    Enjoy!

  2. 'It was an above par score'published at 18:44 British Summer Time 23 September 2023

England captain Zak Crawley: "An all-round good performance. Jacks and Hain were brilliant and then our spinners backed it up nicely.

"I think it was an above par score. Batting didn't look easy, so we were happy with how it went.

"I was so impressed with how George Scrimshaw bounced back, he showed a lot of character.

"I wanted to give him another over after a tough start and give him a chance. It's the way my career has gone, so I think that's an important part of my captaincy."

There were probably more positives than negatives for Ireland. Ireland just lost regular wickets and that was the problem. They need to be six down at the tail end of this game rather than eight down.

  4. 'We didn't play well enough for long periods of time'published at 18:40 British Summer Time 23 September 2023

Ireland captain Paul Stirling: "I think there was enough there if we put it in the right areas but we didn't manage to."

What were your thoughts at half-time?: "The wicket got a lot tougher to score on. I'm proud of how the lads came back, we showed a lot of fight and character but we didn't play well enough for long periods of time.

Thoughts ahead of Tuesday's finale at Bristol: "It's our last game of the season so the energy should be up and hopefully, we can do that on Thursday.

Proud of the moments you did have at the end of that game?: "The scoreline flattered us but I'd rather have those moments than not have them. We will look to improve come Tuesday before sitting down and chatting about where we go."

  5. 'I'm still learning on the job'published at 18:38 British Summer Time 23 September 2023

Player of the Match Will Jacks: "We got off to a great start and the Irish guys would probably admit that they didn't bowl too well up front.

"But then they corrected their lengths and it was much harder to bat after that. We had to plug our way through to get up to a good score.

"It was nice to get back in to the flow of 50-over cricket because we don't play it that often and I still feel like I am learning on the job.

"We weren't perfect with the ball but we just wanted to keep it simple and get the job done in the end.

"It's a great opportunity for us all to put our names forward with the World Cup guys resting."

It was a curious day. Had Ireland kept some more wickets in hand they could have caused a few nerves among an inexperienced England attack.

Rehan Ahmed was the standout with ball in hand for England, taking 4-54 from his 10 overs.

Scrimshaw recovered from his horror start with three wickets, with two for Matthew Potts as well.

It got slightly closer than we expected or thought at the halfway stage. It was a par score, England could and should have got up to 400. The partnerships lost at the top cost Ireland.

If Josh Little makes two more runs to go to 21, batters 9, 10 and 11 all would've made their best ever ODI scores.

They're all just going through the motions now.

Trent Bridge has gone very subdued. Brydon Carse is bowling with good pace but without any luck.

This is such a frustrating situation. You need one wicket to win as a bowling team and the No.11 is just stood there swinging.
