Kate Cross didn't bowl anywhere as well as she would have liked in the T20s so she'll want to get back into some rhythm today.
This is her bread and butter, 50-over cricket.
The Sri Lanka batters find some joy from Kate Cross's sixth over, Harshitha pushes into deep mid-wicket and Maia Bouchier does well to cut off the four, patting the ball away before crashing through the ropes - she kindly resets the foam padding.
Perera then finds the boundary, helping a short straight delivery from Cross on its way.

Sarah Glenn just doing what she does best, keeping the stumps in play.
Gunaratne back in front of all three stumps, tried to work it to leg and squares herself up. That is so out. No wonder she didn't review.
Gunaratne lbw b Glenn 9 (SL 40-3)
Sarah Glenn has a wicket in her first over!
Out of the back of the hand and no turn on the delivery, the ball strikes Gunaratne quite high but she's deep in her crease - that's very out.
In comes Hasini Perera, with Sri Lanka in trouble.

The slips and the keeper were convinced but Kate Cross didn't even appeal.
It was the wobble ball and it just nipped back between bat and pad.
The first four in five overs as Gunaratne drives Cross down the ground to end the powerplay with a little sign of impetus.
Cross will find more to like in the rest of the over - although she shows no sign of being interest in an appeal for caught behind that's interested the slips. The umpires agrees with her.

Knowing what Mahika Gaur can do and having seen what she's done for Thunder, to see her go out today and do the same is very exciting.
Gaur continues for a fifth over - she's still young, she could bowl all day!
Gunaratne takes a single to fine leg before Gaur troubles Harshitha for five run-less deliveries. The England seamer is cutting out the loose deliveries - and she has two wickets already.
A lot of overs to go for Sri Lanka, plenty of time to rebuild but the early loss of their captain is a big blow to any ambitions they had of winning this match.
Three runs from this Kate Cross over, Harshitha dropping a ball in space and running two before Emma Lamb's throw comes in.

This powerplay is looking like a match-winner. England have the chance to eliminate any chance of a big total after seeing the struggles against spin, they need to be chasing a low total.
Two new batters for Sri Lanka with Harshitha Samarawickrama and Vishmi Gunaratne at the crease.
Gunaratne picks up her first run with a single behind square.

This is what is rare in the women's game, the swing. We all know if you keep swinging the ball, you put doubt in people's minds.
Mahika Gaur is getting the ball to talk and Sri Lanka have no answer. She's looking fantastic.
Magic Meeks is on fire!
Sanjeewani b Gaur 5 (SL 26-2)
Mahika Gaur fells stumps for fun!
Another cracking delivery, a touch of swing and it's far too good for Anushka Sanjeewani.
Both Sri Lankan openers are back in the hutch.

This is a real chance for England to stamp their authority and put their foot on the throat.
Maiden over for Kate Cross as Sanjeewani plays out six deliveries.
Sri Lanka will need to regroup.

Lovely. Nice shape and Mahika Gaur deserved that. She'd been nagging away on a good line and length.
You want debutants to be brave, she was and she found that bit of swing.

Absolute peach of a delivery from Mahika Gaur.
Athapaththu b Gaur 10 (SL 22-1)
A first England ODI wicket for Mahika Gaur - and it's the vital wicket of Chamari Athapaththu!
The 17-year-old has struggled with her line in these opening overs - the wicket was preceded by a leg-side wide - but she displays her wicket taking ability with this ball. A lovely shape to the delivery, beats Athapaththu all ends up and splays the stumps.
Sri Lanka's star batter is gone.

Sanjeewani waited a long time to get her first runs but what a way to get them. Glorious drive.
