  1. Originals 72-5published at 80 balls

Katie George is at the crease and she hits the ball back to Alana King. There's cheers from the ground but it's a bump ball.

Still no sign of Ami Campbell, who's batted at three in every match for the Originals prior to today.

  2. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 77 balls

Ecclestone run out (Gordon) 5 (Originals 72-5)

Ecclestone can keep running to the pavilion - that's out!

Reverse swept by Wellington to point and Ecclestone runs through for the single. But she's short of her ground and Lizelle Lee takes Kirstie Gordon's flat throw and breaks the stumps.

  3. Originals 71-4published at 75 balls

Captain Sophie Ecclestone is next in and she punches Smith down the ground for four from the second ball she faces.

  4. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 73 balls

    Dottin c King b Smith 30 (Originals 67-4)

Smith continues from the other end - great decision, she has the wicket of Deandra Dottin!

The West Indian batter goes big again, setting herself and sending the ball high into the Nottinghamshire sky. Alana King sets herself and takes the catch on the mid-wicket ropes.

The big Originals threat is gone.

  5. Originals 66-3published at 70 balls

The Originals batter work the singles for the remainder of the set. Wellington pulls hard, but only finds Dattani sweeping the mid-wicket boundary.

  6. dropped catch

Dottin dropped on 28published at 66 balls

    Should be gone.

Dottin down on one knee again, targeting that square boundary off Smith.

It should be an easy take for Fran Wilson but she spills the ball. That could be decisive in this match.

  7. Originals 60-3published at 65 balls

Dottin drops to one knee and smacks Gordon for four behind square.

She then hurries the final ball through for a single - Dattani throws down the stumps at the wicketkeeper's end but new batter Amanda-Jade Wellington is home safe.

  8. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 61 balls

Wolvaardt st Lee b Gordon 23 (Originals 55-3)

No mistake from Lee this time!

Wolvaardt advances down the pitch and tries to swipe Kirstie Gordon through mid-wicket but the ball stays low and Lee has time to whip the bails off.

Wolvaardt goes for 23 off 31 and this third wicket partnership of 40 off 39 is over.

  9. Originals 55-2published at 60 balls

Stonehouse offers a bit of width outside off, the 19-year-old left-armer bowling around the wicket.

Wolvaardt lifts her out the cover boundary, Nat Sciver-Brunt runs around to cut the ball off but can only parry the ball into the rope. She returns her head to the turf momentarily in despair.

  10. Originals 47-2published at 55 balls

Honours even for this set. Sciver-Brunt starts with a wide, but she holds this international pairing to three singles before her final ball runs away frustratingly for a bye.

The battle between Katherine Sciver-Brunt and Laura Wolvaardt is a fascinating one.

KSB has a good record against the South Africa batter, dismissing her four times in eight innings.

Wolvaardt has scored 27 runs off 33 balls, meaning she averages 6.75 against the former England seamer.

  12. Originals 42-2published at 50 balls

Dottin creams the ball through covers for another four and she continues to build her tempo.

The Rockets are going to bring back Katherine Sciver-Brunt...

  13. Not outpublished at 15:30 British Summer Time 17 August 2023

    Ah, no.

Wolvaardt was a long way out of her crease, but the ball was juggled by her compatriot behind the stumps. If she'd taken it cleanly then the Originals opener would have been gone by a long way.

  14. Umpire reviewpublished at 46 balls

Alana King beats the bat of the advancing Laura Wolvaardt and she's stumped by Lizelle Lee.

The umpires are taking a look - this was close.

  15. 6 runs

    Originals 35-2published at 44 balls

And there's some of that acceleration!

Dottin shows signs of a bit more impetus and she finds her mark with Bryony Smith's penultimate ball, lifting it high over mid-wicket for the first six of the innings.

  16. Originals 26-2published at 40 balls

Alana King rattles through another set of spin and the Rockets continue to turn the screw on this international pairing.

Wolvaardt has 14 off 18, Dottin 7 off 12. Some acceleration is required - and soon.

  17. Originals 23-2published at 35 balls

Woolvaardt squares up in an attempt to pull Kirstie Gordon hard, but she can't get hold of the shot.

The slow start continues for the Originals.

  18. Originals 21-2published at 30 balls

Here's the leg-breaks for Alana King for the Rockets.

Woolvaardt and Dottin exchange singles from the final two balls of the set.

  19. Originals 19-2published at 25 balls

In comes Deandra Dottin in her customary place in the Orginals line-up.

The West Indies all-rounder drives Stonehouse back into her body but the Rockets bowler isn't close to getting a hand to it.

She then whips the seamer round the corner to take her first four.

That's the end of the powerplay and it wasn't a great one for a team who chose to bat.

Will Trent Rockets turn to Katherine Sciver-Brunt or Alana King now Deandra Dottin is in the middle?

KSB has dismissed Dottin four times in 13 T20 innings, while King has got her four times in evening games.

The ex-West Indies all-rounder has scored 73 runs off 83 balls when coming up against Sciver-Brunt and 17 off 26 balls against King.
