    Oh, hello!

Jos Buttler smashes Boult straight back down the ground for six!

It does look like Ben Stokes is grimacing a little bit with his knee at the moment, but he is 85 balls into an innings.

It looks as if Ben Stokes is just going for everything.

  4. Eng 238-3published at 32.1 overs

    And again!

Trent Boult's slower ball goes a little wrong and Stokes rocks back and clubs it through the leg-side for four.

He's definitely not moving well but it doesn't matter in the slightest.

We talk about match-ups a lot in white-ball cricket but Ben Stokes is definitely winning the battle against Lockie Ferguson.

He came back on after the wicket but Tom Latham might have to think about taking him back off again.

Again, that wasn't far away from the fielder, but Ben Stokes hit it that well the fielder had no chance.

He hit everything so hard in this over.

  7. Eng 232-3published at 32 overs

    Quite a few, it seems.

Stokes is hobbling a bit, but that just means he's going to deal in boundaries.

He drives beautifully off the front foot for four, before absolutely hammering two Lockie Ferguson short balls through mid-wicket.

He is basically standing on one leg and swinging baseball-style.

And it's working. 14 from the over.

How many more can Ben Stokes add to his tally?

That was hit hard by Buttler, especially when you consider he's just got in and isn't set.

  10. Eng 218-3published at 31 overs

A successful over for New Zealand that brings a wicket, but it also brings Jos Buttler to the middle.

And he doesn't take long to get going, pulling Trent Boult for four as the bowler drops too short.

It's another game in which Dawid Malan has continued to not fail in an England shirt. You would think he is nailed on for a place in the World Cup team.

  12. wicket

    Malan c Latham b Boult 96 (Eng 212-3)

    He has! A great review!

    Dawid Malan falls for 96.

The faintest spike, and he has to go. He looks gutted, reluctantly raising his bat to The Oval crowd as they applaud him off, but he has played brilliantly once again.

He continues to silence his doubters in white-ball cricket.

  13. New Zealand reviewpublished at 30 overs

Well, this is a weird one.

The umpire gives it a wide, but New Zealand go up for a very enthusiastic appeal for caught behind.

Has Malan been strangled down the leg side?

You are clutching at straws a little bit if you are Tom Latham trying to figure out how to break up this partnership.

Stokes had 12 from his first 18 balls. He reached 100 from 76. It didn't really seem like he was trying to score quickly, either.

  16. Eng 212-2published at 30 overs

    Stokes 102, Malan 96

11 fours and three sixes in Stokes' knock, having come in at 13-2.

It's a belter of the pitch but he's made the most of it. England's dressing room are joined by most of The Oval in rising to their feet and applauding his brilliance.

And worryingly if you're a New Zealand fan, he now has a proper licence to go berserk.

    Eng 207-2

Back in the team, and back with a bang!

Ben Stokes takes an easy single to long-on to reach his fastest ODI century from just 76 balls.

A stunning knock from one of England's greatest.

  18. Eng 206-2published at 29 overs

And still they keep us waiting. A couple of singles take Stokes to 99, but he keeps the strike for the next over.

Speaking of Trent Boult though, I think his son was the highlight of New Zealand's lovely World Cup squad video.

"My dad Trent Boult!" was said with such pride. Adorable.

Desperate for a wicket, Tom Latham turns to his main man, Trent Boult.

  20. Eng 202-2published at 28 overs

Two consecutive overs without a boundary, as both Stokes and Malan keep us waiting for their centuries by taking just two from Glenn Phillips' over.

Stokes has 97, and Malan 91...
