There are only a few players in the women's game to hit the ball like a train and Chamari Athapaththu is one of them.
A second boundary for Athapaththu, driving Cross through the covers.
The England seamer goes on to trouble her opponent - a ball spits up off the pitch and the Sri Lankan captain shakes her hand a bit after defending the ball away. A slow ball yorker follows - kept out.

You've absolutely got to be accurate because if you bowl fast but slightly wayward to someone like Chamari Athapaththu, that's a boundary every time.

Chamari Athapaththu's eyes lit up when she saw that one. The first boundary of the day.
First four of the match for Athapaththu as Gaur's line strays. She delivers a full toss onto the legs and the Sri Lankan skipper doesn't need asking twice - she lifts the ball over the fielding ring to the mid-wicket boundary.
A shout for lbw off Sanjeewani from Gaur's final delivery, but turned away by the umpire - it was striking the thigh pad.

It doesn't surprise me that Kate Cross is opening rather than Lauren Filer because Lauren can stray a bit as she tries to bowl so fast.
I think Heather Knight will hold her back in the powerplay then let her loose.
Kate Cross takes the ball for England at the other end. She faces off against captain Chamari Athapaththu after Sanjeewani took all of Gaur's over.
The Sri Lankan captain takes the single from the fifth ball. A watchful start from the Sri Lankan openers.

That didn't look like something Amy Jones should miss. It was an awkward bounce and a rare miss for someone of Amy's quality.
A disappointing start for Gaur as her second ball slips down the leg-side and races away for five wides.
However it's the only runs she concedes in the over as she finds her and beats the bat of opener Anushka Sanjeewani.

Anything is possible. That's what Sri Lanka will be thinking. They'll have to focus on the basics and be very disciplined in sticking to their strengths.
They don't have the fast bowlers to intimidate batters but they have the spinners and different variations, plus they field very well.
The teams are out in sunny Durham. Mahika Gaur is in the action straight away, opening the bowling for England.
Here we go!
England hand debuts to three players - seamers Lauren Filer and Mahika Gaur and all-rounder Maia Bouchier.
Former UAE bowler Gaur, 17, made her first England appearance in the T20 series Sri Lanka, while Filer's only previous international experience came in this summer's Test against Australia.
Bouchier, who has been capped 22 times in T20 internationals, comes in off the back of an excellent Hundred season where she came fourth in the run stats.
England: Tammy Beaumont, Emma Lamb, Heather Knight (c), Natalie Sciver-Brunt, Alice Capsey, Maia Bouchier, Amy Jones (wk), Sarah Glenn, Kate Cross, Lauren Filer, Mahika Gaur
Sri Lanka: Chamari Athapaththu (c), Harshitha Madavi, Vishmi Gunaratne, Nilakshi de Silva, Kavisha Dilhari, Anushka Sanjeewani (wk), Oshadi Ranasinghe, Inoka Ranaweera, Achini Kulasuriya, Hasini Perera, Udeshika Prabodhani
Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu: "We would have definitely batted first because I'm confident with our batting unit.
"I am pretty confident about our unit. Everybody knows that England are a good side in this format though so it will be about executing our skills as best as possible."
England captain Heather Knight: "It will be a good wicket but if it does anything I think it will be first up.
"We don't want to go into our shells. We want to be positive and we probably have been a little off it if we're honest but fresh faces in the group and a new format will help. We're really excited to attack these ODIs and bring the best versions of ourselves.
"It is great to have Nat Sciver-Brunt back - she'll be playing as a batter and not bowling.
"Dani Gibson has a little side strain but we're hoping she'll be available for the final two games."
Heather Knight finally wins the toss having lost it in all three T20 games.
Her side was told to bat on each occasion in that series and Knight follows the trend and puts the opposition in.
A little bit of history was made in Derby on Thursday.
Sri Lanka secured a first ever T20 series win against England, their batters chasing down England's 116 with relative ease.
We move to Durham now for the first of three ODIs. Could Sri Lanka do it again?
