Shot!
Eve Jones takes a skip down the pitch and chips Mahika Gaur down the ground but because of how much rain there has been, it just plugs in the outfield and doesn't go for four.
A big ask for Gaur here - bowling 15 of the first 20 balls.
Oh, nasty!
Sophie Devine nails one down the ground but unfortunately for Eve Jones, it smacks her on the inside thigh as she's trying to get out of the way.
Devine is one player whose batting you really don't want to be getting in the way of!
But Originals' fine start with the ball continues, as we're still yet to see a boundary from the Phoenix batters.
A trend we've seen quite a bit in The Hundred is that keeping a bowler on for 10 consecutive balls is risky, because the batters have more time to work them out, plus the bowler gets a bit more tired.
But that's worked out nicely from Mahika Gaur, who has got the ball nipping around, and proves good captaincy from Sophie Ecclestone.
A tidy start from young Mahika Gaur, just two runs from her first five.
The first ball zips past Eve Jones' outside edge and Originals appeal enthusiastically for a catch, but it isn't given.
And after a solid start, Gaur is going to stay on for another five balls.
17-year-old Mahika Gaur is going to start things with the ball for the Originals, who could potentially be one of this year's breakout stars.
She bowls left-arm pace, is very tall and gets a lot of bounce and swing - a lot for Eve Jones and Sophie Devine to contend with first up.
Birmingham Phoenix captain Eve Jones on Sky Sports: "We would've had a bat first so we're all happy.
"We just want to stick to our plans and be clear in how we want to play.
"It's important to get a win on the board early in these competitions otherwise you're playing catch-up because they're so short, so we'll hopefully do that today."

Manchester Originals captain Sophie Ecclestone on Sky Sports: "We've not played yet so we want to get out there together as a team first.
"It [the weather] has been frustrating but there's a big buzz around the team today so we can finally get out there.
"We've got a few new faces like Katie George and Amanda-Jade Wellington so I'm looking forward to play with them and I'm glad they're on my team."
New Originals skipper Sophie Ecclestone makes a bit of a mess of her first coin toss as captain, somehow getting in a right tangle, but gets it right second time.
And she's going to be in action pretty soon, as they choose to bowl first.
Good afternoon!
It's time for more Hundred action and thankfully, it looks like Manchester Originals' women are finally going to get a game in!
They've had both their games washed out by rain (Birmingham have also had one) but so far, it's looking dry at Old Trafford.
We'll bring you the team and toss news shortly.
