It was a nothing kind of way to get out. It was a good length ball and Alice probably should have gone forward. It wasn't a 70mph and swinging a foot or anything. It was very gentle. Alice will be disappointed.

Alice Capsey had a quick look at the pitch, but the ball and its trajectory was always going to do for her.

    Bowled her!

Smart bowling from Prabodhani who has got the ball nipping around. Capsey goes back to a full ball, and is beaten all ends up.

She looks behind in frustration at the sight of the splattered stumps and Sri Lanka are understandably elated.

  4. Eng 18-1published at 4 overs

The lack of pace is frustrating Alice Capsey but she remains patient, and gets the reward with a glorious cover drive to the boundary.

  5. Eng 11-1published at 3 overs

Prabodhani responds well with three dot balls to Bouchier, including a lovely swinging delivery that beats her outside edge.

It's definitely going to be another test for England's batters against slow bowling today.

Well, it doesn't matter how slow it is - when it's that short, Maia Bouchier is not going to miss out.

Smoked over mid-wicket for England's first boundary in style.

It's death by the lack of pace for England's batters here. It's very much wait, wait and wait. They're not going to get any favours from the Sri Lanka bowlers.

  8. Eng 5-1published at 2 overs

A fine over for Kulasuriya, a wicket maiden.

Her slingy action is proving quite tricky for the England batters to read.

Fair play to Tammy, she's trying to use her feet with the lack of pace. She's tried to take it on the half volley but with that little bit of away movement, she has not got hold of it and it's gone to the hands of slip.

Tammy Beaumont had a life in the previous over but that was a wild hack.

    Beaumont c Perera b Kulasuriya 2 (Eng 5-1)

    Gone this time!

What an unusual innings. Tammy Beaumont was swinging at everything like it was a 10-over game, and skips down the track to Achini Kulasuriya's second ball.

It's wide, she loses her shape and nicks it to Hasina Perera.

Delight and relief for Sri Lanka after that earlier drop.

Tammy Beaumont went for her strongest shot, her head fell a bit. But fortunately for her it was dropped by mid-wicket. Sri Lanka will be disappointed because Tammy's wicket is a big one.

    Eng 5-0

    Oh no!

Tammy Beaumont is trying to whack every ball here. She gets hold of one to short mid-wicket but Harshitha Madavi can't hold on.

It was hit firmly so not an easy chance, but one that should have been taken.

    A big moment.

  14. Eng 1-0published at 0.2 overs

Beaumont makes her intent clear as she charges down the track to Prabodhani's second ball, and takes a quick single to mid-off.

Bess Heath will have to wait a while for her turn with the bat, as Tammy Beaumont and Maia Bouchier make their way to the middle.

Udeshika Prabodhani will bowl the first over.

Bess Heath is a lovely human being. She's only 22 and plays for the Northern Diamonds. She's a short and strong young lady. She used to play rugby so will run through walls for you. I know her wicketkeeping has come on a lot recently. Very promising with the bat. She's also a tree surgeon and into trucks!

The covers are nearly all gone now. There's a couple of wheely covers to go off but that's about it. After a frustrating wait we're close to getting under way now.

England's downfall in the T20 series was how their batters struggled against Sri Lanka's spinners.

They were bowled out cheaply with most of those wickets going to spinners.

In a shortened game, that does bring Sri Lanka into it a bit more - and England will certainly be wary of that. But of course, they have Nat Sciver-Brunt back in this format who is one of their best players of spin.

Sri Lanka's T20 series victory against England has put them on a high whatever happens in the rest of the tour. They were convincing wins as well.
