That's a monster six from Danni Wyatt. She gets underneath the ball, brings the bat up and that is a great shot.

That's a monster six from Danni Wyatt. She gets underneath the ball, brings the bat up and that is a great shot.
Short again from Sugandika Kumari and Danni Wyatt gets after it once more.
This time she sends it high over the rope at backward square leg - a long way back for six!
As per CricViz's captaincy grid, rating the likelihood of each bowler getting each batter out Sugandika Kumari is deemed a good option to bowl at Maia Bouchier, but a bad option to bowl at Danni Wyatt.

Danni Wyatt's great summer is just continuing here.
Bouchier 6, Wyatt 12
Too short from Sugandika Kumari and Danni Wyatt clubs it away over square leg.
Not quite enough on it to clear the rope, it's one bounce for four.
Big hit down the ground to end the over from Maia Bouchier.
The England batter doesn't get all of it from Udeshika Prabodhani, her hand comes off the bat but the contact is good enough.
A couple of bounces for four.

The margin for error with Danni Wyatt on the off side is so, so slim. Anything outside the off stump will be punished.
Maia Bouchier nudges a single first ball before Danni Wyatt gets off the mark with a boundary.
A low full toss from Udeshika Prabodhani and Wyatt punches it through the covers for four.

It's a series where England are going to mix things up. Maia Bouchier at the top of the order, no Tammy Beaumont, no Sophie Ecclestone, no Nat Sciver-Brunt. With those players missing, it is about who is going to step up for England.
Udeshika Prabodhani will bowl the first over of what will be a five-over powerplay.
Before Mahika Gaur gets her chance to show what she can do with the ball, it's the turn of the England batters.
Maia Bouchier has been given a chance at the top of the order alongside Danni Wyatt.
They've made their way to the middle and we're ready to go..

We don't see a lot of bowlers get a lot of bounce in the women's game and that is something that will really excite us watching Mahika Gaur.

When was the last time we saw a 6' 3" seamer playing women's cricket in England? It just doesn't happen. Mahika Gaur has so much raw talent, she can bowl in the powerplay, bowl in the death, but she still has so much to learn. For me, it's just a player you have to get excited about seeing.
The covers are off, the floodlights are on and - an hour later than scheduled - we're just about ready for the off at Hove.
A reminder that the rain means it is now a 17 overs per side contest.

I am really looking forward to this series from Sri Lanka's point of view, there's been a lot of development work. These are the games you want, they are coming off a great win over New Zealand. It's exciting times.

There's a big crowd here, I hear it's sold out so I am very much looking forward to it.
It feels slightly strange looking at an England team without any of Nat Sciver-Brunt, Katherine Sciver-Brunt, Sophia Dunkley and Sophie Ecclestone in it.
But it does give others a great chance to show what they've got. Given KSB has retired, there is still a seam bowling place up for grabs...
The ECB has confirmed that Lauren Bell has returned home and will miss tonight's game and the second T20 at Chelmsford due to illness.
The hope is that she'll be able to join the group again later in the series.
England: Danni Wyatt, Maia Bouchier, Alice Capsey, Heather Knight (capt), Amy Jones (wk), Freya Kemp, Danielle Gibson, Sarah Glenn, Charlie Dean, Kate Cross, Mahika Gaur.
Sri Lanka: Harshitha Samarawickrama, Chamari Athapaththu (capt), Nilakshi de Silva, Vishmi Gunaratne, Kavisha Dilhari, Anushka Sanjeewani (wk), Inoka Ranaweera, Sugandika Kumari, Udeshika Prabodhani, Hasini Perera, Kawya Kavindi.
England captain Heather Knight: "We'd have bowled as well.
"But it looks a pretty hard pitch, it's obviously been under cover for a bit so might nip around early but I think it'll be pretty bouncy and pretty quick.
"Kate Cross is playing her first T20 for a few years and Mahika Gaur is making her before debut. She's a really, exciting young fast bowler for us.
"We're looking forward to giving a few more girls an opportunity.
"Maia Bouchier is going to open alongside Danni Wyatt."
On squad changes: "We took the opportunity to rest a few players after a long, hard summer. Sri Lanka are a good side but this is an opportunity to try some new things.
"You don't often get the opportunity to blood young players so we took this one."
