    Kulasuriya b Glenn 2 (SL 101-9)

    Sarah Glenn has her third!

Achini Kulasuriya was going nowhere fast, just blocking anything on the stumps.

But she gets herself caught on the crease, the ball from Glenn turns back and gets through to make a mess of the stumps.

  2. SL 101-8published at 27 overs

Alice Capsey rattles through another over. A maiden to Udeshika Prabodhani.

The England off-spinner nearly snares the ninth wicket with a delivery that just slides past the outside edge.

Amy Jones doesn't like to know stats like that. She likes to stay present.

  4. How's stat?!published at 12:57 British Summer Time 9 September 2023

With that catch for the eighth wicket, Amy Jones now has five dismissals in the innings.

No England keeper has ever managed that before.

  5. SL 101-8published at 26 overs

Slider from Sarah Glenn and she nearly gets it through Udeshika Prabodhani's defences first up.

The tailender just about gets enough bat on it to keep it out and clips a single next ball.

Sri Lanka have at least made it to three figures now.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 25.3 overs

    Ranasinghe c Jones b Glenn 9 (SL 100-8)

    There's one of them!

Oshadi Ranasinghe goes back to cut Sarah Glenn and gets a nick behind.

Well taken by Amy Jones and Sri Lanka are eight down.

    Thanks, Mike.

England in complete control at this stage. They'll want to take these last three wickets as quickly as possible now.

  8. SL 96-7published at 25 overs

More dots than a Seurat painting as Ranasinghe takes another six for a Capsey maiden.

Hint of a run-out chance as keeper Amy Jones throws down the stumps after Ranasinghe over-stretches, but the ball misses the wicket.

Here's Sam Drury to see you through the rest of this Sri Lankan innings.

  9. SL 96-7published at 24 overs

Eight dot balls go by as new batter Achini Kulasuriya sees off the remainder of Capsey's over before Ranasinghe takes a watchful approach to Sarah Glenn, who changes end to replace Filer.

Ranasinghe finally works a single from Glenn's final delivery, striking off the pads to retain the strike.

Harshitha has played that glance really well but this time she has paid the price. That is a really big blow for Sri Lanka.

  11. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 22.3 overs

    Harshitha c Jones b Capsey 35 (SL 95-7)

    Skimmed the bat it did!

Capsey's delivery looked like it was drifting down, Harshitha moved to turn the ball around the corner and initially didn't seem to get anything on it, but snicko produces a nice thick line as the ball passes the bat.

An impressive take down the leg-side from Amy Jones.

The umpire started to give this away by signalling a wide, surely?

  13. Umpire reviewpublished at 22.3 overs

Alice Capsey delivers a leg-side wide... or does she? Has the ball skimmed Harshitha's bat on the way through?

Umpire James Middlebrook doesn't thing so, but England are going to check.

  14. SL 95-6published at 22 overs

Harshitha picks up three from Filer, as Maia Bouchier once again sends the rope sponge flying while cutting off the four.

The Sri Lanka batter breaches the boundary four balls later, flicking off her hip.

  15. SL 86-6published at 21 overs

Capsey offers up a juicy delivery and Ranasinghe works it to the fine leg boundary.

By the way, Nat Sciver-Brunt won't be bowling, not that England seem to be missing her today.

England have such variety in their bowling attack. They have the height and angle of Mahika Gaur and then the pace of Lauren Filer.

  17. SL 80-6published at 20 overs

Too short from Filer on this occasion and she gets called for a wide.

Ranasinghe then takes a single into the leg-side.

  18. SL 78-6published at 19.5 overs

Oshadi Ranasinghe sees off the hat-trick ball, pushing into the off-side.

That is a nothing shot. It is so disappointing because that is what you do in fielding practice.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 19.4 overs

    De Silva c Jones b Filer 0 (SL 78-6)

Two in two! Lauren Filer is on a hat-trick!

Catching practice for Amy Jones, Nilakshi de Silva is cramped for room and can only guide the ball right into the keeper's gloves.
