Buttler's playing a different game to the other England batters.
He's on 26 off 10, the others are 34 for four off 44 balls.
As well as taking wickets, New Zealand have been outstanding in the field so far.

Jos Buttler looks so nonchalant dismissing that ball. He makes it look so easy.
Target 203
Moeen Ali comes out to join Jos Buttler, who is going on his merry way despite all the chaos around him.
The skipper has looked in fine touch so far. He is 26 from 10.

Harry Brook didn't make the most of the luck he'd just got. Went for a huge shot down the ground, didn't quite get the pitch of the ball. It hits the outside of the bat, simple catch for Daryl Mitchell.
Brook c Mitchell b Sodhi 8 (Eng 55-4)
Harry Brook has to go this time!
Brook looks to go downtown but doesn't quite time it and the ball slices high into the sky towards Daryl Mitchell, who holds on to a smart catch at long-on.
He did! Just the faintest flick of a glove saves Harry Brook.
Now it is England's turn to review as Harry Brook immediately sends an lbw decision from Ish Sodhi upstairs.
He looks pretty relaxed. Did he get a nick on it?
Wow, that was nearly one of the catches of the decade - but it ends up six for England.
It is still astounding fielding as Finn Allen leaps over the boundary rope to catch the ball and throw it in one motion towards Glenn Phillips, who just can't quite leap to take it on the rebound.
But after all that, the replay shows Allen's foot had just touched the floor as he released.
All that effort for nothing.
This was the first wicket to fall as England made a shaky start to their innings. Will Jacks dismissed for 11 in the third over.
And that's why New Zealand gambled on the review.
Jos Buttler, fresh from that reprieve, smacks Ish Sodhi back over his head for six, before reverse-sweeping the final ball of the over for four.
Ooh, Jos Buttler survives - just .
It was going on to hit middle but the impact was outside off stump.
Buttler survives.
Is this two in two?
New batter Jos Buttler misses a sweep shot with his first ball and it cannons into his pads.
Umpires say no but New Zealand send it upstairs.
Not really a surprise given it is Buttler.

That pull shot against the leg-spinner was a fruitful one for New Zealand, not for England today. Not timed by Bairstow at all, it gives Glenn Phillips a simple catch.
Bairstow c Phillips b Sodhi (Eng 30-3)
Hmmm.
England are in a hole now. They had to start taking some risks, but that is fraught with danger and so it proved for Jonny Bairstow, who pulls straight to Glenn Phillips on the rope.
Harry Brook and Jonny Bairstow did this the other night.
England could do with them doing similar here.

It's just the way things go. Dawid Malan is struggling to time the ball and get it away, and Harry Brook is having the time of his life.
Harry Brook is given a leg-sided delivery from Tim Southee first up and he is able to help the ball on its way fine for four.
England have limped to 30-2 from the powerplay, further strengthening New Zealand's grip on this match.

Harry Brook has been in phenomenal form in all formats for England.
He's got all the shots, can face all sorts of bowling and hits it all around the ground. He is such a talent.
