  1. 'Nice to have a calm game'published at 17:12 British Summer Time 17 August 2023

Trent Rockets captain Nat Sciver-Brunt on Sky Sports: "I said at the toss we haven't played our best cricket yet so it was nice to have a calm game. I didn't feel chaotic in the bowling innings and then the openers set it up nicely and I came in and finished it off.

"We've prepared in the same way, we just executed our skills. We didn't do that on Monday against Welsh Fire. It was nice to have bowlers bowling to their plans.

"A lot of our bowlers have strengths when it comes to their change-ups. We don't go to yorkers too often in the women's game and that is probably our best template."

On Katherine Sciver-Brunt: "Injuries are pretty uncertain. She tried a different tactic before the game having spoke to physio and doctor, that gave her the best chance to bowl without pain. It was more the striding up than the bowling itself and I know most batters hate her process bowling."

  2. 'Glad our approach has come off'published at 17:10 British Summer Time 17 August 2023

Match Hero Bryony Smith: "I've bowled a few tough sets but I'm glad with how it is coming out.

"We talked about being positive with the bat and taking each ball as it came and not letting the dots build up. That has been our approach throughout the tournament so I'm glad it's come off."

The Rockets are up to fourth, three points off Northern Superchargers in third - albeit having played a game more.

As for the Originals, they are just a point back but drop to seventh and their qualification hopes hang by a thread. If they are to progress it'll be on net run-rate - and theirs just took a hammering.

Trent Rockets had to win and they did so just about as comprehensively as you'll see.

Lizelle Lee finishes unbeaten on 44 from 27 balls, Nat Sciver-Brunt ends 33 not out from 18 balls.

They were every bit as impressive as the Originals were disappointing.

Nat Sciver-Brunt is in a hurry.

She sweeps Sophie Ecclestone firmly for four behind square and then nails the next over cover for another boundary.

The Rockets are one hit away.,

Lizelle Lee gets a little lucky after lofting Sophie Ecclestone into the leg side.

With two fielders out there in the deep, you'd expect one of them to get underneath it for the catch but there seemed to be some miscommunication and it lands safely.

It wouldn't have made any difference to the result but it's another moment of frustration for the away side.

  8. Rockets 89-1published at 45 balls left

    Need 19 more

The runs keep coming for the Rockets. Nat Sciver-Brunt adds the latest boundary, stretching to reach a wide delivery from Fi Morris and timing it superbly through point.

The Originals are well beaten and have done for some time.

    Four more!

The ball is heading down leg as Lizelle Lee tries to get hold of it. It balloons off her glove but over the wicketkeeper, fine of the short fine leg fielder and away to the rope.

Halfway through the innings and the Rockets are just 28 runs from victory.

Shot! Full ball from Mahika Gaur and Lizelle Lee lifts the ball over mid-off with a lovely drive.

She made that look so simple. Great shot.

Nat Sciver-Brunt is quickly into her work with a pair of boundaries off Amanda-Jane Wellington.

The first of them is thumped leg-side and the second is swept very fine, almost off the under-edge as Wellington drifted one down leg.

It might have been three boundaries on the trot but for a diving stop from Sophie Ecclestone.

  13. Rockets 61-1published at 60 balls left

    Need 47 more

Very good set from Sophie Ecclestone. Just one run from it and the wicket.

We're not quite in 'the comeback starts here' territory yet, though.

Especially given Nat Sciver-Brunt is the new batter for the Rockets.

    Breakthrough for the Originals.

Bryony Smith tries to heave the ball across the line but the ball loops off the top edge to Mahika Gaur.

Even when the Originals are in the midst of a thrashing, Sophie Ecclestone gets a wicket.

  15. Rockets 60-0published at 65 balls left

A welcome quiet set for the Originals. Just a single from Fi Morris' five.

Perhaps the Rockets batters decided they need to give the fans their money's worth?

  16. Postpublished at 16:42 British Summer Time 17 August 2023

Fi Morris took 5-7 for the Originals earlier in the competition. They could do with a similar performance from her today as she prepares to bowl the next set...

Just when it looked like we might get a relatively quiet set, Lizelle Lee gets down on one knee and slog-sweeps Kathryn Bryce for an enormous six!

Mahika Gaur is back and starts with two dot balls to bring about some semblance of calm but it doesn't last long.

Lizelle Lee drills a cover drive away for four next ball and then pulls the four in the air but past short fine leg for yet another boundary.

The Rockets opener skies the last ball of the powerplay but somehow it lands safely. It's been that kind of day for the Originals.

Strategic timeout as the Originals try to make sense of that carnage.
