It's like a dam wall that has burst open and there is nothing to stop the torrent.

  2. SA 372-5published at 48.1 overs

Can Reece Topley get England the control that they desperately need with the penultimate over?

Not as far as Heinrich Klaasen is concerned. First ball, four.

  3. Postpublished at 13:25 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

Marco Jansen has played a gem of an innings from number seven here.

  4. SA 368-5published at 48 overs

    Klaasen 105, Jansen 54

Have England been too focused on the dew factor, and the assistance of batting under lights in chasing?

The bowl first call is looking questionable right now. Yes, the pitch looks very good but given the humidity, England might be too exhausted to make the most of it.

  5. 50 runs

50 for Marco Jansenpublished at 47.3 overs

    SA 364-5

    Banged in short.

    Banged for six.

Marco Jansen reaches a ferocious half-century from just 35 balls.

England are being dismembered here. How well are they going to have to play to chase this down?

  7. SA 358-5published at 47.2 overs

    Atkinson nails a wide yorker.

    Jansen carves it for four.

    Brutal, brutal cricket.

  8. 6 runs

    SA 354-5published at 47.1 overs

    Klaasen has been, well, class.

But Marco Jansen has played his role exceptionally well, too.

A Gus Atkinson full toss is clubbed back down the ground for six.

The Netherlands are still fighting toil and nail in Lucknow against Sri Lanka.

Aryan Dutt (3-44) has just bowled Charith Asalanka (44) but he has now sent down his allocation.

Sadeera Samarawickrama (65*) is still there for Sri Lanka, who are 212-4 off 37 overs in pursuit of 263 for victory.

Klaasen screamed in celebration right next to Mark Wood there which seems to have taken some of the England players by surprise. The South African then apologises after he's done raising his bat. Maybe he was just too tired to move away.

Heinrich Klaasen went from 50 to 100 in just 21 balls.

  12. SA 348-5published at 47 overs

    Klaasen 104, Jansen 35

The 100 partnership between Klaasen and Jansen comes up too, from just 61 balls.

And Klaasen pulls the last ball of an expensive Mark Wood over for four more.

It is getting quite hard to keep up with the boundaries that are flowing so quickly, but make no mistake - this has been majestic from South Africa.

It is a superb World Cup 100 from Heinrich Klassen and it means England face an almighty task to win this game.

  14. 100 runs

100 for Heinrich Klaasenpublished at 46.4 overs

    SA 344-5

A century of the highest quality.

Take a bow, Heinrich Klaasen. This is so, so admirable.

He is drenched in sweat, he is struggling to run. And yet, he goes to his century with a six and a four.

He just about finds the energy to roar and leap in celebration.

  15. 6 runs

    SA 340-5published at 46.3 overs

Having just floored him, Mark Wood follows it with a full toss.

In fairness, he was probably going for the yorker again but Heinrich Klaasen is not missing that, no matter how knackered he is.

He moves to 96 from 60 balls.

  16. SA 334-5published at 46.2 overs

A toe-crusher from Mark Wood does just that to Heinrich Klaasen.

He is on the floor and does look in pain, but I wouldn't blame him for just taking the opportunity to lie down, to be honest.

  17. SA 333-5published at 46 overs

    18 from the over.

    Savage.

It's been so chaotic that I'm going to need a lie down after my live texting stint. Imagine how the players are feeling.

  18. 6 runs

    SA 332-5published at 45.4 overs

Marco Jansen makes the most of his ridiculously long limbs by slapping a full delivery from Willey down the ground for six more.

A tough watch, this. You've got to feel for the bowlers.

  19. SA 235-5published at 45.2 overs

    Brutal.

    A wide from David Willey.

The last thing you need is to bowl extra deliveries but he is really struggling. They all are.

  20. SA 323-5published at 45.1 overs

Klaasen can only manage a single from the free hit.

He doesn't have the energy to even think of a second run at this stage. It's fair enough, because Marco Jansen is a more than capable batter.
