Umpire's call for leg stump, there will be a few puzzled thoughts out there. South Africa thought, and so did I, it was middle and leg.

Dawid Malan is a lucky boy. It's umpire's call hitting leg stump. That was mighty mighty close.

De Kock had a couple right against Australia that no-one thought was right. He liked that one.
Dawid Malan attempts to flick one off his legs from Marco Jansen this time, but is struck high on the pad having shuffled across.
South Africa like this and review it.
Dawid Malan off the mark with a bounday, which he comfortably tickles round the corner.

South Africa were 16-1 after their first five overs but once they were able to pick up the pace of the pitch, they were able to quickly accelerate.
Jonny Bairstow twice attempts to flick South Africa left-arm seamer Marco Jansen as per his first over, but he's unable to time it.
This is a strategy fraught with risk against the swinging ball as Bairstow is in danger of being trapped lbw and the leading edge.

That was more like it, a more controlled shot. Ngidi strayed onto leg stump and Bairstow, as he did at the start of the World Cup, opens his account with a six.
Here comes Jonny...
Jonny Bairstow picks up the length of Lungi Ngidi, who slips on to his legs, and effortlessly flicks it into the stands for six.

A wild slog, that was horrible. That was within a fraction of clearing Bairstow up.

That first ball was an 88mph loosener, he is certainly lively, but it is Ngidi's shape that is arguably more dangerous.
Jonny Bairstow defends Lungi Ngidi a few times before a huge swish which failed to make contact with the ball.
Jonny Bairstow has just taken guard. Lungi Ngidi is at the top of his mark.
Strap yourselves in.

If England are going to have any chance of threatening here, they need a Bairstow start to seize the initiative here.
Nasser Hussain has just described Heinrich Klaasen's century as "one of the best you are likely to see at the World Cup given the conditions".
Hard to argue with that. Here's the best of it.
Dawid Malan and Jonny Bairsow striding out to the middle.
Your joke, Matthew, has reminded me a story of when Henry Blofeld was covering England's 1963-64 tour of India as a journalist for the Guardian.
The England team was ravaged by injury and illness and on the eve of the match Blofeld was told by David Clark, the England tour manager, that he might have to play.
To which Blofeld quipped: "I would certainly play if needed, but if I scored 50 or upwards in either innings I was damned if I would stand down for the next Test."

England had three subs on the field at one point. Finny better have brought his boots.

It is only the second time these two sides have met at the Wankhede. The other was in the 2016 T20 World Cup, South Africa made 229-4, England successfully chased that down with two balls to go.
South Africa opening batter Reeza Hendricks: "Quite pleased with the way I went about it, it was tough in the beginning finding my feet. Would've loved three figures but it wasn't mean to be."
When did you find out you were playing?: "It was a bit rushed, literally five minutes before the toss. I had to find my feet but the partnership with Rassie van der Dussen helped."
What did you make of Heinrich Klaasen's century?: "An incredible innings, it is quite hot. We lost Aiden and David in quick succession but Heinrich Klaasen played an incredible innings."
Do you reckon setting England 400 will be enough to win?: "We hope so, we need our bowlers to put the work in, it is going to have to take an incredible effort."

It will be England's biggest chase in ODI cricket and a World Cup record if England manage it.
England have also never conceded 400 in an ODI innings.
