Brilliantly caught, that's a superb catch. Wonderful effort out in the deep.

I thought that was going to land in no man's land out in the deep but Paige Schofield has pulled off a super catch to a pretty wretched ball.

    That's an absolute beauty.

  4. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 72 balls

    Glenn c Scholfield b Macdonald-Gay 18 (Spirit 84-8)

Another! Great catch in the deep from Paige Scholfield.

Sarah Glenn tries to move things along, but picks out the fielder at deep square leg who judges it perfectly, covering plenty of ground and putting in a smart dive to take a low catch.

That's the breakthrough. Charlie Dean didn't get the elevation and just spoons up a simple chance.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 70 balls

    Dean c Bates b Villiers 13 (Spirit 84-7)

    Ah!

For the first time in the game, London Spirit looked relatively in control - but the pressure tells on Charlie Dean.

Dean and Glenn were nudging things along nicely, playing sensibly, but the former takes a bit of a risk and drills the ball straight to Suzie Bates at extra cover.

  7. Spirit 81-6published at 66 balls

    That's lovely.

Sarah Glenn shuffles in her crease, gets down on one knee and sweeps Mady Villiers perfectly into the big gap at square leg for four more.

  8. Spirit 77-6published at 65 balls

It's been tough going for London Spirit since they lost their opener Niamh Holland from just the second ball of the game.

Danielle Gibson led a revival before she was smartly dismissed for 22 by her Western Storm team-mate, Sophia Smale.

  9. dropped catch

Dean dropped on 6published at 61 balls

    Spirit 74-6

    Oh, tough one.

Charlie Dean slashes at a wide ball from Paige Scholfield, and Eva Gray puts in an impressive full-length dive at backward point but the ball just bursts out of her hands and runs away for four.

  10. Spirit 68-6published at 60 balls

Bit of aggression from these two as Glenn and Dean take a boundary each off Sophia Smale.

Both are threaded through the covers as the spinner goes a little too full.

  11. Spirit 58-6published at 55 balls

England spin duo Charlie Dean and Sarah Glenn are at the crease for London Spirit, tasked with a pretty tough rebuilding job.

They tick the singles off Mady Villiers, as Oval Invincibles continue with spin for the time being.

It's an ugly heave and Ghosh has been enticed by the fact that the long off fielder has been brought in.

A bit of flight from Smale, a bit of width but Ghosh has just managed to sky that. London Spirit look in real trouble.

  13. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 47 balls

    Ghosh c Macdonald-Gay b Smale 2 (Spirit 53-6)

Smale has two and Spirit's innings unravels further.

Richa Ghosh, a player known for her aggression, tries to kick on.

She takes a big heave, the ball scoops high up into the air and Ryana Macdonald-Gay takes the catch at cover.

Tighter in line from Sophia Smale so Gibson gets cramped for room, it comes off the inside half of the bat and offers the return catch.

Big celebration from Smale. That's a big wicket.

  15. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 43 balls

    Gibson c & b Smale 22 (Spirit 52-5)

    The spinner fights back!

A huge breakthrough, just as Gibson was getting into her groove.

A hint of turn from Smale, drawing a leading edge and she takes a smart return catch.

She gives a huge roar in celebration while Gibson swishes her bat around in frustration.

  16. Spirit 52-4published at 42 balls

Spin for the first time as Sophia Smale is introduced.

And she's greeted by the bat of Danielle Gibson as she finds another boundary.

"You're batting on a different surface, Gibbo!" is picked up by the stump-mic from Lauren Winfield-Hill.

19-year-old Ryana Macdonald-Gay has had a brilliant start to The Hundred.

  18. Spirit 48-4published at 40 balls

    Shot!

Danielle Gibson smashes Ryana Macdonald-Gay back down the ground for a much-needed boundary.

The opener has only faced 11 balls amid the chaos so far. She's scored 18 from them, and Spirit will be hoping she can hang in a little longer.

  19. Spirit 37-4published at 35 balls

Big call from Invincibles captain Suzie Bates.

Star all-rounder Marizanne Kapp bowls out early, finishing with an impressive 2-13 from her 20 balls.

    Game-changer.

  20. Not outpublished at 31 balls

    Nope. Off the pad.

A poor review and Richa Ghosh survives.
