    WICKETpublished at 31 balls left

    Bates c Filer b Dean 24 (Invincibles 64-3)

Suzie Bates is put out of her misery.

The stand-in Invincibles skipper goes for the big shot but, as has been the case throughout her innings, the timing isn't there.

It skews off the edge and balloons to Lauren Filer at short third. A first wicket of the match for Charlie Dean.

  2. Postpublished at 17:11 British Summer Time 15 August 2023

Charlie Dean will bowl the five after the timeout. We could be in for a very interesting finish in what is a must-win game for both sides!

  3. Invincibles 61-2published at 35 balls left

    Need 58 more

Nearly a fortunate run out for Lauren Filer as she stops a drive from Marizanne Kapp and the ball deflects onto the stumps at the non-striker's end.

Suzie Bates was back safely, though, and it's time for a strategic timeout.

That last five balls has helped the Invincibles but 58 from 35 on this surface won't be easy.

  4. Invincibles 59-2published at 37 balls left

    Need 60 more

A boundary at last! Slapped back down the ground by Mairzanne Kapp off Lauren Filer!

And one brings two! Even better from Kapp, hitting up and over mid-on, one bounce for four.

  5. Invincibles 50-2published at 40 balls left

    Need 69 more

Oval Invincibles just cannot find the boundaries at the moment, there have only been four in the entire innings - and two of those came from Alice Capsey in her six-ball knock!

Just four singles from Amelia Kerr's set. The Spirit bowlers are doing a brilliant job of increasing the pressure on the Invincibles batters.

  6. Invincibles 46-2published at 45 balls left

    Need 73 more

Suzie Bates is really struggling and throws her head back in frustration after missing with a sweep against Sarah Glenn.

A single next ball, still not timed by Bates, takes the New Zealander to 20 from 30 balls.

The Invincibles are making hard work of this chase.

  7. Invincibles 43-2published at 50 balls left

    Need 76 more

Lauren Filer sends down a brilliant yorker that Suzie Bates just manages to dig out.

The bowler then makes a good stop after Bates hit a short ball back to her. However, she undoes that good work with a wild shy at the stumps that Richa Ghosh has no chance of stopping.

Thankfully, for the Spirit it just misses the wicketkeeper's helmet and only costs one overthrow.

  8. Invincibles 39-2published at 55 balls left

    Need 80 more

Singles from every ball of Sarah Glenn's latest five-ball set.

The Invincibles are actually behind where Spirit were at the same stage, albeit having lost fewer wickets.

WinzViz now has Spirit as slight favourites, 51-49.

  9. Invincibles 34-2published at 60 balls left

    Target 119

Amelia Kerr gets through another good five with only four runs from it.

Scoring is not easy out there but Invincibles will feel if they can keep wickets in hand, they should have enough to get over the line.

  10. Invincibles 30-2published at 65 balls left

    Target 119

More leg spin for the Spirit as Sarah Glenn comes on to bowl.

After just one run from her first four deliveries, Marizanne Kapp goes back and plays a lovely late cut away for four.

Useful runs for the Invincibles after a slow start.

  11. Invincibles 25-2published at 70 balls left

    Target 119

Just two runs and the wicket of Alice Capsey from a good first five from Amelia Kerr.

Excellent start from the leg spinner.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 71 balls left

    Capsey c Harris b A Kerr 11 (Invincibles 25-2)

    Big, big wicket!

Alice Capsey had come in, given some impetus to the Invincibles innings bvut her stay is a short one.

She tries to work Amelia Kerr through the leg side, gets a leading edge and the ball loops to Grace Harris at mid-off. Good catch.

  13. Invincibles 23-1published at 75 balls left

    Target 119

It's all going on in this set from Charlie Dean!

After the boundary, Suzie Bates attempts a pull shot, gets in a tangle and nearly drags the ball onto her own stumps. It trickles just past leg.

Bates drives the next one back at Dean, who makes an excellent stop and has a shy at the stumps. It's off target, past the wicketkeeper and goes for an overthrow.

Finally, Alice Capsey rocks back and pulls the last ball behind square for four.

  14. Invincibles 18-1published at 78 balls left

    Target 119

Thumped down the ground for four by Suzie Bates.

She skipped down to Charlie Dean, hit the ball in the air but very firmly past the bowler to the boundary.

  15. 6 runs

Invincibles 14-1published at 80 balls left

    Target 119

Alice Capsey doesn't usually waste much time at the crease. She likes to get on with it... and today is no different!

She shuffles towards the off side and thumps the last ball of Tara Norris' set over deep square leg for six!

Super shot. Might that finally get the Invincibles moving in the chase?

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 82 balls left

    Winfield-Hill c A Kerr b Norris 3 (Invincibles 7-1)

    Caught in the deep!

Oval Invincibles just haven't got going at all. Lauren Winfield-Hill tries to change that, heaving the ball from Tara Norris leg side.

However, Amelia Kerr is waiting a few yards in from the rope and takes the catch.

  17. Invincibles 5-0published at 85 balls left

    Target 119

Late movement for Lauren Filer and that takes the ball just past the edge of Lauren Winfield-Hill's bat as she attempts a big drive.

Winfield-Hill leaves the next and it may have been called wide but for more late movement, back in to the right-hander this time.

Just one from Filer's first five.

  18. Invincibles 4-0published at 89 balls left

    Target 119

Lauren Filer has been the fastest bowler in the women's competition this year and she's into the attack now.

Her first ball is angled into the body of Suzie Bates and rushes her. No run.

  19. Invincibles 4-0published at 90 balls left

    Target 119

Very steady start from the Spirit bowlers, keeping Lauren Winfield-Hill and Suzie Bates to just four from the first 10 balls.

Three singles from Charlie Dean's set.

  20. Invincibles 1-0published at 95 balls left

    Target 119

Very good start from Danielle Gibson with just one from the first five.

A low total does give the Invincibles batters a chance to have a look rather than attacking from ball one if they want, though.

Charlie Dean will bowl the next five.
