-3 (target 150)

Mark Watt is back on from the Inverleith Park end, and he offers something down leg side. Jonty Jenner graciously accepts, sweeping a huge shot over the boundary.

10 off the over. This is what Jersey need.

  8. Postpublished at 6 overs

    Jersey 27-3 (target 150)

Jonty Jenner drills Brad Currie through the off-side and he finds the boundary. Both players are off the mark, playing themselves in nicely.

Four more for Jenner! This time he plays it off his back foot, brilliant timing. That's a top class shot, slicing it away off the blade.

It really has gotten quite dark down here in leafy Stockbridge. Half the eyes are on the wicket, half are on the clouds.

  9. Postpublished at 5 overs

    Jersey 17-3 (target 150)

    George O'Neill
BBC Sport Scotland at The Grange

The small but passionate pocket of Jersey fans sat across the ground from me have gone a wee bit quiet after those three early wickets.

They were in fine voice during Scotland's innings, but know their side are up against it now.

There's also a slightly ominous cloud hovering over the ground, but the rain seems to be staying away for now...

  10. Postpublished at 5 overs

    Jersey 17-3 (target 150) v Scotland

A double-wicket maiden for Brad Currie on only his second international T20 appearance. Yes please!

If Scotland can get a wicket here, they should be home and dry. Nick Greenwood is the main man for Jersey and Jonty Jenner isn't bad either.

However, there are now a few spits of rain and a fair breeze picking up. There's a chill in the air. Thankfully, we're already through the five overs.

  11. wicket

WICKET Tribe c Berrington b Currie 0published at 3.3 overs

    Jersey 15-3 (target 150) v Scotland

Asa Tribe is gone after two balls! This is more like it from Scotland - they can almost always rely on their bowling attack.

He went far too early through the shot and ended up chipping it to cover - where the skipper Berrington waits, hungrily.

  12. wicket

WICKET Carlyon c Munsey b Currie 13published at 3.1 overs

    Jersey 15-2 (target 150) v Scotland

Scotland have removed both openers within the first four overs! Carlyon tries to slog Currie but he catches it with the toe end of the bat.

George Munsey is nestled underneath and his hands are safe as houses. He celebrates with a little aeroplane, to boot.

More importantly - it's a first T20 wicket for Brad Currie!

  13. Carlyon under pressurepublished at 3 overs

    Jersey 14-1 (target 150) v Scotland

Mark Watt's over is a junk one - he's quickly replaced at the far end by Safyaan Sharif. Jersey get another four, this time off the inside edge of Harrison Carlyon's bat - it's the best shot in cricket...

His next shot goes high into the air... but it finds empty ground, instead of a fielder.

The shot after that nicks behind and there's a big shout of 'CATCH IT!' but Matthew Cross can't get down in time. It would've been some take down the leg side.

  14. A near-record T20 run chase needed for Jerseypublished at 2 overs

Jersey have not chased down a target of more than 150 to win in a T20 World Cup Qualifier for more than eight years.

They hit 154 to beat Hong Kong by nine wickets in 2015, but since then big run chases have been hard to come by.

They did chase down 140 runs against Singapore 12 months ago in the last T20 World Cup Global Qualifiers.

But on that day it was for seventh place in the tournament after both sides had been knocked out of the running to make the 2023 T20 World Cup.

This time the stakes are much higher.....

  15. Postpublished at 2 overs

    Jersey 8-1 (target 150) v Scotland

Brad Currie comes from the pavilion end, offering a bit of pace. Harrison Carlyon faces, with Nick Greenwood down the other end.

Currie offers a short one and Carlyon throws everything at it, pulling it away to the rope. The first boundary of Jersey's innings.

  16. wicket

WICKET Brennan c Sharif b Watt 0published at 0.6 overs

    Jersey 0-1 (target 150) v Scotland

Brennan tries to clear mid-off but instead he finds the hands of Sayfaan Sharif. It's a good catch and a great start for Scotland - a wicket maiden for Mark Watt.

The momentum shifts to the hosts - and there's a stat coming that tells you Scotland fans that you might not have to worry too much...

  17. Jersey open their inningspublished at 0. 4 overs

    Jersey 0-0 (target 150) v Scotland

Scotland are out in a huddle. They have a hard task ahead of them. Can Jersey chase 150? It's a run rate of 7.5... more than achievable.

Mark Watt will open the bowling again, from the Inverleith Park end. Charlie Brennan faces the first ball... and he defends away.

Harrison Carlyon is the other opener.

  18. Can Jersey win this?published at 17:00 British Summer Time 21 July 2023

    Scotland 149-6 v Jersey

    Jonty JennerImage source, ICC

Those final few overs will have given Scotland real hope, but Jersey are not out of it yet.

Watch for Jersey's youthful and exciting batters - openers Harrison Carlyon and Charlie Brennan are 22 and 17 respectively, although Carlyon has a lot of experience.

Nick Greenwood could well the the lynchpin of the innings while in Asa Tribe and Jonty Jenner Jersey have two batters capable of putting together explosive innings that can turn the game in the space of a couple of overs.

The key for Jersey will be keeping their heads and ensuring they don't panic should they lose an early wicket or go behind the run rate in the first few overs.

  19. Scotland 149-6 v Jerseypublished at 17:00 British Summer Time 21 July 2023

It was a rather subdued batting performance from Scotland. George Munsey started well, with Richie Berrington impressing on his big day.

But other than those two, the wickets fell for very few runs. That final partnership - Chris Greaves and Mark Watt - has really rescued Scotland and has now given the bowlers something to work with.

We'll be back with Jersey's innings in about 15 minutes.

  20. Scotland fail to make 150published at 20 overs

    Scotland 149-6 v Jersey

Chuggy Perchard will bowl Jersey's last over. Mark Watt gets down on one knee and sweeps for another boundary - he does have those big shots in him.

Chris Greaves on strike - and he goes for the sweep too. Again, it works!

Mark Watt faces the final ball - and produces a fantastic off-drive to finish the innings with a boundary.
