    Problems for India.

It's four leg byes, but what's noticeable is that Jasprit Bumrah chased it all the way to the ropes before letting it go over. It looks like he's given up on the chase but it's the apprehension to dive, because of the dodgy outfield, and fairly, he'd rather give away four than injure himself.

After that drop you saw hands on hips and players staring at each other. It shows India are under pressure and feeling it a little bit.

That's a poor drop from Jasprit Bumrah. He really should be taking that.

  4. dropped catch

Mitchell dropped on 69published at 33 overs

    NZ 173-2

My word. It's another absolute sitter.

Daryl Mitchell attempts to launch Kuldeep Yadav down the ground for another of his trademark sixes. He doesn't get enough of it and picks out Jasprit Bumrah at long-off, where a pretty straightforward catch is put down - and rolls over the boundary for four.

  5. drinks break

    NZ 167-2published at 32 overs

New Zealand are set for a big finish here. 300 is still in their sights.

It's the first time India have been under any kind of pressure during the tournament so far and it'll be fascinating to see how they handle it.

Virat Kohli, who was jumping all over the place and couldn't keep quiet at the beginning, has gone rather subdued.

    That'll be drinks.

  6. NZ 164-2published at 31.1 overs

Well, the first ball of this spell is flicked effortlessly for four by Rachin Ravindra.

That was lovely. Proper flair, proper skill.

This lad is going to score a lot of runs for New Zealand over the next few years.

India turn back to Mohammed Shami, who got rid of Will Young with his first ball earlier.

  9. 6 runs

    NZ 160-2published at 31 overs

    Daryl Mitchell goes again!

It is definitely a plan of New Zealand's to whack Kuldeep Yadav out of the attack and give Rohit Sharma a real nightmare with no other bowling options.

That is Mitchell's fourth six and it's another huge hit.

This a key passage of play. If New Zealand's batters go after Kuldeep Yadav like they did earlier it will give Rohit Sharma a bit of a headache.

Ravindra was dropped on 12 and Mitchell on 59. Can they capitalise?

Both have played beautifully so far.

  12. NZ 147-2published at 30 overs

Daryl Mitchell is solid in defence as New Zealand withstand one of India's main threats in Jadeja. He bowls 10 overs straight through for 0-48.

That's a miss for KL Rahul. There was some bat on that. Just suddenly, with the lights on, things are starting to happen for India's bowlers.

  14. dropped catch

Mitchell dropped on 59published at 29.3 overs

    NZ 144-2

    It's all happening!

Daryl Mitchell gets an edge, trying to whack Jadeja through the covers.

It goes quickly to KL Rahul behind the stumps but bursts through his gloves for a single. A tough one, but a chance nevertheless.

  15. NZ 142-2published at 29 overs

A frustrated Siraj ends a very good over with a sharp bouncer that Ravindra evades nicely.

Blimey. It just seems to be Rachin Ravindra's day. You've always got to make the most of being dropped, but especially when it's by Jadeja because that never happens.

Saved by probably a quarter of the seam width. Looked almost there! It's the second time Adrian Holdstock has had to reverse a decision. New Zealand are getting the rub of the green, but they've deserved that for the way they have batted.

  17. Not outpublished at 11:41 British Summer Time 22 October 2023

    Wow!

The ball is pitching outside leg stump! Rachin Ravindra breathes an enormous sigh of relief and I don't think he expected that to be overturned.

The noise levels drop once more.

It looked straight, it looked good and was enough for Adrian Holdstock to lift his finger. Unless he's hit it, I think this is out.
