  1. Rockets 40-0published at 80 balls left

    Target 108

Sophie Ecclestone brings herself on to try and stem the flow of runs but to no avail!

A pair of misfields allow Bryony Smith boundaries either side of the wicket before a leg-side ball from Ecclestone is helped away fine.

The wheels have come off for the Originals.

  2. Rockets 28-0published at 85 balls left

    Target 108

Four byes now! The ball has gone to the boundary cushion six balls in a row now!

This one is unfortunate for Amanda-Jade Wellington as she rips a leg break past Bryony Smith and beats the wicketkeeper, too.

A dot ball ends an expensive set and breaks that run of fours.

  3. Rockets 24-0published at 87 balls left

    Target 108

Three boundaries in a row to start Amanda-Jade Wellington's set!

A misfield in the covers allows the first cut shot from Bryony Smith to get through but the next is powered past the in-fielder.

It's a sweep to finish the trio, hit hard behind square for four more. The Rockets are off to a flyer!

  4. Rockets 12-0published at 90 balls left

    Target 108

An ugly hack from Lizelle Lee as the pressure builds. The ball comes off the inside edge but fine of the short fine leg fielder for four.

Super shot next ball, though. Lee punches the ball powerfully up and over mid-off for four more.

Mahika Gaur's first eight balls when for four runs, the next two went for eight.

  5. Rockets 2-0published at 95 balls left

    Target 108

Close! Bryony Smith pushes the last ball of Mahika Gaur's five to mid-on and calls for a quick singler.

It's very tight and a direct hit might have done for the Rockets opener.

Gaur will continue for another five balls.

  6. Rockets 1-0published at 98 balls left

Mahika Gaur is bowling the opening five for the Originals and Lizelle Lee edges the first ball to the fielder. No run.

The next one is tucked into the leg side for one and the Rockets are away in the chase.

    Thanks, Mike.

The players are back out and Manchester Originals certainly have their work cut out to defend 107 - if they don't, their qualification chances are all but over.

If the Rockets lose, their hopes of making the top three are over. Full stop.

A big 100 balls ahead then...

A run of the mill chase for the Rockets?

Things are rarely so simple in The Hundred. The Rockets made a hash of their chase against the Superchargers last week. Going along nicely on 102-2 and needing only 33 from 23 balls, they lost five wickets and fell ten runs short.

Will they do any better today? Sam Drury is sat waiting to find out.

  9. 'It was alright considering I had one leg'published at 16:12 British Summer Time 17 August 2023

Trent Rockets' Katherine Sciver-Brunt on Sky Sports: "It feels alright considering I've got one leg! It was good fun.

"I've been tearing my hair out for a good two weeks trying to get this as better as I can. Sometimes it isn't possible and it's just pain tolerance and sheer determination. We just want to put on a good show for the crowd here.

"The girls were saying I could prolong my career my five years if I shorten my run-up! I've enjoyed bowling like that my whole career in training. I bowl better off that than I do my full run-up. As long as Jon [Lewis, head coach] was happy with it I was!

"It's the sort of wicket where if you bowl a good line and length you get rewards."

A wicket each for four Rockets bowlers and then the run-out of Ecclestone.

    Here's how they fell.

Will Sophie Ecclestone regret her decision to have a bat? Or just that her side failed to take advantage of what looks to be a good batting pitch.

Either way, Rockets are surely the favourites on their home ground.

  12. Originals 107-5published at 100 balls

Driven by Wellington but can only find the deep cover fielder - they take a single off the final ball of the innings.

Originals finish with 107-5, with a final unbeaten sixth-wicket partnership of 35 from 23 between Katie George and Amanda-Jade Wellington.

  13. Originals 106-5published at 99 balls

George takes a single into the leg-side.

  14. Originals 105-5published at 98 balls

An unlikely two taken with a shot into the covers from George.

  15. Originals 103-5published at 97 balls

Scooped by George for four over the covers.

  16. Originals 99-5published at 96 balls

Incredibly short from Stonehouse - Lee gathers above her head. That's wide and two runs.

  17. Originals 97-5published at 96 balls

Wellington takes a single to point.

  18. Originals 96-5published at 95 balls

George advances down the pitch and uses her wrists to lift Bryony Smith over the cover ring. The ball races away for four.

Five balls left and the Originals are still under 100.

  19. Originals 89-5published at 90 balls

Katie George has her first boundary, dropping into her crease and driving Katherine Sciver-Brunt wide of mid-off.

1-20 off 20 for KSB. She's bowled all her deliveries, which looked unlikely after her first set.

  20. Originals 82-5published at 85 balls

Wellington finds the gap between mid-wicket and long-leg fields, whipping Kirstie Gordon for four.

Gordon finishes her day's bowling with a full toss and Wellington gets four more in the same area. One bounce and over the ropes.

Gordon finishes with 1-18, with ten of those runs in this set.
