Daryl Mitchell's medium pace is proving quite effective, slowing down the run rate amid the carnage at the other end.
Another boundary-less over but it brings up England's 200, and Stokes is on to 96.
It must be pretty demoralising for bowling oppositions to concede 194-2, with 24 overs still to come - and Jos Buttler, Liam Livingstone and Moeen Ali are still waiting to bat.
Four more!
It's a bit of a hack from Stokes, a cross-batted club down the ground off Kyle Jamieson.
He gives a bit of a wince, too - I wonder if that troublesome knee is still causing him some discomfort?
Either way, he's into the 90s...

It's a belter of a pitch to bat on.
Ben Stokes came in at 13-2, but you really wouldn't have thought it.
He has been on it since ball one.
He doesn't get the wicket but Mitchell does get through a decent over, with just four runs and no boundaries from it.
Up against Malan on 84 and Stokes on 88, that's pretty good going.
New Zealand skipper Tom Latham turns to the medium pace of Daryl Mitchell to try and force a breakthrough.
But Ben Stokes is having one of those days.
Is Ben Stokes on track for his quickest ODI century? Here's how quick his previous three have been:
77 balls v South Africa in Southampton in 2017
98 balls v Bangladesh in Mirpur in 2016
108 balls v Australia in Birmingham in 2017
He's currently on 85 off 61 balls so needs 15 more runs in 15 balls to beat his record.

It's those sort of deliveries which tell you this is a cracking pitch to bat on. It is a lovely timed cricket stroke.
Malan 83, Stokes 85
A touch of class followed by some power.
Malan hits his first six with a whack over mid-wicket, from what was a rather solid delivery from Kyle Jamieson.
Another expensive over, 12 from it, and England are racing.

Lovely piece of timing from Malan, he looked to get his front foot at that ball and just timed it off the surface. A nice shot.
Oh, that is lovely.
Dawid Malan plays a picture-perfect straight drive back past Kyle Jamieson for his 12th boundary.
Jason Roy's back spasms have given him heck of an opportunity here, and he has snatched it with both hands.

The 150 partnership came from 19.5 overs. Ravindra's first two overs at Southampton went for 11 runs. Since then, he has bowled four overs and has given away 49 runs, including five sixes.
Ravindra recovers somewhat to bowl two dots to Stokes to close out the over, but there's 17 runs from it and he's gone for 28 from just two overs so far.

England are threatening to get well into the 300s here. I think they will be extremely disappointed if they don't reach 350 from this position. Especially if Stokes keeps playing shots like he is.
And again!
Back-to-back sixes over mid-wicket for Stokes.
Stokes adds to the pressure...
Six more into the crowd!
He goes again.
Malan nails a reverse sweep to the boundary to put Rachin Ravindra under pressure first ball.

If you are a New Zealander seeing the pace and power off this pitch, you can't waste it. When you get in, you have to nail it.
Glorious from Dawid Malan, as he drives the left-arm pace of Ben Lister through the covers for four more.
He often seems to be under scrutiny for his England place but his ODI average is now hovering towards 60, and he is playing beautifully here.
