  1. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 22 balls

    Morris c Kaur b Stonehouse 1 (Originals 15-2)

Fi Morris's promotion hasn't worked for the Originals - she's gone!

She tries to force the drive and can only find a diving Harmanpreet Kaur. Alexa Stonehouse has her first wicket.

  2. Originals 15-1published at 20 balls

Fi Morris is the new batter, promoted up the order ahead of Ami Campbell.

She takes a single into square-leg.

  3. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 18 balls

    Lamb c Gardner b K Sciver-Brunt 2 (Originals 14-1)

    Katherine Sciver-Brunt isn't done yet!

It looked unlikely that she'd bowl again after her opening set, but she returns to the attack straight away and has the wicket of Emma Lamb.

The Originals batter offers up an extremely unconvincing scoop, dropping the ball into the hands of Jo Gardner a short fine-leg.

  4. Originals 13-0published at 15 balls

Kirstie Gordon's spin for the Rockets now, only a single from for Emma Lamb.

  5. Originals 12-0published at 10 balls

Here's Katherine Sciver-Brunt, playing in one of her final few games before retirement at the end of the season.

She draws an edge from Wolvaardt but it runs away through an empty slip cordon for four. The next ball is too wide and the South African opener sends it wide of short third for another boundary.

KSB seems to be coming off a shorter run-up and looks to be in visible distress after each delivery.

She's holding her hip - that's the injury that's kept her out of the last two games. She's staying on the field for now, though.

  6. Originals 4-0published at 5 balls

A second wide from the left-arm seamer Stonehouse, but she tightens her line and draws an inside edge from Laura Wolvaardt, going on to hit her pad.

  7. Originals 1-0published at 1 ball

A rather inauspicious start as Alexa Stonehouse gets us underway with a massive wide.

Originals have struggled at the start and end of the innings with the bat so far.

They have scored at a strike-rate of 86.84 and 85.18 respectively.

That is the lowest strike-rate for any team in those two phases in this year’s Hundred women's competition.

Trent Rockets captain Nat Sciver-Brunt: "I was going to bat. We don't mind too much, it's a fresh pitch and hopefully we can make use of it.

"We haven't played our best cricket and we've got three opportunities to do that."

  11. Postpublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 17 August 2023

Manchester Originals captain Sophie Ecclestone: "We've bowled a few times first so today, we're going to have a change and bat.

"We've had a few close games recently so hopefully we can get over the line this time.

"The girls know that we have to win today, do the basics right and have some fun."

  12. The tosspublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 17 August 2023

Manchester Originals captain Sophie Ecclestone calls the toss correctly and decides to put her team into bat.

Originals have chased in their last two matches, losing them both. This scenario is very familiar to the Rockets - they've chased in every game they've played this season.

Yes, a defeat for Trent Rockets today will end their ambitions for this season - they will be unable to reach the knock-outs if they come up short this afternoon.

Manchester Originals fans can hold onto a smidgen of hope if they lose today, but they would need to win all their remaining games and see an unlikely set of results in the other remaining fixtures to squeak into the eliminator.

  14. Good afternoonpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 17 August 2023

Two teams trying to keep their season alive. Two teams with one win apiece.

The weather is set fair in Nottingham, one of these sides will chalk up their second victory and retain their outside hopes of reaching the knock-out stages. The other will be facing elimination.

Unless it's a tie, of course. Which wouldn't really help either of them.

It's Trent Rockets v Manchester Originals in the women's competition - we're getting going at 15:00 BST.
