London Spirit captain Heather Knight: "I would have bowled as well but I don't mind too much. The pitch is a little bit used so we'll have to see if our spinners get anything out of it.

"But generally it's a decent pitch, tends to bounce quite a lot and a bit of pace here at The Oval so hopefully our seamers can get something out of it second innings.

"We do need a win. There was a lot of rain around at the start so we stuttered into the season a but but I think we're doing a hell of a lot right - we were obviously on the wrong side of a Nat Sciver-Brunt onslaught the other day but for most of that game we were right up there.

"We're doing a lot right and we've got to keep playing the way we want to. There are things we can do a little bit better as well."

Oval Invincibles captain Suzie Bates on Sky Sports: "In previous games at The Oval it's done a bit early on so we want to make the most of that.

"Initially I turned up thinking I could sit back a bit! But having the captaincy has been good for me because I haven't scored the runs I'd have liked, and it gives me an opportunity to make my mark on the game in a different way.

"It was brilliant to get the win against Birmingham Phoenix. I have been on that side of Sophie Devine plenty of times before. So I think our young bowlers will have learned a lot from it and hopefully they can carry that on today."
