Live Reporting

Tom Mallows and Ffion Wynne

All times stated are UK

  1. Goodbye

That's all from this live page. Make sure you check out my colleague Ffion Wynne's match report from a rather chaotic victory for Manchester Originals.

Will the men make it a Manchester double?

We will be live from 18:15 BST as they take on Birmingham Phoenix with the second game of yet another busy day of Hundred action.

    See you over there.

  2. Post update

    Here is the winning moment.

It was a great shot by Kathryn Bryce, at odds with what we had witnessed the previous 15-20 minutes of that innings.

  3. Post update

Manchester Originals captain Sophie Ecclestone, speaking to Sky Sports: "There were a lot of nerves going out to bat as we have not played for a while. We just got over the line but we will learn from that.

"Fi bowled so well, she deserves everything she gets. She is a great player and works so hard for it.

"We have 60 balls of world-class spin and Mahika Gaur was great up front so long may that continue. I'm absolutely buzzing for her."

  4. Post update

Match Hero, Manchester Originals spinner Fi Morris, who took 5-7: "The surface was a bit slow and low, not a batter's paradise. We know how to play here and we just stuck to our strengths, bowled a lot of spin and it paid off.

"Sophie Ecclestone is the best bowler in the world and to have her bowling at the other end makes my job a lot easier.

"We bowled really well and fielded brilliantly so they were definitely under par. We made hard work of it at the end but to get over the line was brilliant."

  5. Post update

Originals captain Sophie Ecclestone has a huge smile on her face as she gives Kathryn Bryce a big hug.

They made life very hard for themselves but just about managed to get the job done.

  6. Originals win by five wickets

Kathryn Bryce carves the 99th ball through the covers for four to seal victory for Manchester Originals!

It was a lovely shot, too.

  7. Originals 87-5

    1 run needed

    Two dot balls next up!

One run from two balls needed.

    This is tense...

  8. Originals 87-5

    One run needed

Single off Devine's first ball. Scores are level!

  9. Originals 86-5

    Two runs needed

    Maybe I am being hasty?

Just one scrambled single from Erin Burns' latest set.

Two needed from the final five balls.

    Sophie Devine will bowl them.

  10. Post update

Originals should still go on to win this but this innings has been chaos ever since Laura Wolvaardt was dismissed.

  11. WICKET

Dottin run out (Baker) 6 (Originals 85-5)

Deandra Dottin is run out at the non-striker's end!

Sophie Ecclestone smacks a full toss straight down the ground but Hannah Baker gets a touch on the ball and it cannons into the stumps, with Dottin out of her ground.

  12. Originals 78-4

    10 runs needed

Manchester Originals are making this far harder than it should be.

A wide and a scrambled single from Hannah Baker's latest set means they still need 10 from 15 balls.

  13. Originals 75-4

It is all going on now.

New batter Sophie Ecclestone pushes her first ball into the off side and declines the run, but Deandra Dottin was halfway down the pitch.

The throw is good but a scrambling Dottin JUST gets her bat back into her crease before the bails are dislodged.

  14. WICKET

    Morris lbw b Levick 0 (Originals 75-4)

    Fi Morris goes second ball!

It was not the best shot as she looks to skip forward, changes her mind and gets trapped in front.

Morris cannot believe it, but she has to go.

  15. WICKET

    Campbell c Freeborn b Levick 28 (Originals 75-3)

    Chipped straight to mid-wicket!

Another wicket falls to spin as Ami Campbell smacks the ball straight to Abbey Freeborn, who did not have to move.

  16. How's stat?!

Deandra Dottin was the first woman to ever hit a T20 century.

It took her just 38 balls for West Indies against South Africa.

  17. Originals 74-2

    14 runs needed

It doesn't get any easier for Phoenix as Deandra Dottin comes out to the middle. She can hit the ball very, very hard.

After giving herself a sighter she duly looks to smash the next delivery out of the ground, gets nothing on it, but the ball still runs away for four byes.

    When your luck is in.

  18. WICKET

    Wolvaardt lbw b Baker 38 (Originals 69-2)

    Out!

A brilliant innings comes to an end as the replay shows the ball was going on to clip off stump.

  19. Originals review

Have Phoenix finally got Laura Wolvaardt here? She is trapped bang in front going for a big sweep.

The umpire raises the finger but Wolvaardt sends it upstairs.

  20. How's stat?!

A huge signing for the Originals, Laura Wolvaardt was the leading run-scorer in the 2022 Hundred, with 286 runs for Northern Superchargers.

Her runs came at an incredible average of 71.50.
