Yeah, the pressure tells on Sam Curran as he concedes a run.
From his 13th ball.
Criminal.

All the runs so far have come off Woakes. I wonder if Sam Curran is feeling the pressure?

Woakes errs in line and pays the penalty. What started as a good over turns into another expensive one.
Target 283
Woakes' woes continue.
The first isn't a bad ball, but Rachin Ravindra gets a stroke of luck as he flashes outside off stump and the ball sails in the air, but past the point fielder for four more.
The second isn't luck. It's down the leg side and Ravindra helps it on its way.
Woakes just can't seem to find any rhythm today.

Fantastic effort from Sam Curran. Two maidens in the powerplay, when have we seen that in a white-ball game?
Not very often.
Target 283
Chris Woakes is struggling at one end while Sam Curran is unplayable at the other.
He has a big appeal for lbw on Devon Conway but decides not to review, as it's probably too high. He then nips one past the outside edge with a bit of extra bounce.
Back-to-back maidens from the all-rounder. Class.

Far too short from Chris Woakes.
Target 283
Four more!
Too short this time from Woakes and Ravindra cashes in.

Lovely shot from Ravindra. There have been some superbly timed shots which makes you think there are runs to be scored here.
Hmmm.
Chris Woakes has not quite been at his consistent best. Rachin Ravindra is tied down with nought from six balls before he gets a gift on leg stump that he can clip away for four.
Target 283
A wicket maiden.
The perfect start for Sam Curran.

Not the ball Sam Curran would have wanted to start this World Cup, not what Will Young would have wanted to start either.
He's glanced it down the leg side and into the gloves of Jos Buttler.

The finger goes up and Young is gone first ball. Just the littlest of tickles.
England have the breakthrough that they sorely wanted. Sam Curran has burgled a wicket.
Young c Buttler b Curran 0 (NZ 10-1)
Sam Curran strikes with his first ball!
It's a fortunate one for Curran as Will Young is strangled down the leg side, but he won't care in the slightest.
The batter will be furious with that. England have the early breakthrough they needed.

A couple of lovely boundaries from Devon Conway. The second of them was sumptuous through the covers.
Target 283
Too full again from Woakes, and driven for four again by Conway.
That was glorious, straight out of the textbook.
A positive start for the Black Caps.
Target 283
Hello!
Devon Conway drives the first ball firmly for four.
Here we go then.
Jos Buttler leads England out with a skip and a swish of his arms, followed by New Zealand openers Devon Conway and Will Young.
It'll be England's Mr Reliable, Chris Woakes, to take the first over.
New Zealand's chase will start shortly but before then, why not take some time to get to know England's players a little better?
BBC Sport have teamed up with fast bowler Reece Topley to give you the down low on the England squad that are attempting to defend the World Cup.
Who is the dad of the group? Who thinks he is the best at most things the squad do? Who is the fan favourite?
Harry Brook's cameo of 25 from 17 balls probably sums up England's entire innings, to be honest.
It was fun, it had a little bit of everything, but wasn't quite their best.
