England turn to the short ball tactic early.
It's probably not the worst idea because everything full is flying to the boundary, but surely they just need to look at what Matt Henry did for New Zealand and just bowl straight, and slightly back of a length?
And right on cue, the short ball draws a false shot from Ravindra that just evades Jonny Bairstow at mid-wicket.

The round the wicket angle when there is no movement is just opening up both sides of the ground.
With the pace of Mark Wood, all you have to do is time the ball and it races through.
Rachin Ravindra has moved on to 38 from 25 balls, and it's been all class.

Beautiful stroke. He didn't bother moving after that. It's one of the shots of the day.
Wow.
Devon Conway with a cover drive that you could just watch over and over again.
More punishment for Mark Wood. Pace is not working.

A howl breaks out from the Indian supporters who have rather adopted New Zealand here.
Target 283
The best of the lot.
Full from Curran and it's driven beautifully straight back past him for four more. Ravindra holds the pose too, and why not?! That was stunning.
England need to take some confidence from the fact that they also got off to a flyer in the first 10 overs, but were pegged back in the middle.
They've got to hope that Adil Rashid and co. can do the same for them.

Just pure timing. There's nothing agricultural about it.
Dealing in boundaries!
Conway pulls the first ball of Sam Curran's over to the ropes.

It's a lovely shot, Ravindra just gets on top of the bounce and with the pace of Mark Wood, there's no need for him to throw his hands at it.
Target 283
Four more! Threaded through the off side this time with glorious timing.
17 runs from Mark Wood's first over, despite his high pace. Plenty for Jos Buttler to think about here.
Wow. Rachin Ravindra looks in sparkling form.
He's on to the back foot so quickly and pulls Mark Wood over square leg for six!
What a powerful yet elegant shot that is to bring up New Zealand's fifty.

92.5mph. It's a rapid start from Mark Wood but angling in to Conway from round the wicket and he doesn't miss out.
Ah. That's not the resumption he'd have been hoping for.
His first ball is quick, but it's on leg stump and clipped away for yet another Devon Conway boundary.
Here's a sight that will get us all excited.
Mark Wood has ball in hand for the first time since the Ashes.
His last ball may have just been whacked for four but Sam Curran has started really well here.
He got a bit of help from Will Young to get the wicket, though.

He's absolutely crunched that. Ravindra has timed everything since he's come in.

What a shot. Absolutely brilliantly timed and equally well placed.
Target 283
Oh, wow.
That is absolutely nailed for four by Rachin Ravindra as he smokes Sam Curran's last ball through the covers for four.
That's a shot of the day contender, for sure.
