    Need 110 more

Banged in short by Lauren Filer but Jemimah Rodrigues rocks back and pulls with authority through the leg side.

In front of square for four.

Four more! Fuller but on the pads this time and Rodrigues whips it away.

Hmm. It is shown to be going a long way down leg.

That's not how it looked to me and the Spirit players certainly aren't convinced.

It looked like it had pitched and straightened but did ball-tracking have it hitting Phoebe Litchfield on the full? Either way, it's not out.

No bat involved but is it sneaking down leg?

Big appeal for lbw to end the over after Phoebe Litchfield misses with a reverse sweep and is hit on the shin by Charlie Dean.

    It might be close.

    Scooped for four!

Cleverly played by Jemimah Rodrigues, using the pace and sending the ball to the fine leg boundary.

Very good from Charlie Dean. Just one run from that set of five and Phoebe Litchfield is still yet to get off the mark after playing and missing with a reverse sweep.

Dean will continue for another five.

  7. Superchargers 8-1published at 88 balls left

    Target 136

Heather Knight does opt for spin.

Charlie Dean is on to bowl her off-spin and after Jemimah Rodrigues gets a single second ball, the England bowler has Phoebe Litchfield in her sights...

  8. How's stat?!published at 16:34 British Summer Time 18 August 2023

Australia's Phoebe Litchfield has been one of the standout batters in the women's competition this year and is currently fourth on the run-scorers list.

So, how do you get her out?

Spin may be the way to go. The left-hander averages 21.75 against the slower stuff, compared to 28.95 against pace.

She averages 19.25 against leg-spin and has been dismissed eight times in 143 balls in T20 cricket. Her average against off-spin is 21.16.

Sarah Glenn and Charlie Dean may be key to picking up her wicket.

  9. Superchargers 7-1published at 90 balls left

    Target 136

The talented Phoebe Litchfield is in at three and although she looks more comfortable against Lauren Filer, she can't get off the mark before the end of the set.

The left-hander pulls the last ball firmly but straight to the mid-wicket fielder.

    Edged and gone!

Marie Kelly was OK to continue but the pace of Lauren Filer had caused her problems and this time it does for her.

Kelly backed away slightly, tried to hit through the off side but managed only to feather it through to Richa Ghosh.

  11. Superchargers 7-0published at 93 balls left

    Target 136

Lauren Filer is bowling the next five and shows her pace straight away, rushing Marie Kelly with a ball dug in at the body.

Kelly takes on the next, though, and the top-edged pull arcs over the short fine leg fielder and they get back for two.

In fact, it wasn't top-edge at all, it flew off Kelly's helmet and we'll have a quick concussion test.

  12. Superchargers 5-0published at 95 balls left

    Target 136

A crisp drive out to deep cover for two from Marie Kelly ends the first set.

A steady start from Danielle Gibson.

  13. Superchargers 1-0published at 99 balls left

    Target 136

Marie Kelly flicks the first ball of the chase into the leg side for a single.

    Superchargers are away.

Danielle Gibson will bowl the first set of five for London Spirit.

Marie Kelly is on strike for Northern Superchargers.

    Here we go.

    Thanks, Tom.

Well, after a tricky start, Amelia Kerr has taken London Spirit up to a decent total.

The incentive for Northern Superchargers is clear, though: win and they are guaranteed a place in the top three.

Here come the teams. The chase is just a few moments away...

Don't forget, there is a lot at stake in this match.

If Superchargers win they are through to the knockouts and Spirit are out.

Will they do it? Sam Drury is here to guide you through their chase.

    Breaking

After all that Spirit end the innings on 135-7, meaning Northern Superchargers need 136 to win.

That looks a reasonably tough total that would not have been possible without the efforts of Amelia Kerr, who ends unbeaten on 60 from 32 balls. The next-highest scorer was Dani Gibson with 24.

    A mighty fine effort.

Dean run out 4 (Spirit 135-7)

Charlie Dean with the final ball of the innings.

Dean is just short off her ground as they pushed for the extra run with the final delivery. She had to go for it though.

  19. 50 runs

50 for Amelia Kerrpublished at 96 balls

Amelia Kerr steps back and guides the ball into the leg side to bring up a 28-ball fifty.

A great effort from the New Zealander.

  20. Spirit 124-6published at 95 balls

Amelia Kerr hits the ball to deep square leg for a single to move to 49. Eight off that set, but no boundaries.

That is perhaps the thinking behind the leg spin of Georgia Wareham coming on for the final set. The drop in pace will make it tough for these batters to find the boundary.
