One thing I will never understand is why Mahmudullah is batting at number seven.
That was too short and sat up really nicely for him.
India captain Rohit Sharma struggles to make himself heard above the cacophony of noise as he attempts to direct his troops from down on the boundary.
Shardul Thakur drifts on to the pads of Mahmudullah who effortlessly flicks it away his third ball for four.
Thakur's next ball is short and Mahmudullah picks the length quickly and hammers it into the stands for six on the pull.

Every time Jadeja swoops for the ball, my mind goes back to those old national geographic videos of an eagle swooping for its prey.
Just fantastic to watch. The motion is so beautiful.
Jasprit Bumrah gives very little away in his eighth over.
Nasum Ahmed with a wild swish to his fourth ball but doesn't make contact. The penultimate delivery sees another ugly swipe and a thick edge down to third.
Bangladesh getting increasingly desperate here.
By the way, India have taken a couple of screamers today haven't they?
Mahmudullah still there for Bangladesh. He can give it a biff as we saw a little while ago.
Kuldeep Yadav, meanwhile, finishes with 1-47 off his 10 overs after a tight finish to his allocation.

They've all gone up behind but Bumrah didn't go up. He's not interested.
Nasum must have hit the ground because I heard a noise.
KL Rahul thinks Nasum Ahmed has nicked the final ball of the over from Jasprit Bumrah but neither the umpires nor Rohit Sharma share the convinction.

What a catch again.
Hit hard, it came out the middle of Mushfiqur's bat. He was looking good but Bangladesh needed more from him.

Caught brilliantly by Jadeja. He loves it. It's to his weak side, if you can call it that.
He was off like an acrobat to his right. It's been a sad demise for Bangladesh.
Mushfiqur c Jadeja b Bumrah 38 (Ban 201-6)
What a grab from Ravindra Jadeja! Jasprit Bumrah just stands and applauds.
Mushfiqur Rahim slashes a slightly wider one from Bumrah towards backward point. That looked like it was destined for the boundary before the intervention of Jadeja.
The ball is travelling but Jadeja anticipates its flight and dives full length to hold on to it in a completely horizontal position. It was as if had a jetpack on his back.

Bangladesh have lost their way after that good start. They looked to be comfortably on their way to 280-plus.
The uniqueness about this ground is that when the sun goes down, it gets a bit breezy, blowing across the ground. There's no dew and that does help the seamers.
You see a bit of movement with the new ball. At times the surface does get a bit juicy under the lights.

Terrific last over from Ravindra Jadeja. He's bowled brilliantly and fielded, as always, outstandingly.
"Let's paint the world blue" reads a placard held up by an India fan in the stands in Pune. They have 99.9% of fans in this cricket ground backing them for starters.
Ravindra Jadeja concedes just one run off his final over as he finishes with 2-38.

Sho: Shanto 8 off 17, Mehidy 3 off 13 and Hridoy 16 off 35. Just an awful showing from the middle order.

That's a good hit and Bangladesh need a few of them. They really need to get to around 270.
With 10 overs to go Mahmudullah decides now is the time to grab the game by the scruff off the neck and get Bangladesh to a competitive total.
He shimmies down the pitch to Kuldeep Yadav's third ball and heaves it over the boundary at mid-wicket for six.
The uber-cool Ravindra Jadeja bowls his penultimate over for not very many. Three singles from it, in fact.
Meanwhile here's how Towhid Hridoy was dismissed a few moments ago.
Not exactly a vintage innings from Hridoy, who scratched around for 35 balls for 16 before he did this...
A controlled drive through the covers from Mahmudullah which screeches away to the boundary as he ends Mohammed Siraj's over with a flourish.
Picked his gap superbly. The start of a big finish from Bangladesh?

ODIs nowadays are about keeping wickets in the hutch and pushing for the last 20 overs like a T20. Bangladesh could still go big here still. If they keep wickets, they could get 300. Hopefully I’ve not put the mockers on them…
