  1. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 44.2 overs

    Najibullah c Kohli b Bumrah 2 (Afg 229-6)

    Another one goes.

A really good slower ball from Jasprit Bumrah and Najibullah Zadran is through the shot far too early.

He ends up spooning it straight up for a simple catch for Virat Kohli.

  2. Afg 229-5published at 44 overs

Ravindra Jadeja is back on. He'll probably bowl out with four successive overs.

Four singles from his first of those.

280 at this point would be the holy grail for Afghanistan. Any more would be a bonus.

  4. Afg 225-5published at 43 overs

Kuldeep Yadav is done for the day.

He finishes with 1-40 from his 10 overs.

  5. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 42.4 overs

    Hashmatullah lbw b Kuldeep 80 (Afg 225-5)

    Out!

    Middle of middle/off stump.

A good innings from Hashmatullah Shahidi, but he falls when Afghanistan needed him to bat through.

It was very straight and looked quite a straightforward decision for the umpire.

  7. Afghanistan reviewpublished at 42.4 overs

Hashmatullah Shahidi is out! He won't be the first Afghanistan batter to make a century in a World Cup.

    Or will he?

After a chat he decides to review. It looked good live.

Afghanistan doing a really good job against one of the tournament favourites here. 270+ could really challenge India. Only problem for them is that this pitch is very flat and easy to bat on so I wouldn’t be surprised if India can chase down a score like that in 30-35 overs.

  9. Afg 224-4published at 42 overs

Mohammed Siraj is back. He needs a good end to rescue his figures.

His first five balls go for six, but he can't get out of the over.

He drops onto the hip of Hashmatullah Shahidi, who cleverly paddle pulls for four round the corner.

    Hashmatullah is up to 80.

Afghanistan will want to go at about 6.5 an over. These two batters are in and there's enough in the shed, so I'd be looking at 280.

I don't think that's enough to win, but is about par for where they are at now.

  11. Not outpublished at 41 overs

Nabi didn't leave his crease once.

    A waste of everyone's time.

  12. Umpire reviewpublished at 41 overs

    Afg 214-4

Hashmatullah Shahidi is fine to continue after a little stretch and rub.

Off the final ball of the over KL Rahul whips the bails off as Mohammad Nabi misses with a cut.

He's almost certainly in but Michael Gough wants to have another look anyway.

  13. Afg 214-4published at 40.5 overs

Hashmatullah Shahidi crunches a sweep shot away to the square-leg boundary rider, but he's cramped up.

He's hobbled his way to the non-striker's end for the single but now needs some treatment.

I love the intent from Hashmatullah. Afghanistan had that period of consolidation but have moved through the gears really well.

  15. Afg 211-4published at 40 overs

Brilliant. Ishan Kishan stops back-to-back boundaries with a superb diving save in the covers. Every run could be crucial.

10 overs to go. Can Afghanistan get up to 300?

  16. Afg 204-4published at 39 overs

Turns out it was just a change of ends for Kuldeep Yadav.

Just a single from the over. Kuldeep is 0-36 from eight overs.

    Afghanistan have lost some momentum.

Here's how Hardik Pandya picked up the wicket of Azmatullah Omarzai.

  18. Afg 203-4published at 38 overs

Rohit Sharma is continuing to rotate his bowlers, with Shardul Thakur returning to replace Kuldeep Yadav.

A good over for the hosts. Two singles off it.

  19. Afg 201-4published at 37 overs

    Hashmatullah 63, Nabi 6

A scruffy over from Hardik Pandya, giving away two wides and generally straying onto the pads.

There was a brief appeal for lbw against Mohammad Nabi by Hardik Pandya but he gets a very quick shake of the head from umpire Paul Reiffel.

Hashmatullah Shahidi has played a really nice innings for his side.
